My family and I have stopped here twice on our way through. The first time they were a couple minutes from closing(not according to the website) and were very rude after we spent over $ 100 dollars on wine. The second time we walked in and asked how long the tour was and the staff«didn’t know» and was very rude about it. She said something to us about taste testing so we hung around the store and nobody said a word to us, so we walked out. Very disappointed in the rude staff both times.

Stopped there while in Arkansas for a couple of days. The tour was already closed by the time we reached there(just after 4) but really enjoyed the generous tastings. The bartender was friendly too. Really liked the Port, and left with a couple of bottles!

We just tried to stop there and they were closed. Their website said they opened at 10:30 on Sundays so we planned our drive through Arkansas to stop. Unfortunately a paper sign on the front indicated seasonal hours and they don’t open until noon. I wish their website had been up-to-date.

Don’t know a lot about wine, but stopped here on a quick trip to AR. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming; they answered all our silly questions and gave lots of information about the interesting history of the winery. If you’re in the area, stop by! We left with the white muscadine, red moscato, and a traditional red. All three are great!

The wine tour is about fifteen minutes long. The place is really cute. The staff is nice. The gift shop is nice and wine selection is even bigger. The best part is the tastings are free. Free is a great way to enjoy a few wines.

My husband and I had so much fun here! There tasting room is great with many wonderful wine gifts and really friendly hosts! We loved tasting EVERYTHING and it was free! The prices at this place are amazing! Especially for the quality of wine! I wish we love much closer, we fell in love with the white port and at 5 a bottle we left with a case! Don’t pass this one up!

For 32 years, I lived in California, the last 13 in the Sonoma Valley where there are over 250 wineries. Over the course of time, I have come to appreciate fine wines and am especially fond of the many spectacular offerings from the Sonoma/Napa valleys. Two years ago, I moved to East Tennessee where there are a few vineyards around, but they don’t even hold a candle to what my palate has become accustomed. So, it was with great delight that I stumbled across a Post Family Chardonnay at a local Valero Station while traveling through Arkansas on a cross-country trip from California to Knoxville. My son, a Level One Sommelier, accompanied me on this trip. We saw this Chardonnay while browsing the wine selections at a Valero gas station and convenience market. At $ 6.99 a bottle, we thought, «what the heck,» and bought two bottles to enjoy with our dinner this evening. At dinner, we both were pleasantly impressed. This delightful wine was very surprising with a bold forward fruity apple taste, and a smooth clean grapefruity finish. This would pare well with seafood, of which I am quite fond, as well as a cold summer salad. My only complaint is that it is «Bottled for sale only in Arkansas.» ;-(

I’m local and drive by the winery almost daily. Having moved from Washington state and having lived in California, I’m a hard to please wine snob. This is by far my favorite Arkansas winery. Great selection of wine, grape juice and port. A true gem founded in 1880. Post offerings make a regular pairing with food in our home. Good wine alone does not make a great winery. The Post family and their staff are happy, gracious hosts.

Visited Post Winery with family and friends. Post is currently remodeling their tasting room and gift shop. A temporary tasting room and shop are now located behind the main processing buildings, just follow the gravel road along the pond and to the well landscaped patio behind the main building. As we are long time fans of Post Wines, we just tried two new wines. Prophecy is a new grape varietal being patented by Post. There is a 2009 and a 2010 vintage. We tried the 2009 vintage which the staff said was a bit sweeter then 2010. Prophecy lived to its predicted taste — good aroma and flavor. We finished with a taste of Post’s new Zin Tornado, a blend of Zinfandel and brandy. Sweet and punchy. Definitely a desert wine and a 750 ml bottle is just right for a family gathering or small holiday party. While the wine virgins in our group continued tasting, we sat outside on the picnic tables and enjoyed the surrounding gardens. Saw both a hummingbird and a hummingbird moth visit the gardens along with many butterflies. Nearby Mount Magazine is famous for the variety of butterflies found on its slopes. While the temporary tasting area is not child friendly, children would love to stroll along the pond and see the geese and ducks.

My favorite of our mini winery tour! Loved this place! Although not a lot to look at, this little place is well worth your stop! We had a great tasting with Miss Barbie(thank you for great service!). She explained all of the wines and grapes, and described the flavors and what we should taste. Try the Prophecy 2009! It is made from grapes cultivated at this very vineyard! I also opted for a blush! If you know anything about me, this is a HUGE step away from my deep reds, but it was too good to pass up! A mix of red and white Muscadine! The shop has by the bottle and by the case sales as well as wine gadgets galore! They even have jams, hot sauces, and vinegars. If you find a taste you like, buy it… because of AR Law(FREETHEWINE), they can’t ship it!

I heard that Arkansas has seven wineries. So here’s 3 of 7. Post Winery seems to be the largest and most commercialized of the Arkansas wineries. The buildings certainly have that look, yet a certain warmth exists in the tasting room where knowledgeable and friendly staff were eager to present their wines. Not just limited to Arkansas and south/midwest grape varieties, this is a winery where just about everyone can find something to their liking. Worth stopping by for a broad introduction to Arkansas wines.

Post is a nice place to stop, has a good wine selection but it doesn’t feel special like a few of the others: Mt. Bethel & Aux Arc. We did enjoy their muscadine wine and bought a few of their spice mix for gifts!

Drove by this not-so-eye-catching winery on the way up the hill to Wiederkehr Winey, and didn’t stop. Disappointed. So on way down the hill, stopped at Post. We were treated like valued guests. Staff happy, enjoying their job, if not life. Shop was full of wine specific gadgets, well lit, friendly little place. Wine tasting was enthusiastic and informative, unlike the previous winery. Their wines were fantastic! Was only aware of some of their box wines, so didn’t think they had something worth buying. Having been to many wineries across the country, their little size became irrelevant. A few picnic tables outside, and we took a blanket, bottle of their zinfandel, chunk of their cheese they sold in their shop, and a small basket of their local grapes to a shaded and somewhat private spot across the street. Don’t let their small outside appearance deter you from checking them out.
