I grew up in the Santa Fe/Alvin area and I used to hit up Parks almost every week. It is okay, nothing to write home about. Iceberg lettuce-type salad, bland chicken-fried steak, okay mashed potatoes, etc. Hey-I guess you can’t go wrong if you are really, really hungry. What I like about this place is the friendly service. These people treat you like family. In this day & age, you can’t find that kind of friendliness. The food is okay, service is wonderful!

Absolutely the most disgusting food I’ve probably ever had. I was told by my waitress I couldn’t have menu items because I chose buffet. I didn’t know menu items where even a choice upon sitting down. After tasting the disgusting food served on the buffet line, I asked for just a regular burger(I thought you can’t go wrong with that) on the menu, I shot down her denial of my order by telling her I don’t care how much it costs, I want a burger. that sucked too. The patty was so dry I couldn’t chew it. This place is seriously just an all around horrible place to eat. Yuck. Couldn’t pay me to eat this

We love it! Lots of selections, with fresh salads and great vegetables.(I’m a vegetarian) My husband eats meat and he loves the variety. There is a daily soup that’s wonderful. This is one of my very favorite places to eat. The ambience is wonderful too — very friendly.

Love this old buffet place as I first came here in 1979 with my Grandpa. The food selection is pretty much the same in 2015 — country style buffet. The menu changes daily — nothing fancy at all. Some folks will consider it redneck and they are right, but the folks are very polite and friendly. Love the hard boiled eggs and salad bar and peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I get the fried chicken, chicken fried steak, fried fish, baked chicken are all great and I love their crab cakes as well. Lima beans, green beans, carrots and butter beans are wonderful. This place is not for everybody, particularly younger out of town visitors — you will be better off going to some trendy place in Clear Lake, not here as the crowd is predominantly old and this is visited mostly by local folks from Alvin. But if retro 70’s with game trophies on the wall is your cup of tea, you’ll enjoy it.

Always a good experience. Buffett style open seating. Good soup and salad. Been in business a long time for good reasons.

Greasy spoon buffet with a limited selection. The food was pretty good, but I couldn’t help thinking about my poor heart while I was eating it. Sausage, bacon, pork chops, biscuits with gravy, eggs three ways, two types of hashbrowns, two types of tator tots, french toast sticks, chicken fried steak sticks, pancakes, some kind of cheese egg roll thing, and jello. I wish they had some fruit or something a little healthier. They also had menudo though it was labeled as chicken enchilada soup. I think my boyfriend would give it 4 stars, but he’s a glutton for punishment. Everything is greasy. The servers are very friendly. The décor probably hasn’t changed since the 70s. It’s a bit like eating at grandma’s. And you probably will see plenty of grandmas there. Senior citizens love this place. We have been for dinner too and I think it was a little better, but I don’t remember specifics. Just down home country style food. I think there was cornbread, meatloaf, chicken fried steak, green beans. A little more balanced options. All in all, I’d say it’s ok.

Guess age and life experiences impact your perception of Parks I am not an old blue hair lady as was posted by another reviewer. This is a family restaurant where you are welcomed when you walk in the door Yes the décor is a bit dated but it adds to their charm Everything is so clean and the food is good home cooking We stop in here about twice a month because the buffet menu changes daily We have never been disappointed We were talking to the owner’s daughter and she informed us that they now have a breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays We are looking forward to trying it soon We like Parks because hubby likes fried foods and I like healthy foods They have a great balance of both And their homemade soups are worth the trip

We came here for a surprise 60th birthday party in the private back room. I don’t think this is the restaurant that you would do this sort of celebrating in unless your bald or have friend’s with blue hair. From what I was told by the local’s, the interior hasn’t changed since the 70’s and it can be described as pretty country, almost borderline red neck. I will admit that the homestyle buffet is a steal of a price for only $ 8.50 for the quantity of food you can serve yourself to eat. However, the quality doesn’t necessarily follow suit. Most things were mediocre. It almost reminded me of school cafeteria food. The separate room was nice if you need it for a group gathering as you can fit a large number of people in it and still be able to hear each other. We had at least 25 people in our party. And no matter how long this restaurant has been around, I’m glad that it doesn’t reek like stale cigarette smoke. Parks will always be an Alvin staple but one visit was good enough for me to get my fill.

I have been eating here for years The food is home style food with a cowboy twist. I am 53 years old. Not 20. The dacor has a cowboy style. If you like home style food, I think you will like it.

I’ve eaten here twice in the past. It’s home style buffet at its worst. For the love of god skip it. If what you enjoy is poorly cooked food and blue haired old women, or possibly NASCAR fans, then maybe. I’m sure if your favorite color is Hunting orange and camo. Or if you consider camo a color.
