When i visited the Altamonte location I bought a fairly price beach tent and an army mat for it, along with a couple of other small accessories. I didn’t mind the slightly higher prices to pay our vets who work there. Good quality stuff, friendly staff.

Looking for a hat pin? Perhaps you’re interested in a mildly bigoted motorcycle helmet sticker? Need to prep for the impending end of society due to earthquake/supervolcano/gay marriage? Al’s Army Navy has a wide assortment of military surplus items to fit whatever you’re looking for. Yes, it’s a little pricey and the staff seem super paraniod, but when you need a canteen or ammo cannister where else can you go? I got a few things here, didn’t hate the experience, but would prefer a typical outdoors shop more often than not.

I used to love this store, But we bought an air soft gun that cost 90.00 dollars which turned out to be defective, and they don’t have anymore in stock and now they won’t refund our money. They will only give us a store credit. and The next gun up is $ 170.00.I could see if we just didn’t like it but it doesn’t work! Now we don’t have money to go buy one anywhere else. TOTALBULLSH*T

This is a big Army/Navy store with locations all over town. I would hesitate to call it a «surplus» store because most of their merchandise is new and priced at retail. Despite that they’ve got all kinds of great stuff packed in from wall to wall. I go there for camping equipment. They have everything that the large-scale outdoor stores have and it’s all priced very well. If you’re not a camper they have a lot of other stuff too. I’ve noticed a lot of hunting equipment as well. They even have a small selection of firearms and ammo. They carry a good amount of paintball equipment too. Paintball really isn’t my thing so I can’t comment on their prices. Aside from that you can find all the other things you would expect from a surplus store like military uniforms, boots, and knives and so on. The staff is very helpful. They’re not the slimiest bunch in the world but they’re very knowledgeable about the store and their products.

This Al’s in Altamonte is slightly smaller than the one on OBT. The selection is about the same, and as a female, I always struggle to find sizes at these stores. They did have a pair of women’s boots for me but the did not have my size in a certain brand pant I was looking for. They can order it, but that means making another trip out here. The sales associates were helpful but a tad condescending. Conveniently located but still your typical no frills army store.
