Experienced racial, bias and preference at this school. Will not recommend any one for the Esthetics Course. In addition, the school is very unorganized and unprofessional.

On an academic point of view, Toni & Guy’s administration stands out to be lacking. I was told information that contradicted itself from what was written in their handbook on my tour of the ‘Academy’ and then when going to fill out the application, was told something totally different from the first tour and the handbook! Then I learned if I were to miss anytime, I had to pay them more money over and about the tuition payments. When I tried to reach someone in ‘Admin’ on the phone, you can’t get through… always an answering machine. Not very accommodating. Future attendees beware.

Brenda just yelled at me in front of the whole class and accused me of lying, because I did not see the 2-hour delay. I strongly wouldn’t recommend anyone coming here for the Esthetician program. Please go to another school.

I went here on February 14th, 2014 to get hair extensions for my first time. Katrina(spelling?) was very sweet and patient with all my questions I had. She took her time and did a great job! I also felt comfortable. She had no problem holding a conversation with me while my hair was being done. They also gave me a discount, which I wasn’t expecting. So that was neat! Everyone there has great attitudes. I was told by many others how much they loved my hair and that she did an awesome job :)

This has made me realize that I have to just suck it up and pay a fortune at a good salon if I want good hair. I figured that a student at a «good» beauty school would be on the same level as an apprentice at a good salon.(I am not a loyal customer, but Lakshmi has generally been good to me. Cuts and colors are good, but if you are worked on by a male, be sure to tell them if you don’t want Farrah hair.) I was so, so wrong. I asked for grey coverage that matched my natural color. And natural looking highlights to help the greys grow in more gracefully and to replicate the ombré look I once had when highlights that were put in two years ago grew out beautifully. I should have known I was in trouble when an instructor was spending a LOT of time helicoptering around my stylist. The student struggled through the highlights and color. It took so long, that while other people having similar services were in and out, I sat uncomfortably in the chair. Also, I know some drips are unavoidable, but she had dye ALLOVER my face. I had to ask her for a product remover and towel to remove it myself, since she showed no intention of removing it. I don’t want large brown stains on my face, thanks. She took so long she didn’t even do my cut. The instructor blew through it, missing large sections of my hair. The result of the color and highlights? She got my color wrong, and I ended up with orangey-brown(my hair is naturally dark brown, almost black) on top with pale lemon highlights. Ugh. Thank god for color depositing shampoo.

This place is great if you have the patience and the time to allow a student to cut your hair. My husband and I made an appointment to get our hair cut. My husband hated his hair, which was kinda bad. The poor student was shaking while she was cutting my husband’s hair. The lady that cut my hair was nice and did a great job with my hair. I was glad that a teacher is there to help students with hair or else my haircut would not have looked right. It took more than 2 hours to get my hair cut. I think I rather pay more and have it done in half the amount of time. I would come back here if I need to get a trim or something simple, not a «creative haircut» again. My husband swears he will never come back.
