Absolutely awful. We called literally five minutes before we got there and they told us no wait so we left the current place we were at to come here but when we get here we’re greeted by two SUPERRUDE hostesses who tell us it’s 20 minutes and when we told them we called one of them told us «well that’s not our problem» well who’s problem is it?! Awful service will never ever ever ever return.

We LOVE it here! My husband loves the sushi! I eat the steak, usually filet! California roll with a soy wrapper, Bubba Gump, and spicy Tuna are some of our favorites!

The food at Sakura is delicious. I always order a Gyoza appetizer, they make a really tasty version. The Hibachi soup served at Sakura is JUST perfect, in my opinion. Their ginger salad dressing is slightly sweet with a kick, very refreshing. I like to order the chicken Hibachi dinner, it’s a good price, plenty of food, and tons of flavor! The staff here is great. One of my dinner companions was giving our server a REALLY hard time… Bad enough that we overheard a manager considering asking the tacky guest to take his food to go… But our server kept a smile on her face the entire time and she handled his attitude with class and humor. I left her a $ 20 tip simply for putting up with him.

I have been to several Sakura’s but this is by far my least favorite. The outside of the restaurant looks really nice but the inside isn’t anything spectacular. It could definitely use some renovation. I have been to this location twice and service is not horrible. I have yet to try their hibachi. Their sushi is alright, nothing special. For the money I could have eaten somewhere a little more high end. I think for my sushi I will continue going to Tokyo. Also, they have signs that say«smoking in designated area.» Yeah, I have yet to see the designated area. It disgusts me to be enjoying my food and have a strong smell of cigarettes creep up on me. I will only come here if I HAVE to.

Wow… HORRIBLE service, waiter was never around and only checked in with us once-we had 3 rolls, 2 pieces of sushi, gyoza and a salad and 2 beers and our tab was $ 94!!! Sushi was awful — rolls were good thou but for the prices I expected a lot more on the service end and taste… do not care to go back here ever again

Mediocre sushi, wasn’t my favorite place to go for sushi. Did not think it was that great. However, I have had great sushi before, so now my expectations are high. If you are okay with decent food at a decent price, and aren’t looking for anything too high quality, this would be the place for you.

Wow. Thoroughly underwhelmed. Rice was good. Prime filet was overcooked, as were the vegetables. Soup was weak. Stay away from the ginger salad dressing. The only other choice in salad dressing is ranch. The swordfish ordered by a fellow diner was horribly dry. I will not return.

It’s one of our favorite restaurants in town. We’ve eaten at both the grill, and at dining room tables, and either way is well worth it. It’s one of those restaurants where the owners still walk around and say hi to guests and make sure everything is to your satisfaction. Their sushi chefs definitely know what they are doing too. A pet-peeve of mine is rolls the size of a wagon wheel which you can’t eat with chop-sticks with any grace… and these guys get it right… a proper bite-sized roll cut. My favorite is the Mexican roll.

Service, good. Food, decent. I love sushi and sashimi, but I’ve had better quality and size for the price I paid. I also believe they need to add more detail into their menu. For a first timer, I didn’t know miso soup came complimentary and had asked about it before ordering. Why wasn’t it stated that on the menu? Miso soup wasn’t on the menu at all for that matter. Yet the server said there are two types(one with bits of chicken and tofu, the other mainly just the broth). Same with rice. Very confusing and I don’t like having to ask my server what they have that isn’t on the menu.

I ate at the competitor for years. But Sakura has the best chefs in town now. Not always the flashiest show. But the best cooks. The food here is excellent. Sakura has a good focus in good service as well. Good job guys!

I’m by no means a sushi expert, but the food tasted good and the service was solid. Our waiter(I forget his name, but he kinda looked hipster-ish? It was really cool to see a hipster say y’all.) made great suggestions, was patient with our indecisiveness, and was really nice. I’ve had better sushi before, and my only gripe would be the price in comparison to the quality. But then again, it IS in northern Texas.

In general, it seemed overpriced compared to the quality of food you get. The appitizers were pricy and tasted ok. I was hoping for a slightly bigger serving of sake. The non-smoking section smelled pretty smoky. The waiter was a little slow. Overall, we’ve been to better japanese steakhouses.

Our server was really nice but that’s not enough. Even if the sushi was cheaper it still wouldn’t be worth it. We were very disappointed. We did get a good laugh when we saw the receipt because it said something like«Sakura, The Best Sushi Bar in West Texas.» Umm no.

If you want a flashy Japanese restaurant, go to the competitor. This place has really gone downhill with the completion of a couple of other Japanese restaurants in town. The chefs don’t usually put on a show, they just cook as if there wasn’t an audience watching them. The food is very good, but usually people go to eat Japanese food for the added experience. This place is lacking that. The waitresses disappear and don’t come back to refill drinks. I love the seaweed salad and I have never had bad sushi. It’s not amazing sushi, but it’s not bad. The place is clean, but older.

I like hibachi, but the chef was unamused and just cooked our food like he was in the kitchen. No show. The sushi was ok. The food was just ok.

Just went yesterday and ordered the sakura roll which was tasty but not $ 14 worth. Sushi prices around here are quite pricey. My daughter got the kids chicken teppan, which was pretty good so going by that guessing the teppan would be just as good and typical show. I would definetly try this again.

I have to admit… I have been to many hibachi and tenpanyaki spots so this place in comparison wasnt all that great for my taste. I ordered the swordfish and center cut for my hibachi… The swordfish was overly cooked with butter and salt and soy sauce. i asked for light sauces on mine but the cook kept piling it on along with everything else including the veggies. Then I asked for medium done steak and the chef clearly OVERCOOKED it… I was a bit on the upset side, especially since all of my food on my plate tasted like soy sauce, salt and butter… I ate it as I was with my friend enjoying the meal but I would not come back again.

The atmosphere was very quiet and our chef very nice. However, my order had quite a few problems. First, I ordered Vegetable Tempura. From my experience, tempura usually refers to the dish being battered and fried. I realize this cannot be done out on the tables but I figured they had something in the back that would fry the vegetables. Nope. They simply chopped up some vegetables and rolled them around in hot oil. No batter, no frying. I also partook in a order of multiple sushi rolls and they didn’t bring in nearly enough plates/chopsticks for everyone. I’m not expecting them to read my mind, but it was hard to get a hold of someone to bring more to us, despite the restaurant being very slow. If I lived in Amarillo, I’m not sure I’d go back.

I hadn’t been to Sakura in quite some time until last night. To those who haven’t been, Sakura has chef tables where they prepare the food in front of you or other traditional seating and a nice bar area. We were celebrating so we sat at the Chef’s table. I found the prices to be very reasonable(especially compaired to its closest competitior). The food was fantastic and seasoned properly. The sushi was also very fresh and tasty! I sometimes forget out this place but now it will stay fresh on my mind!
