Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Valvoline bad service saga continued: So Valvoline’s customer service contacted me after my post as you can see in their response. After a couple of emails going back and forth about the bad… no, worst… no, NO service I got at the Alt. Sprgs station, I never heard back from customer service. At least Valvoline is consistent… their response to customer complaints is just as bad as their service smh smh smh

First off, I went to a different location first. I went to the Valvoline location in Casselberry at 1315 State Road 436, Casselberry, FL 32 707.
After about 20 minutes of sitting around at the Casselberry location, the guy very apologetically told me that they stripped the drain plug on my Chevy Cruze, and could not get the plug off at all. He apologized profusely and told me that this location in Altamonte would have the tools to remove the drain plug.
So I went directly to the 102 E Altamonte location. All the employees were super friendly, and had no problem getting the ruined drain plug off. I sat in my car for what I thought was a routine oil change.
Then I noticed one of the techs calling out my car info to the manager who was looking up something on the computer. Then I noticed them huddling and having a discussion. One of the techs approached me and very nicely informed that they do not have the exact replacement plug. *So they started this whole process without every checking to make sure they had the correct parts in stock*.
Then I noticed another tech (the one who actually works under the car) pretty much arguing with the manager saying that he had another plug that fits, even though its not listed as the correct plug in the computer. The manager was insisting they only use what’s listed. Then the guy who talked to me originally asks me to please get out of my car and wait in the waiting room because they are going to have to order the plug. In other words, I have to wait for a runner to deliver the part from a part store.
Up until this point, I was pretty calm about all this. Things happen, and they were all trying to the right thing.
But then… after waiting about 15 minutes, a guy comes in and tells me ‘All done’. Wait, what happened to ordering the right plug? That must be one heck of a parts runner, who delivered it in only 15 minutes. HA. Yeah right… but by now, I was tired (this was after work on a Friday) and I just wanted to get home, so I paid and left.
Then a day later my wife informs me that my car is leaking oil. Not a fast leak, but a slow one. It took a day to even see a small puddle… BUT… an oil leak is an oil leak and not good at all. I looked underneath the car and the drain plug was where the oil was leaking from. I also checked the dipstick and realized that the oil was WAY overfilled. Not just a little bit over the line, but significantly over the line.
So I woke up early and headed to the same location at 102 E Altamonte. Oddly enough, these guys (completely different crew) were NOT as friendly as the guys I dealt with yesterday. I explained the situation and the employee quickly became impatient. The guy under the bay then started saying things like ‘the plug is wet’, but in an impatient tone that told me he didn’t want to do anything about it. The guy I talked to then just repeated what the guy under the bay said, and acted like it was no big deal. «You can’t just replace the plug?» I asked. His response was that if they did that, the oil would drain out.
That’s when I got pissed off and told him forget it. ‘The oil would drain out’… really??? You don’t say? I didn’t realize that’s how gravity works. Its called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Your company has essentially screwed up my car, so you should FIX your mistake, even it means having to take the hit on a couple of quarts of oil. I know many people would argue that I should have sat there and demanded more, but no way I was going to let these inept and unwilling ‘techs’ touch and potentially cause more problems.
Next time I’m changing my own oil. Its not all that hard and I can’t trust these pseudo-​mechanics who make excuses to be lazy. I had been to the Casselberry locations many times with no problems, so it was disappointing to have all this begin with them. A car is not something to take lightly, one small leak can potentially lead to a giant leak in your wallet.
It has been a few months since all this happened and the car still leaks, yet the oil is STILL overfilled. Did they overfill it knowing it would leak? Horrible, I do not trust Valvoline to do a simple oil change, I do not trust this location to fix their mistake, and I definitely do not trust them with any other car repairs. Never going back to this or any Valvoline location again.

If you have car problems do not come here. I went and got the car in worse shape. Went driving back and forth with them four different times. I went to a different place after I had enough and they fixed it. Save yourself the trouble.
