Gamers

I bought a 160 gig used ps3 and two games. Went home and hooked everything up, excitement growing. Opened the case to the first game and the disk was totalled, as was the other. Thought I’d use it as a DVD player until I could make my way back to the store, but the disks don’t spin. They need to inspect their inventory on a regular basis.

I’ve been to this Gamers quite a few times. They have a decent selection of used games, and they even go as far back as Nintendo games! So they definitely have a lot of different options to choose from, and it feels more like a comfortable, small business than the «chain» feel that other types of gaming stores have. As usual, you’ll want to watch the pricing as sometimes they have great prices and sometimes the prices are unreasonable. They do offer some older, hard-​to-​find games that even other gaming stores have stopped carrying, so that’s awesome. They also offer a small selection of new items, but it’s mostly used games. They also buy-​back games, consoles, and gaming accessories as well.
I was going to give them 3 stars as they’ve always been good — but not impressive. However, I went in the other day to buy a used Rock Band drumset (mine’s breaking), and the staff was insanely helpful. I let them know what I wanted, and they quickly and easily told me the various options. When I picked one out, she took the time to dust it and clean it off with a cleanser too. She packaged it up into plastic bags to make it easy to take to my car and even offered to help me carry it out as well! Super, duper nice! It definitely was going to be a 5-​star review after that.
Unfortunately, I got it home, and the accessories she sold me with the drumset don’t actually work with the drumset. Luckily, they have a fantastic return policy. You can only return for Gamer’s store credit, so you should keep that in mind, but I brought in the drumset, explained what happened, and they found a drumset that worked perfectly with the accessories I purchased. The entire exchange took less than a couple minutes.
Final thoughts: Fantastic selection, and it’s easy to shop with them. I wish their employees were slightly more knowledgeable about what they were selling, but it’s hard to expect them to know everything either. Fantastic customer service. I’ll definitely be shopping here again.

They have an extensive selection of used games, not as many as Game Stop but still a good variety. Things aren’t terribly well organized.
