Stopped for lunch. Even though the place was very busy, the service was incredibly fast. The food was very good. Ordered a margarita and it was made perfect! This is a place I will return to! We were visited by the waitress so often, never had to ask for much, she was already getting chips, salads salsa and drinks. The manager visited our table during our meal.

Dion was our server, and she was awesome! Kept the margaritas and the chips coming! Ann-Marie, the GM, stopped by to say hi. First the rice, done incredibly well. The beans are also very good. Cheese enchiladas needed more gravy. The beef fajita burrito was very good. We really enjoyed the margaritas.

The food is a huge disappointment. We spent almost $ 30 on two meals and one drink, probably won’t come here again.

Food was so-so… waitress wasn’t the greatest. She would walk up to the table and ask if we needed anything and we would all have empty glasses… Probably won’t visit there again…

Terrific food and service. I had their hamburger which was wonderful and huge. This is no Big Mac garbage here, folks. Their tortas are the best as well, better than a taqueria. Love this place and the red and green salsa and chips. Refried beans and rice done just right and enchiladas hot and cheesy.

Good food, PHENOMENAL service! Came in for lunch with my coworker. We were greeted right away by our waiter Jose. He made our day! He was very welcoming and exciting! His high energy rubbed off on us and we were already pretty psyched to eat here by the time chips and salsa came out. I had the fish tacos, not the best I’ve ever had, but pretty darn good! I like my fish grilled not fried, and thats exactly how they did it here. Would have liked more pico de gallo. The soft corn tortillas were very tasty! Overall pretty great for a place we just accidentally stumbled upon.

Everytime I go to Alvin, I pass this place and being a person who loves the hole in the walls, I have always wanted to go. My husband and I stopped in here on the way to a football game this past week. They were really crowded so we figured it would be good. The patio was awesome. Very shaded and nice. It took us ten minutes to get our margaritas. Those were okay. I got the queso cause that is how I judge a mexican restaurant :). It was nasty. I got a combo plate with a cheese enchilada, spinach enchilada and a Chili REllano. The spinach enchilada was disgusting and so was the cheese enchilada. The Chili Rellano was okay. That was the only thing I ate. My husband got tostadas and the meat was okay, not the best but it was more edible than my food. On the fifth and fifteenth of every month they have .55 margaritas. I could see us going back only for that and enjoying the patio but won’t go for a meal again.

Good deck, friendly waitstaff, decent prices, and large menu. Consistently clean with quickly bussed tables. I am allergic to cilantro. So, there are a few menu options that I can’t speak for. They make sure cilantro isn’t on my food as a garnish, hold sauces, and help me with food selection. Their burger is really good. It bumps them from a 3.5 to a 4 star. I enjoy the stuffed avocado and chicken sliders. Once, the sliders were too dry. However, that is not the norm. I order a chicken sandwich dressed like the chicken sliders. ’ love those fresh jalapeño buns. They don’t give me a hard time about off menu request or up charge me, outrageously. I am not a chain restaurant kind of person, but the manager cares in this location. The margaritas are affordable. The desserts are surprisingly good. Amazingly authentic… not really. It isn’t like Grandma is in the kitchen. It is spiced for the masses. If you tried Little Mexico before the menu change, give it another chance.

I eat at Monterey’s about once every 2 weeks. They have DELICIOUS spinach enchiladas. The crusted chicken with cilantro cream sauce is also wonderful. The tex-mex dishes are average. The manager is always attentive and the staff always friendly I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes inexpensive restaurants with a relaxing atmosphere.

Grease and cheese that sums it up. I was appalled people actually ate this food. Did not receive feedback from Monterey’s either. Staff was the best I ever had though!

We visited on april 222012 and I was not happy about the food I received. I ordered a texas burrito. The burrito had very little fajita meat and was stuffed with extra lettuce and canned refried beans. Half of the top of the burrito was covered in chili and the other half had cheese. Rice was missing from the entrée as well. When brought to the waiters attn, he looked very upset that i even said anything. Eventually problem was corrected. However waited a long time to get my food back and my children and boyfriend had finished eating. Forget family dinner time. I dont think ill come back. La Tapatia is down the road 3min from there and they have better food choices!

Show me a Mexican restaurant with no chile verde on the menu, and I’ll show you a decent place to eat with a great outdoor deck in a quaint town. Just no chile verde. This place caught my eye right away as we drove by one day. hard not to see the large redwood deck, lit, with umbrellas overlooking Main Street, USA. It was so me! I had to try it. With everyone else seated inside, we sat on the deck; where else? Drink orders placed the chips and salsa were brought out. I was surprised to see a decent guacamole as one of the two. I don’t see that at all in California! Not having my aforementioned favorite item on the menu left me shy of a choice when the time came to order. I ended up with some chicken enchilada con queso thingy. Either I’m not a con queso girl, or this was American cheese; or maybe a little of both. This dish was so bland and did nothing for me. Glad my granddaughter enjoyed it! I helped myself to a few more guac covered chips and life was still good! The fajitas looked piping hot delicious and for $ 11 were a great deal! The portions were overall were huge here, and they worked out our kid’s order to be how we wanted. There’s no question the outdoor dining was perfect. They even have their own squirrel family who comes down the large oak tree and takes chips off the deck railing that people have left for them. We had a relaxing, unhurried meal even if it wasn’t the greatest Mexican food this side of he border. 3 stars for food, 5 for service and hospitality making this visit 4 stars overall. Written in my travelogue: Pprobably a fun place to be for drinking margaritas on a hot summer night!
