Wow! Wow! Wow! I totally love this place. I found Marrakech Express yesterday, searching with all my might for a salon that provides shellac manicures, as the place I went to prior was horrible and I didn’t want to go back. The owner/operator, very well-meaning, talked incessantly aboout the tragedy of Vietnam and the horror of Chinese policts. I sympathize, but this is not good manicure conversation. ‘Nuff said… So I saw a favorable review on dear old Unilocal and called for an appointment. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and helpful, pleasant and welcoming. I arrived and was greeted by a group of lovely and charming women, all of whom were sweet and friendly. The salon, while small, is beautifully furnished and decorated and I was charmed the moment I walked in the door. Shannon, angel of angels, got started on my nails. She applied herself to her task, as I sipped on a complementary glass of wine. Heaven! To complicate matters(oh, yes!), I had two little red acrylic bows adhered to my ring finger nails, souvenirs of a Las Vegas vacation. These little decorations, so innocent looking, gave Shannon the challenge of her worst nightmares, and she exerted all her knowledge, skill, and expertise to remove these things, which she eventually did, after some proverbial blood, sweat, and tears. At all times, she was kind and professional, doing a fantastic job on my nails. There was no mention of politcs of any nature(thank Goddess!) and we had a wonderful girly, salon-appropriate chat. My nails, nicely hot pink and glittery, are gorgeous. They are well-shaped and the shellac is perfectly applied. I am so happy! Yes, I will go back. You should call right now and make an appointment. Really.
