There aren’t many gay bars in Central PA so I’m giving this one four stars JUST FOR EXISTING. Thank you, Rumors.
I went here a lot when it first opened, around 1999. I can’t really speak about what the place is like these days. I stopped in about a year ago and made the mistake of going on 18 and over night, which sucked for me. But not for those between 18 – 21.
I’m just really happy that a place exists where gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, questioning, and curious peeps can gather in Altoona, PA. Since it’s sort of an all purpose gay club and one of the only ones around, the crowd is varied and eclectic. Old lesbian couples sit side by side with raver twinks. And everyone seems to get along just fine.
The website bills it as a club for «alternative lifestyles.» That’s small town speak for gay, honey.
This is a review for the club downstairs, not the restaurant upstairs, FYI.
