This is a good establishment and the staff works very hard.

I’m a big fan of St Louis Bread Co, but the experience I had this morning was horrible. I stopped by the drive thru since l was on a tight schedule. With one person in front of me, it still took ten minutes to reach the window. I then was told the computer was down and being rebooted. Five minutes or so later, still nothing. Eventually another worker opens the window and says she’s re-ringing the order but not charging me for the frozen mocha(I never ordered a frozen mocha). She finally found our sandwich, which I paid full price for. It was cold, hard, burnt, and made incorrectly… I didn’t have time to complain since I was late and there were about 7 cars behind me by then. I’ll never be going back to this location.

First time over her in Alton and we were early for a dentist appointment so we said hey let’s get some food. The staff was very friendly. I’m diabetic and have to count carbs. The cashier was. More than happy to look up the carbs for the chocolate chip muffin and the blueberry bagel. I don’t go to Alton but if I do cross the river again I’d definitely come back

This Bread Co is near my office, so I thought I would stop for a bagel and coffee. It was all the server could do was wait on me. I wanted to give her my rewards number, here response Okay fine… On Tuesday they have the bakers dozen for $ 6.99 Again the server looked at me. I told her have fun with it give me whatever makes her happy. Once again I don’t think she liked my response. I also wanted two coffees to go, I asked for creamer containers, yep I did not get them… They need to take this server off of the front line, she is ruining this Bread Co.

I have had a few rude cashiers at this location, which is why I’m voting 3⁄5. I’m not the customer that orders 8 bags full of food in the drive-up either. I typically get a coffee and pastry item, which have always been acceptable in quality. It’s aggravating when a basic order turns sour with no ‘thank you’ to leave with.

I was really happy back when this opened and Alton finally had a nice coffee shop with extensive open hours that you could sit, drink coffee, and read in. I don’t live in Alton anymore, but when I’m home, I typically visit this location once or twice. I do think it’s corny that it has a drive-through, and it’s not as awesome as if Alton had a funky indie coffeehouse, but it’s as good as it gets in this town.
