Spa Nail 9

I’ve been going here every two weeks since they opened and I have only had great experiences! Peter and Amy run a clean, friendly shop. They remember my name and everyone always welcomes me. They even gave me a Christmas gift and a gift before I had my baby! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This place is AMAZING! I have lived all over and have never found a place that is so attentive and meticulous. I can’t say enough good things about this place, they are just wonderful. The place is clean and professional and the staff is so friendly. They give the best ANC manicures I have ever had. Additionally, they give great massages!

I am surprised to see any negative reviews for this nail salon. I ALWAYS have a great experience and the folks are pleasant, timely and do a very nice job. They no longer do the paraffin for regular manicure — but I understand and was surprised it was included in the first place. It is still included in basic pedicure. I have 6 friends who now travel from Albany because they came once with me to get their nails done… every time.
I have never done acrylic, vinyl or anc… so I cannot speak for that. But if you want a great mani/​pedi — this is the place to go!

Unfortunately, I have yet another update for Spa Nail 9. I went to this nail salon quite regularly, and about a month ago I visited for a gel manicure. The nail tech used a nail file with too much grit, and and unfortunately, my gel manicure came out bumpy and messy. (I could have done better myself.)
I will not be returning.

This is the best nail salon I have ever gone to. I travel for work so I have been to many. This salon is clean, clean, clean. Peter & his wife own & work in the salon. They really know how to make each person feel welcome. I am not in the area anymore but I wanted to give them this awesome review because they have truley earned it. If I’m up that way again I will make a special trip to get a mani/​pedi.

The first time I went here, they were very welcoming and attentive. I had a basic mani-​pedi with the complimentary paraffin and massage. Very nice and I raved about the place to my friends.
But the next time I went (on a Saturday) for an ANC manicure (similar to gel) I felt rushed along. No paraffin, no massage. I’m not high-​maintenance, but those added touches were nice and set Spa Nail 9 apart from other nail salons I’ve been to in Albany. The manicure was ok, nothing to rave about.
I went back on a week night to have the ANC polish removed as it’s difficult to do it yourself. They weren’t busy and I got right in. The nail tech soaked my nails in acetone for a short time, and rather than waiting for the remover to work, she used the power dremel tool and not-​so-​gently buffed my nails to remove the polish. Several times I asked her not to do it and said that it was uncomfortable, but she kept right on. Another tech stopped by and suggested she soak my nails some more, but she continued with the dremel. At that point, I should have walked out. But didn’t. And I paid $ 20 for it. Lesson learned.
The result is that my (formerly healthy) nails are very fragile and peel easily. A month later now, a layer of nail is growing back, and although there’s a definite ridge between old and new, it’s progress towards healthy nails again.
Bottom line… Spa Nail 9 is ok for a basic mani-​pedi, but I don’t recommend the ANC treatment.

This is my new nail place. I am very particular about my nails, and this place blew me away. Peter helped me today, I received a fill and color with gel, he was so articulate and gentle. While my nails were drying he also gave me an amazing massage. Super clean an they do monthly drawing for free pedicures. Check them out!
