Great service with a lot of smiles. Enjoyed the A, B and C sections on the menu. Nice little resultant tucked away in the vineyards.

Never again. My wife ordered the French toast and I ordered the Denver omelette, within 10 min our breakfast was out. Normally who would complain about food coming out so quickly. However, my wife’s French toast was anything but. Sourdough bread that was slightly buttered and then slightly toasted was what we got. Absolutely NO flavor, soggy in fact. And the sausage… Also flavorless. As far as my omelette’s. Also bland, but I was there already and I don’t like to waste food. Shortly after getting our breakfast the waitress checked in on us and after we gave the«ok» she dropped check right then. I think the only reason this place gets any business is the fact that it’s on hwy 29. Personally keep going past that a few more miles and hit up Canyon Café!

Super cute little eatery in Napa. Good food, nice servers and a «down home» feel. Great place to grab breakfast or lunch and never super crowded like some of the other places in town. Highly recommend, but only if you like friendly people and good food with big portions! ;)

I haven’t been here in a long time, now I’m trying to figure out why I thought this place is isn’t very expansive, I got the 16oz steak sand, okay nothing special to talk about, my wife had the chicken strip meal, which really sucked ass, mainly because they were made from chopped formed meat, as a former chef, that kind of shit really pisses me off, because there nothing more simple to make from scratch, than a fucking chicken strip. needless to say, I don’t see any reason for a return visit!

Great greasy spoon joint. Food is fresh and cooked to order. Love the biscuits and gravy. Coffee comes in a very large mug. Service is good. Never had a bad meal here

Service is awful and food is not that good. Sat in the middle of the restaurant and had no privacy. Waitress never checked on us and had to get her attention as she was chatting forever with regulars. Place not that tidy n there were bugs.

Went here today for breakfast. The waitress I had wasn’t the friendliest, there were other waitress’ there and they seemed to interact with the customers. I ordered the bacon and eggs(scrambled) with sour dough toast and has browns, the hash browns were terrible but the rest of the food was great! I would go back again and maybe try for another waitress. At least I was served my coffee in a Christmas cup, that’s a plus!

This place has the best staff! They make you feel at home and welcomed. By far the best diner i’ve been to. Try the hash browns the are to die for. Breakfast items are great. Only downfall is this place is always so packed! People just enjoy it here. Parking lot is a little small & street parking isn’t always the best since there is the FleaMarket/Farmer’sMarket on Sundays.

Working in Napa I stopped by for breakfast on the way from hotel. The waitress was very sweet and helped me with my selection. The food was delicious and I practically finished my plate! I asked for the check and was surprised when the waitress told me that a gentleman who had been sitting at the counter had already paid for my check. I was so touched and did not know what to do. Being on the road, as much as I am, can be kind hard at times. No one has ever done anything like that. I was overwhelmed and grateful so I tipped the waitress the cost of my meal. Just wanted to share my blessing. Kind anonymous Napa Man, thank you so much! You made my day and week

I’ve lived all over the Bay Area including Napa and have always made a point of stopping by the Café in the morning on my way up valley before wine tasting. Comfort food, American food, big portions, good coffee, etcetera. No one leaves hungry. You cannot go wrong with this place b

Neighborhood café. Has a very throwback feel leaves you expecting great home cooked food. Instead you get an average meal. And now for… THENESS’s friendli-NESS Staff is the made up of the same few people and they are pretty sweet ladies. If you come during the weekend, expect them to look completely overwhelmed and in a hurry. It’s almost as if they’re always busier than they expect. It’s always packed on the weekend, you’d think they would plan accordingly. But they definitely work hard. cleanli-NESS Tables are generally bused, but sometimes they do back up and end up with some dirty tables. Not too bad since it’s only when they’re super busy. I’ve never used the bathroom so I can’t speak to the cleanliness in there. tasti-NESS I usually get some of their giant hot cakes, but I decided to switch it up and get French toast. Mistake. Not flavorful at all. Wished I had ordered my hot cakes. Also, I know this is a neighborhood café, but a little plating can go along the way. I just feel like foods just flung on the plate. You’ll see in my pics. Also I was told by the server they don’t have maple syrup. They use corn syrup, which apparently is cheaper than maple syrup(and has zero flavor). The sever told me «maple syrup is too expensive.» Which brings me to my next subject. suggesti-NESS PLEASEGETMAPLESYRUP. Even get the Vermont maple syrup and charge extra. People will pay for it, if it’s top shelf syrup. I’ve seen it in other restaurants. Maybe hire a couple more servers or hosts to help the current staff out. overall-NESS Far from being terrible. The food is okay. I would rather spend a little gas and make my way over to Babs in Suisun. But if you like to stay local for breakfast, this is your best local option

It’s a sight for sore eyes when you’re in the middle of no where trying to get breakfast after or before going to the flee market. The amount of food is impressive for a ridiculously small price. Someone said a pancake would potentially be enough and I seriously doubted them so I ordered two pancakes, eggs, and bacon… I was defeated after one pancake. The dinning area is quite large so the calamity of large groups coming in for breakfast is a common factor. The service has always been nice to me and I’ve never left without a complaint… with the exception of a few to go boxes.

Highway 29 Café offers heaping helpings of bacon, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, coffee. Mmmmmmm, what more do you need? OK, how about steak, pork chops, ham, corned beef, toast, biscuits and gravy, all in generous portions and offering great value for money. If you like traditional diner fare and don’t mind the traditional diner environment then this place is for you! Highway 29 Café is a pretty basic place and they have been serving traditional American food for decades out of the same red building on the corner of CA-29 and South Kelly Rd. The place is legendary among locals for its huge breakfast and lunch platters. They are not open for dinner. Breakfast starts at around $ 8(eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, biscuits — you know the deal!) If you are a light eater you can down-size your portions and the price will be lower as well. The lunch platters are a bit more expensive and seem to offer a lot more meat, but to be honest I have never ordered one since the breakfast platters are as much as I can handle! Today I ordered the Corned Beef and two egg special which came on big bed of hashed potatoes and with toast(made mine sourdough) and the wife ordered a small-portion bacon, eggs & hash plate with a side of her favorite biscuits and gravy . We both found the hash to be a bit tasteless without a dollop of ketchup and my corned beef also tasted like maybe too much flavor was boiled out into the broth, but on the bright side we were glad that we did not get an unwelcome overdose of sodium. Service is down-home friendly and reminds me of the old TV show«Alice.» One recommendation to the owners and staff: maybe you could be a bit slower in bringing out the check? It would be nicer if you could wait until we are almost done eating to bring it out instead of when we are just getting started. A couple vegetarian or veggie friendly dishes would be a nice option as well. While 29 Café is not perfect we always leave feeling full and content and will be back again soon!
