My son introduced me to this restaurant. He was at BYU and frequented the first J Dawgs. Since then I’ve gone to the American Fork location. I’ve bought the special sauce and had many home barbecues featuring the J Dawgs. All I can say is try it… you’ll never have a better hot dog for a better price.

I love this place for many reasons but the biggest one is that it’s simple. There a are 3 things on the menu Hot Dog(Beef or Polish) Chips and a soda. And there is definitely something to be said for this KISS method. I have been to New York. I have been to Chicago. I have had hot dogs in both these places and many others all over the world. This is hands down the best hot dog I have ever had. Make sure you get your dog with their special sauce. The restaurant is clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The only recommendation for improvement is that the girl who served us our dogs was kind of a low talker and that doesn’t work well in a place as busy as this. Speak up dear. But that’s just picking nits. Go here. Eat a dog. Be a happier person for having a good meal at a great price. Simple.

The food is amazing! The customer service is amazing! They let me try things before I ordered it and explained what things were. A really great place to eat! I would recommend it to everyone!

Coming from New York, I though a Utah hot dog would be uninspiring… But boy was I wrong. This is the best hot dog I’ve ever had. The meat itself is so juicy and well prepared. And the sauce! A wonderful sweet barbecue that is to die for. Really friendly staff that grills and prepares everything on the spot. Fresh and wonderful! My only request is that they open one in NYC…

A beef dog with special sauce, a pickle, sauerkraut and banana peppers come together to make the best sausage sandwich I’ve ever tasted. I was concerned at first that menu options were lacking, but that’s really all you need. The dawg is just incredible. The special sauce is barbecue-esque in a sweet way that I had my doubts about but – barbecue sauce on a hot dog? – but have since seen the light. Will be eating here frequently. Also try the apple beer if you get a beverage – it’s great stuff and extra refreshing with a light head.

We took 10 kids to this place. They all loved it. We the adults thought it was awesome. Try the PG-13 version. So dang good if you love sauerkraut and pickles! The kids also loved the apple beer on tap. Check out our post on soon!

Super duper tasty, I’ll admit. I had in mind for some twisted reason a jalapeño and nacho cheese sauce dog. No option for this. Ah well. I did get the sweet sauce and jalapeño and banana pepper, added a little ketchup and hot mustard. Staff are super duper as well! My daughter picked up Cheetos after we had ordered and they let her have it on the house. The only issue is no actual kid items. It’s a really huge dog but it would be mega cool if there was a smaller one for those less hungry folks.

Pick a few things and do them well. This is great advice and J Dawgs has mastered the concept. Only two things on the menu, beef or polish, and they are both amazing. Make sure you try the special sauce and dig in. Great eats!

I’m updating this and adding a star because they have recently changed their polish recipe back to the way it was originally intended to be. Apparently the company they had making them had corrupted the recipe, so now it is much more flavorful and a bit spicier and sets it apart from a regular old hot dog.

I’ve been going to JDawgs for a long time now and can’t believe they only have 4 stars! These are awesome hot dogs and I’m from Chicago(home of the Chicago dog)

J dawgs is really good and cheap. They get your order out quick(not to hard when it is just hot dogs) and I like the J-Dawg sauce with the slice of pickle. Good stuff. Fast and cheap.

Waited in line for 10 minutes. Dogs are great but there are no vegetarian options. They lose out on business from my family because they have no options for my vegetarian wife. It’s too bad they have been around for over 10 years and still haven’t caught on.

good food. I like having the pickles and banana peppers on a good hot dog. the sauce is really good. they just have chips for sides which is okay. if you just feel like a hot dog then this is a good place to go.

An ok hot dog with a large selection of toppings. The«special» sauce tastes like what’s left in a can of baked beans once the beans are gone… yeah, not that special. Let’s face it, it’s an overpriced hot dog stand.

I visited the Lehi location, which just barely opened apparently. Everybody has their own idea of the perfect hot dog. I know I do. J Dawgs is clearly somebody idea of perfect, but not mine. They score the dogs which offers the advantage of keeping the dog and condiments from sliding around. However, I like a dog that ‘snaps’ when I bite into it. With a bigger dog(and J Dawgs delivers one) keeping things in place is an acceptable trade-off. Much has made of the sauce they use and for good reason. It’s quite good. Pity there wasn’t more of it used. It could stand to be just a bit thicker too since half of it ran into the foil wrap. The pickle slice was nice. I’m guessing Claussens. The rest of the toppings were fairly standard. The bun matched the dog nicely. Poppy seeds and toasting the inside would have made it perfect. Sport peppers should also be an option while I am wishing for poppy seeds buns. Keeping the menu bare bones and doing one thing right is a good idea. They make a fuss about having Pepsi and Coke. Meh. Apple Beer is all that matters! Yes, I will be back.

Love the grilled bun. I also think it’s a great idea to score the beef hot dogs because it grills up faster and condiments adhere better. That said, I think I should have added mayo to my onion and special sauce dog. The special sauce is quite sweet(think of cocktail smokies’ sauce). Even so, it was pretty good. I also got a dog with sauerkraut, celery salt and spicy mustard(my version of a NY dog). It was alright. In my opinion, the dog itself is just too big, which tends to jack up the dosage of sodium per bite ratio, and that’s a recipe for unbalanced hot dog, disorientation and culinary vertigo. Verdict? Great bread, great staff, cool ordering process. I’d prefer a smaller dog, smaller bun(but same bread and grilled as usual). JDawgs Mini?

I don’t know any other way to say it… These guys know wieners! I’m trying my best to keep this PG for the Utah County residents. Perhaps the most simple menu in restaurant history but that doesn’t matter because these guys cook up a big tasty wiener. Great customer service, speedy, clean, and they had me at Pepsi. I love a restaurant that recognizes the superior cola. If you’re looking for a fancy, creative, concoction of a dog this is not your place. Want an incredible, big, juicy, tasty wiener for $ 3.50? JDawgs has it.

They need to improve the«order and pick up» process. There is no organized line system. You pay and awkwardly stand and wait for your hotdog. I watched 2 teenage kids stand in the group of people waiting for their hotdogs get a free hotdog because there is no way to confirm the orders. they should have a number system in place to confirm orders, giving you time to get a drink and find a place to sit down. If you don’t stand in the awkward circle you will lose your place and not get your grub. They should have a much more organized system. I couldn’t believe how long the wait was. I was able to write this review while standing in line. And there is still 5 people in front of me. They are losing money and confidence in me.
