Wissahickon Valley Sweep

I highly recommend Wissahickon Valley Sweep for gas fireplace service. Bill was great all around. He got me scheduled quickly, arrived on time and thoroughly explained everything he was going to do. He checked for leaks, cleaned it, properly arranged the logs and explained how everything was supposed to work. He also recognized that I was somewhat afraid of the fireplace so he carefully explained to me how to light and use it properly and safely — without being at all condescending (which repair people can sometimes be). Also great, he used paper covers for his boots, and a tarp to cover the area around the fireplace. I appreciated that he made a recommendation for a replacement part but didn’t try to sell it to me because he said it wasn’t absolutely necessary.

The owner (Bill) came out to clean, and give me a over all inspection for my fireplace. He was timely and friendly. I did tell him that my husband was a carpenter and could fix somethings if it was minor. He was fine with that offered some suggestions that were all simple. I would highly recommend this company! This is an industry that can be very shady. Don’t look for coupons people, look for a local company that is honest.

Bill came out to clean our chimney, and inspected our fireplace insert installation. He saw many things wrong with how it had been installed, and knew why, because as Education chairman for the PA Guild of Professional Chimney Sweeps, he had been encouraging sellers and installers to educate their employees (without success in the case of our supplier).
Over the past several years, he has rebuilt what was badly flawed, and always provided the best service, the best advice, and leave-​no-​trace cleaning as well. I recommend him to all my friends and who ask about sweeps around Philadelphia.
