Always love stopping by when in the area. Got the tomatoes. .always a must when you live in Florida. The boiled peanuts are always good. I got something from the food stand for the first time. The slaw dog reminded me of what I got as a kid at the Dixie City lunch counter… delicious!

Well, I arrived at 11:41 am with a group of people to pick some fresh strawberries… We waited in line and was informed that they did not allow anymore customers to pick fresh strawberries. We also paid 5 dollars for something we did not ride on. What a waste of my time. Although they did say they had strawberries at the local jaemor market which is in walking distance. I bought some and was happy yet disappointed. The store already picked the strawberries for you. I wanted to experience picking strawberries so 2 stars only. I walked by to see if they still had strawberries on the farm, they do! Go to Washington farms~

I have been visiting Jaemor Farms off and on for years. The quality of the fruits and vegetables is remarkable. There are activities all throughout the year. Our favorite is the corn maze and pumpkin patch.

Peanuts fruits and rutabaga Faemor Farms is a 150 acre or so farm that has been around since about 1912. Started as a family business it kept growing and growing and now sells, fruits, veggies, ice cream, pies and other treats as well as boiled peanuts and even BBQ. The name Jaemor is actually an acronym of the first letters of several family members. A very cool place to walk around and look at all the different items. There is even a little gift shops where you can get crummy t-shirts and some furniture items. All the different and rather incongruous items is one of the things that makes this place so cool. Most of the stuff is local and availability depends on the time of year. We even saw three rather sad looking rutabagas sitting in a box but the kid working there didn’t know exactly where they came from. A very cool place that I enjoyed visiting very much. We didn’t have the BBQ so I don’t know what that is like and I sure as hell wouldn’t eat those boiled peanuts. But so many other things are both tasty and cool.

Very cute place, lots of things to do. We went to the market, and it was stocked with all sorts of goodies. We ended up buying honey, elderberry jam, apple butter, a cinnamon broom, dried bananas and dried apples. Considering we drove in from Fort Benning, we were expecting some good old Southern hospitality but I suppose we came in too close to closing time for their liking because while I was in line for ice cream and fried pies the workers helped the people in front of me but then ignored me standing there, began closing up their registers and printing their receipt logs. No looking up at me at all. I felt quite embarrassed and quite frankly it stung a bit. A ‘sorry we’re closing up for the day’ or anything would have been nice, but to act as if I’m invisible was a bit much. Needless to say I’ll try a different place closer to home next year, even though we had planned on going back to do the rest of the activities we had missed this time.

This place is fantastic. We came here today to pick apples, cucumbers, squash and corn. All for $ 21. Then we came to the market where we had ice cream. The BEST strawberry, peach, and vanilla ice cream I have had. Not to mention, the people who dedicate their life and time to this place are simply organic and wonderful. We learned so much while riding from field to orchard. They tell you so much about what they are doing. Why they are doing it, the process, how big they are, etc. Also found out they are at the Flowery Branch Farmers Market on Thursdays. Looks like I’ll be heading north Thursday evenings! Can’t wait to come back for their dinners and corn maze. Also, more apple picking in Sept!

Picked some blackberries today. $ 15 a bucket. Fill er up! Extremely polite staff member drove us to the plot. They got big ones. Just have to go to the back of the plot. Everybody there is nice and very helpful. I go there a lot for bulk veggie buys. Worth the drive if you enjoy supporting local grown produce. Social media(FB) keeps me up to date on picking seasons and other useful info about the farm.

Per the Hype, I had high expectations, which were defLated quickLy by the prices, which are not in any shape. form or fashion refLective of Farmers Market standards. I actually didn’t think this place was worth the drive coming from 40 miles away. I guess if you live close by this might be worth it. The prices are pretty descent for all of the fresh fruit. They do have alot of package stuff that the farms makes. Its kind of touristy for those items, but it also doesn’t look like it moves. Alot of the items towards the back have dust on them. The fried pies were whatever. I don’t think it was that much better than the prepackage one in the front of the supermarket. The ice cream to me as the best. Its soft serve really and isnt really ice cream. They also advertise dole whip which was just pineapple soft serve. Definitely not dole whip. So for me. It wasnt worth the drive. If I lived 10 miles away, yea I’d prob come back.

Fun for young, old, and in between. Good peach and strawberry ice cream and boiled peanuts. Very southern, and sweet as pie. One star was taken for still using artificial dyes in some items.

A fun place to go with your family. Seems to have a really good produce selection. Amazing assortment of pickled, jarred, and jellied fruits and veggies. Btw the pickled hot okra is really hot! Boiled peanuts we’re ok. Not great. The fried pies we’re pretty good too. We’ll definetly go back for peaches in a few weeks and apples in the fall. Nice outing for the family. We live about a half hour away, so it is worth that much time with the whole family to go several times a year. We didn’t try the bbq but there was a line. Not sure if that means anything. Pretty local place. Most everything looked to be local grown or produced. Not sure about the jellies and such but the baked goods and most of the produce were local. I really don’t know if it was«organic». Or mostly organic. I didn’t really notice signs stating«organic» but I wasn’t really looking for it.

