I would really like to give this place more stars but I can’t. It’s clean. The free breakfast was very good. I had the biscuits and gravy twice and they were delicious. I really appreciated the free cookies at the front desk in the afternoon. Overall, it was clean and stylish. Everything is on the newer side, and you can see there have been some nice updates. But… we had to keep taking our key cards to the front desk because they wouldn’t work. The second day we were here, no one came to clean our room. When I called the front desk, they explained they had a lot of people check out that day, but, «Hey, I’m still here,» so I had to setlle for a delivery of fresh towels. I informed them we would be gone again in the early afternoon until late that evening, but when we returned at night, no one had been to our room. No replacement coffee, cups and glasses, no made bed, nothing. Then the weirdest thing kept happening. The ceiling fan works with a remote control and even though we never touched the remote, all day ANDNIGHT our ceiling fan light and fan would turn on and off by itself. Not pleasant being startled awake by a light suddenly popping on in the middle of the night, over and over again. What else… The fitness room is only OKAY. I could have had a more thorough workout with a set of dumbbells. The pool hours suck. 9pm is way too early. We were only able to enjoy the hot tub midday, never after our nightly business. Overall, this is a decent place to stay, but be prepared for some unusual surprises.

Not sure if something happened recently with a water main or something at the hotel, but there is a strong musty odor in the hotel. It even infested the sheets. Walking down the hall, you could see a long brown trail on the ceiling tiles where a leak had occurred. Dehumidifiers were constantly running in the halls and all of the art work on the walls were taken off. In the room bathroom, not a lot of dusting is done as you can see buildup on the vent. Poorly places hand rails in the front and back of the shower cause the shower curtain to leak water onto the tile floor. In my opinion, causing a worse scenario with a slick floor since the bathmat cannot soak up all the water. The layout of the room was great, though the TV would not pull out from the cubby it was in so it could be easily seen from the bed. Initially the TV remote did not work and the office chair was missing from the room. Luckily we checked in early, so another room which was left open by the staff, we were able to poach the chair and remote. Staff is polite and attentive. There were cheerleaders staying in the hotel running up and down the hall and slamming doors. Staff came up to put an end to the noise.

This La Quinta was very clean inside and out and had fairly spacious rooms. I like to travel with my pet and they are 100% pet friendly at this location. One of the managers was just pooch gaga! They have a full free breakfast. My only gripe about this place is the odd location. Most mapping shows it somewhere else, but it’s actually off 35 and HOUSE st. south of the Walmart. Also, when exiting you have to always make a U-turn to get back north… kinda inconvenient. It wasn’t far from train tracks but once inside I couldn’t hear a thing, nor could I hear anything in the hall or neighboring rooms. That is really unusual in a good way.
