Very limited menu so I ordered a burger. It was awful. Greasy, flavorless, served on a slightly sweet brioche bun. Waiter was a jerk.

Surprisingly Good We stayed at the wonderful Windsor Hotel for one night. We weren’t quite in the mood for the hotel’s more formal restaurant, so we went to their simpler Floyd’s Pub. It is a typical bar & grill with a couple of TVs showing football. Service was quite amiable. We really enjoyed the Rylander Burger and the Fish Tacos, both accompanied by a chopped salad. Prices were reasonable I’m a fan!

Friendly staff. Well staffed. Great service. Did I say that they were friendly and helpful? I ordered jalapeño poppers and a June Bug. Ha ha ha. What a combination. One cool and refreshing and the other hot. 2nd floor of the Windsor. Yep. I’ll be back.

Food = 3 Price = 3 Experience = 3(you would think with such a unique 2d floor veranda this would be a cool hangout… think again. It’s beer selection is the worst I’ve seen in all my travels foreign and domestic. Domestic Big Brewery crap! The service is slow… I could go on… But, I do like the outdoor seating area and overlook. The hotel is beautiful, but the rooms are not impressive.

Wicker rocking chairs on a rooftop patio? Gorgeous location in a(recently restored) historic hotel built in 1892? $ 2.50 cocktails during happy hour? Only bar in town open past 9pm on a Saturday? Yes, please! For all of these reasons, Floyd’s is a winner. Skip the $ 7 glasses of house wine and go straight for the cocktails, which have generous pours and rock bottom prices. They had plenty of servers at all hours, so you’ll never wait for a drink, regardless of if you’re sitting at the bar, a table, or one of the aforementioned wicker rockers. The people watching, particularly after 10pm, also merits mention, as it was fantastic, in the way that only small towns can offer. Overall, if your travels take you to Americus, Floyd’s is definitely worth a stop.

It’s rumored that this is the only bar in town, which I doubt, unless it was meant that it was the«only» bar in town. Floyd’s is on the 2nd floor of the haunted Windsor hotel, and it overlooks downtown Americus. Above the bar is a beautiful cylindrical tower, the bridal tower, I believe. Evidently it was named after an elevator operator who used to work at the hotel. Who know if Floyd haunts the bar? The bar gets pretty wild on weekends, especially if there is some sort of event in town, but there is a kindly security guard outside the door to make sure things don’t get out of hand. I don’t know much about the drinks situation, since I just kept bringing down my own beer and whiskey from my room. Definitely cheaper, and recommended. Great pub!