July 2015 Update: Went blackberry pickin’, this is a one day only event. Ripe and large crop selection. Funny staff had us laughing about customers who come to complain about how expensive apples are right now during summer… key word is that it’s summer. Apples aren’t in season until fall, sweety. Plus this market goes back into the community who grew their crop & have it for sale, so the profit they make goes right back into that crop and whatever leftover pays their power bills. People, this is an organic market so it will be more expensive here, no doubt. But it’s so worth it. I simply CANNOT figure out why no other Gwinnettians or Atlantans know of organic market! The drive is worth it, friends. We can our produce such as beans and tomatoes and onions and use other items for yummy salads and so on. The case of tomatoes(for you caning junkies) saves you about 30 cents per tomato. The fried pies are a must-try for newbies. The Chow Chow is one of our favorites to go with home cooked cabbage or on top of green beans. As far as selection goes, items vary with season. Basics like squash and beans, all sorts and types of squash and beans may I add, are normally at hand at all times. We make a drive up here about three times a year to buy in bulk vegetables and then can what we’re able to. A great idea for those who enjoy truly organic food.

Make a day trip and check out this place. Most products are made there or local(jams, honey, BBQ, breads, cider, cheese, etc). This is my go-to place on the weekends to stock up on fresh produce. They have a variety and only carry what’s in season so you know it’s fresh(and taste better than anything you would buy at the grocery store). Win-win. There is also a BBQ walk-up window which I haven’t tried yet, but always small delicious and has people sitting outside enjoying the food. I recently went there when my family was in town and they had a huge fall event that a lot of families brought their kids to. I would call and ask for a list of events to see if it’s something the whole family would like. Bonus: They also have boiled peanuts!

Yesterday I attended their Georgia Belle Peach Festival(so named because Georgia Belle is a variety of peach that is typically ready to pick at this time of year). It was the perfect day. I entered the Peach Cookoff(they also do a strawberry cookoff at their Strawberry Festival in the spring). At the festival, they had games for the kids, hayrides, and pick your own peaches. I grew up going to an orchard every summer to pick peaches but most peach orchards no longer allow people to pick their own. This is the perfect summer activity for the whole family. On an average day at the market, you can find a wide variety of fresh produce and Georgia grown products. You definitely do not want to miss the homemade peach ice cream or the fried pies. Jaemor is much more than your average farm stand/local market. If you’re near Alto, it’s definitely a place you won’t want to miss!

This one of those markets that us southern people like to go when in the area because there are all kinds of goodies to be had. Jams made of fresh fruit Local honeys, filtered, unfiltered and some with the comb. Boiled peanuts plain no Cajun, Fried pies in flavors like chocolate, apple, cherry, strawberry, sweet potato these are just a few of the«wet» others«dry». The difference between the two is that the filling in the wet is pie filling and the dry is sliced or paste like. I like both. B.b.q. sadly haven’t had it. Fresh Chicken salad and Pimento cheese are in to go containers to be enjoyed later as are cakes, half loaves and loafs of breads. Don’t forget to grab some cider before you leave especially when in season.

Always worth the drive when I’m in town. The folks are friendly and they have the freshest produce around. The prices are competitive with the local grocery stores. Wander to the far end of the store so you can sample the ice cream and fried pies, they’re worht the trip alone.

Fresh homemade ice cream. I think I can just stop right there. Lol. So the perk of this place is their fresh strawberry and peach ice cream. Since it is a farm, there’s also fresh baked goods, fruits, veggies, and misc items made locally(i.e. candles, décor, etc.). This is a fairly spacious place. There’s also a place to grab some snacks if you’re craving a quick bite(where the ice cream is at). Visit this place and enjoy the organic and fresh products. Why not? It’s a good place to support the local community. The employees were super sweet and friendly. Prices aren’t bad either.

This is a surprising farmer’s market outside of Atlanta. Not too much to say about it, other than there is a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and preserves at an affordable price. If you are looking for a vast collection of jams and preserves, I’d definitely give this place a visit. Just remember to bring a cooler with you for transport back to Atlanta.

I’ve passed this place many times on my way to Gatlinburg Tennessee and Tallulah Gorge, but until today I’ve never stopped. My hiking buddy mentioned he saw a PBS program that claimed the BBQ here was some of the best in Georgia. Really? We’ll just have to put that claim to the test. — — — — — - — - - THEEXPERIENCE The little BBQ shack is on the far right end of the parking lot, so we decided to check out the market first. Every food lover would most likely be excited by the fresh assortment of farm goodness on display here. Gorgeous rows of vegetables and fruits, like the giant juicy peaches looking incredibly ripe near the entrance. I could just imagine breaking the skin with my teeth only to get that splash of juicy goodness a ripe peach can give. So many things caught my eye(like the local honey), but I absolutely couldn’t leave without two items: A) GREEN peanuts are a Georgia delicacy that when boiled properly, are the best! I took them home right away and made a whole pot of boiled cajun style peanuts for my family. It took me years to get used to boiled peanuts, but now I love them. B) On the far left side of the store is a restaurant that sells fruit fritters and farm made ice cream. We decided to split a peach fritter and vanilla ice cream. The fried pie was okay, but not as good as the Hostess Fruit Pies I grew up loving. — — — — — - — - - BAR-B-QUE However, the main reason for the visit was the BBQ. The little elderly lady running the shack was a true Southern Belle if I’ve ever met one. Sweet as pie and got our orders out in a hurry. That’s the good. The bad was for $ 10 the portion size was less than I expected this far outside of civilization. I thought I would at least get a half a slab., instead I got 3 measly baby back sized bones. If that weren’t bad enough, they were bland and CLEARLY boiled. What a shame. I will never understand why anyone boils ribs. Completely kills the flavor of the pork. Here you go Hon! / /Thank you! one bite two bites o o /o /o /o |\* –| |\* |\* |\__trash | | ’ | /\ | |X| — — — — — - — - - THEVERDICT If you were told to come here for some of the best ribs in Georgia… let me inform you thusly [Big Bang Theory] they LIED! Come for the Farmer’s Market and family fun activities like the corn maze in the fall, but not the BBQ. In short, these ribs are only for people with really bad taste in food.
