Reply to Cristinella B.‘s review. First of all, I wouldn’t count on the ability of a patrol officer to rule on things constitutional. It’s not their job, nor are they qualified to rule on constitutional law, if you’re relying on a patrol officer to do that you’re going to be in big trouble. Besides, there’s nothing in the constitution that says a business has to transact with you as long as they don’t discriminate against you due to race, religion, etc. Secondly, IMO this is a private business that accepts no public funding. FTARA can choose who they want to accept as a student, and why do they need to be members of the Chamber of Commerce? As far as not being a resident of Ambridge, so what? Does every Ambridge business owner reside in Ambridge? Does every teacher in your district reside in Ambridge?

For Those About to Rock Academy is a good concept, and as a member of The Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce, I was excited to see the former DaveWorld Productions studio resurrected. The«School of Rock» type academy focusing on the education of Rock’nRoll and the integration of music and multi-media is financially backed by Cathy Stewart in conjunction with Beaver County natives, David Michael Granati and Joseph Pio Granati. I inquired about enrolling for myself, as they do offer lessons for all age levels. Upon inquiry, Ms. Stewart proceeded to call the Ambridge Police. Obviously, they would not let me enroll. Furthermore, this business, which is not a member of The Ambridge Chamber of Commerce wasted tax dollars when a police officer arrived. The Officer admitted that I had every right to seek enrollment for myself and that it was unconstitutional for him to tell me that I could not be on Maplewood Avenue. Keeping an open mind and believing in the talents of David Granati as a guitar instructor, I sent an email to the academy to seek enrollment for my daughter, I was told that they would not accept her as a student and was threatened by Ms. Stewart that she would pursue legal action due to my communication in efforts to have my child enrolled in guitar lessons. I am not sure what the intention of For Those About to Rock Academy is as a performing arts academy. However, I do know that many of the students are from out of town. It is disappointing that For Those About to Rock Academy have discriminated against a Single Mother and Professional Musician. Furthermore, as the tuition is quite pricey, I question why the owners have not yet joined The Ambridge Chamber of Commerce. None of the owners are residents of Ambridge, so the revenue from this academy is not benefiting Ambridge as it should be.
