An undiscovered treasure — organic chocolate infused with tea. I couldn’t stay away from this table at the SF International Chocolate Salon. I got a chance to taste a few of their chocolate bars and a bunch of their truffles. My 2 favorites are the dark chocolate with Green Earl Grey Tea and the white chocolate with Chamomile Tea & Honey. They pride themselves on producing a USDA certified organic chocolate. The chocolate actually tastes good and the tea flavor is prominent. They use a variety of teas: Chinese, English(Ceylon & India), Japanese, Organic, South African, and European Herbal & Fruit Tea. The chocolate bars are only$ 2.99 each and a box of 4-truffles is $ 8.40. The prices are reasonable and quality of the chocolate is commendable. It would be easier to order these chocolates online or go to one of the locations that carry their chocolates which is found on their website.

In addition to marketing some fine teas from around the world the chocolatiers at the TeaRoom in Napa County have created some delicious 100 percent organic chocolate truffles. Their brochure states that«Absolutely no vegetable oils/fats are being used! Certified organic by and the State of California …» I had the pleasure of sampling some of their truffles at the recent San Francisco International Chocolate Salon. These folks were quite generous with their samples and I gladly stopped to sample nearly each of their truffles. For the chocolate purist they have a 72 percent Cacao Truffle that I found just a bit bitter for my taste. The Green Earl Grey Truffle and the Jasmine Milk Truffle are two very good tea-infused chocolates. I’ve never thought of myself as much of a fan of white chocolate, but as it turned out one of my two favorites was the Chamomile & Honey White Truffle with the Honeybush /Caramel Milk Truffle being the other favorite. All of the samples were rich and smooth and creamy. You can order directly from their website, but consume them fast because as their literature states these chocolates contain«organic local cream and butter from happy California cows. No additives, preservatives or artificial flavors …»
