What a great dive bar in Amarillo! I came the night before a friend of mine got married! We had such a great time! You walk in, and it seems like biker crowd got mixed in with hipster crowd. This makes for an interesting vibe and allowed for us normal people to have a great time with stickin out like a sore thumb. Bartenders were a bit cranky but I wasn’t expecting great service at this dive bar. The place reeked of smoke so that’s why I docked one star. I left this place smelling like I have been smoking for years! Anyways, cheap drinks, although they didn’t have limes for my dos XX but I had a great time and so did the bride to be!

Great home grown hang out. Love the ability to blend into the scenery with no pressure to perform. Ownership does a great job giving you what you want without the stench of a corporate cookie cutter all over it. Love this place!

This is our local spot. Strong drinks, cool people. Usually there on the weekends. Great drink specials. Live entertainment.

Place sucks! no limes what the what? Crowd is a little on the sketchy side. There wasn’t one hot chick in the whole place on a Friday night, unless you like them inked and banged up. Bearded bartenders a rude douche bag.

Nice local dive bar. Very reasonable drink prices. Not very many seats at the bar & service, while friendly, is rather slow. But if you’re looking just to have a drink with locals it’s a good place

A unique little bar, but populated primarily by hipsters and new age kids making the patrons the only reason I don’t frequent this place. All in all though a good bar.

I usually do not like coming to this bar, as the crowd really isn’t my type. Not that there is anything wrong with them – it’s just my personal preference. The owner is a great guy, and when I do come here with friends, I always have fun.

This bar was pretty chill. It has a cool atmosphere and the people are pretty friendly. How friendly you ask? So friendly that we were invited to join some fellow patrons for post-drinks food at the Waffle House and they weren’t even trying to take advantage of us!

In response to the girl who said she was treated soooo poorly at RRBAR. We have a no tolerance policy for fighting and violence at the bar. She was originally yelled at by the bartender for saying derogitory statements about the female bartender and being highly insulting to the staff the few times she had been there before. When she was asked to leave she remarked that the nobodies who worked at a bar did not have the right to speak to her in that manner as they were only lowly uneducated bartenders. As she still mouthed off and the bartender raised his voice her boyfriend proceeded to tell the bartender that he had better check himself if he knew what was good for him. As that still did not diffuse the situation the lowly crappy female customer who caused the problem to begin with still wouldn’t shut up and the owner came upon the situation to back up his employees as they don’t raise their voices for no reason unless the customer was rude, unruly and not welcome. She was no longer welcome and neither was her boyfriend. As she was informed this by the owner she proceeded to put her finger in the owners face, still mouthing off and then pushed and put her hands on the owner. At that time she was restrained so she could not do that in the bar, which is within the legal rights of the bar as she placed her hands on the staff in an aggressive manner as did her boyfriend after. As they realized that the situation was not going to go their way and the customers ridiculed them they left angry and played victims. OFCOURSETHEYDID, as is shown by many reviews before hers that the RR Bar is well liked and well protected with a zero tolerance for rude, classless people as she and her boyfriend are. She herself claims this was her fourth time at the bar which she supposedly did not like yet she continued to show up and obviously was looking for trouble. Many complaints were made on this female customer before from our regular clientele as she gad made many racist, homophobic, and blatantly stupid remarks in the bar many times before. As this is unacceptable in our bar and customers such as herself are asked not to come back as she was that evening. It was the final straw and she decided she was going to get physical and that she could get away with it because our male staff was who she was dealing with. As many in the bar business know a drunk unruly female thinks she can get away with whatever they want and treat a staff badly… just because. Absolutely not. She deserved to be tossed oyy as well as her boyfriend who thought he could threaten the bartender. Since it didn’t go their way they played victims instead of taking responsibility in not folliwing the rules and etiquette of the bar. This girl had no class as her boyfriend didn’t either either and their tune sure changed when they were informed that the law would be called and trespassing warrents would be placed on them. Funny how that happens. As for the door being mortified, he was mortified by the stupidity of this girl and her audacity as he remembered her as the girl who wouldn’t leave him alone the last time she was in without her boyfriend. But hey it is a bar, one she can’t come in now. Lucky us.

This is the only bar that I regularly have a good time at. They generally play good music and their specials are pretty good all week long. Hope you come there to drink though cause their drinks are pretty potent. This place is like a second home and they show it cause a good regular is always welcome.

Ah, home. Drinks are cheap enough, and the beer selection is improving(nothing fancy, but Shiner on tap now, and I think Widmer Hefe as well). Mainly though, this place has a great crowd of friendly regulars, a pretty good staff, and a nice multi-functional space that lets different crowds spread out and intermingle as they like. Pool tables are pretty easy to get on and they’re not packed in as an afterthought. The patio’s great during the summer as well. Basically this is my place for a low-drama fun night with friends. It’s also where everyone I know goes after an even at the 806 or a show at the Nat. Oh, parking lot sucks. Get there late and be prepared to park on 7th. Get there early and watch for potholes.

They don’t mix a weak drink, that’s for sure. I like the weird trashy enclave where Kitt and James and Spillman and Donald huddled together last night, complete with sagging couch, yards of battered tulle, and strands of Christmas lights. It felt like one of the old hippie/drunkard porches of my youth, but here it was in Amarillo! That pool table seems pretty sweet; I don’t know what the set-up is for games(and I don’t know why I care, because I am a terrible pool player) and the lighting in the bar is just somehow FANTASTIC. There is also sweet spray paint stencil art up in the ladies’. I was pleasantly surprised. R & R, for all the world, reminded me of the kind of bar environment that dumbass hipsters out in S.F. try really really hard to create and fail at doing. R & R is effortless in its crimson diviness! The furniture is busted because it has been used and busted, not because it was pre-busted. So yes, I like, though I am not usually a «bar person.»

Honestly, this place has better ambiance than Rumors, but Rumors is still my favorite because of the drink specials and the diverse crowd. But coming in at a close second is R&R. The red walls and flourescant lighting make it look like the quintessential movie bar. And the jukebox is probably the best I’ve seen in any bar, anywhere. The patio rocks during the summertime, though it can be tricky accommodating a large group if you don’t show up early. The chairs are super comfy and the outdoor speakers ensure you don’t miss your jukebox selections. There are three pool tables and it’s remarkably easy to get on a table even on the busiest nights. The patrons are super friendly and the staff rocks. On a week night, you can pretty much have the place to yourself and even on the week ends, you can walk around without shoving your way through a wall of people. Only real downside is there’s a $ 1 service charge for using a card. But what are ya gonna do?

Not the best drink specials in town(that’d be Rumors), but damn close and better atmosphere than Rumors. Depending on the night of the week, R&R can be your own personal tear-in-the-beer spot, a nice place to talk with friends over drinks, or fuckin’ party central. It’s never too crowded or unsavory to handle being there, even on Friday and Saturdays, although it will get no-open-seats kind of packed. Especially on the weekends in summertime, you probably won’t find a place to sit if you show up too late. Definitely the best jukebox in town, and all the patrons there seem to have really awesome taste in music. The patio is nice– there are strand lights and there’s even a swing, plus outdoor speakers. It’s not damp, smelly and hella shady(like the one at Rumors). There’s always something crazy on the TV, too. I’ve seen everything from Futurama and obscure animé to boxing matches and Monster Garage. They’ve got a few pool tables and darts, too. This is the perfect bar for summer. Just make sure you tip extra-big, the staff rules!
