The atmosphere is totally late 70s, which is ok with me. I’ve eaten a lifetime of south side pizza, and it’s all pretty similar, so I don’t know how people on here can proclaim this«the best.» Everyone has their favorites, I suppose. I thought it was solid and well-made, with crispy(though not quite cracker-thin) crust, and generous toppings, but it wasn’t some great flavor revelation. The sauce seemed a little bland. The pizza was not greasy, though, despite the sausage. I ordered extra cheese and the top came out white. Could have used a little more top-browning. Service was fast and friendly. The«sangria» was like Kool Aid. The cheese sticks were… different… enormous — as someone else said, nearly the size of twinkies — though the breading was bland and a little overfried. Came with a side of very sweet marinara. They were the sort of thing you keep eating because you’re hungry, not because they’re especially good. Warning: this is the sort of place where stupid adults let their ill-trained, ants-in-the-pants, noisy, bawling children have the run of the place, oblivious to other diners, and naturally the management doesn’t do anything about it. Really the place deserves 2 ½ stats, but two seemed sort of stingy, so that’s why I gave 3.

This is the pizza place of choice when it comes to my family. Anytime I ask my dad where he wants pizza, the first thing he says is «How about you go to Nino’s?» This place is exactly what you should be looking for. You can call for carry out, or you can sit down and eat with you family. It’s also a great place for a date, in my opinion. Just sayin’, fellas. But serious, I would definitely recommend this place. The pizza is awesome, and if you’re pizza is big enough(an 18″, I believe), you get not one, so TWO one liters of your choice. They have a wide variety to choose from, so you don’t have to settle with something like an RC. Plus, as I found out last time I came in, if you sign up for their text alerts, you get half off your pizza on every Monday! That’s like $ 12 for an 18″! Now, don’t hold to that exact deal, but I believe it was something along those lines. Come in and ask for yourself! Tell your friends that you found a winner in Nino’s Pizza.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, just an all around great pizza place. Went with a group for a cast party after a play at Morgan Park Academy, and it was a great time. Great for groups, I think that was the winning thing tonight. Definitely going to remember this for future needs.

Awesome pizza and food. Excellent value. Buy a groupon or get the Monday texts for half off pizza. Go and try it. You will not be disappointed. Good place for sports teams. We have been there with soccer, basketball, and hockey teams.

I remember Nino’s from the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago in the 50s and 60s. Nino’s was the best then and is still among the best pizza in town. I only eat thin-crust, and Nino’s is really excellent; thin and very crispy crust. If you like your greens, their house salad dressing is absolutely excellent. Don’t know what I want more — the pizza or the salad. you can buy the dressing to take home. I think there is one bad review on Unilocal for Nino’s…must have gotten them on a bad day. It’s an old-fashioned, not fancy, but great pizza joint.

Let me tell anyone that’s wondering that this place is the best. I live in Southern California and I fly out 4 times a year JUSTTOEATHERE! Now obviously I can afford to do that, BUT If I lived within 2 hours I would be there every week! Don’t listen to the haters that rate this place low they must like Papa johns Tom and the gang do one thing and that’s make tasty pies and pasta. God bless Nino’s!!! See you guys soon! and Go Cubs Go!!!

First time going to Nino’s pizza. Pizza was edible, had better, had much worse. But what really turned me off is the physical condition of this place. Made me worry what the condition of there kitchen, refrigeration, and ovens look like. The bathrooms were disgusting and that is being kind. The were filty and literally falling apart. The whole place looked and felted dirty., they clearly don’t care what it looks like. I will never go there again and I will tell my family and friends not to go thrre. I didn’t quite understand how they are able to keep their clientele, since it was busy and they were not struggling for customers. I don’t get it because my stomach turned when I saw that bathroom. some should call the health department because it was that bad.

I have lived my whole life in the south suburbs. I have ordered pizza from just about every place there is… well except Little Cesar’s and until recently, Nino’s. We came here for a gathering of people when a friend was in town and craving some good pizza. Apparently if you move out of Chicago, you have to binge eat pizza when back home. So we ended up here with a group of people. The service wasn’t spectacular or anything amazing. The server took orders and brought drinks but not super face and didn’t chatter with us. To be fair, we looked like a younger group(though most of us are getting up there in age) and she might not be expecting good tips from us. But it was all worth it when the pizza arrived. We got thin crust with pepperoni and mushrooms. The pizza was piping hot and delicious. If I was a terrible person, I would have snagged the leftovers and told the friend from out of town too bad. But I nicely let them take home the leftovers. I was surprised that I had never been to this place, never tried their pizza, but also that nobody told me how good the pizza tastes here! I mean, what are friends for if they don’t tell you about places like these! The ambiance is a little dive-y with the red-checkered table cloths, crappy old big screen tv’s, and very dim lighting. It doesn’t exactly scream cheerful and happy, but at the same time, you get that environment in crappy corporate chain restaurants. I’d rather come here and have good food and not care what the place looks like. So don’t let the atmosphere scare you away. Stick around for a freshly made pizza before making any judgments. Definitely worth a try! My partner came back again without me(jerk) and had a sandwich and some other menu items then raved about how good they were(again, jerk). I can’t wait to come back again soon!

Best pizza in the Oak Lawn/South side of Chicago area by far. The pizza sauce is home made and tastes fresh. Even the dough tastes great. I love that they have both deep dish and thin crust, both for a reasonable price. My wife and daughter like the thin crust, while my sons and I prefer the deep dish. My only complaint is that it tends to take a long time to get the pizza after ordering(usually 45 minutes or more). But it is a small price to pay for fresh, made to order pizza. I usually call in my order in advance, so that helps cut down on the wait time.

My wife and I are Chicago born and bred, and Chicago is a pizza mecca. We’ve had the luck and joy of experiencing nearly every top-rated pizza place in the area: Chesdan’s, Gino’s, Phil’s, Vito & Nick’s, Palermo’s, Malnati’s, Home Run Inn, Piece, Lugano’s, etc., etc. But Nino’s has been our go-to pizza place for the past 10 years. We are fans of thin-crust, and Nino’s does it right. A little corn meal on the bottom of a crisp, cracker-crust, toppings piled high, sweet yet spicy sauce with more than enough gooey mozz that you don’t even need to say«extra cheese» if that’s something you’re used to saying! If you have the opportunity to dine-in, go for it! This is a dark, old-world, friendly restaurant. It reminds me of the local pizza places my folks used to take me to when I was a kid in the ‘70s. Some might say it’s a little divey but I’d call it nostalgic. Only problem I have here is the price-per-topping. If you get a cheese or sausage pizza everything’s square. But sometimes we like to have«kitchen sink» pizzas… and that would break our budget. On a large pizza, you’re talking about an extra $ 2.00 per topping. Sorry if I sound cheap, but $ 6 for onions, green peppers and black olives on a large pizza is a little steep. So we usually settle for less than what we really want. I’m waiting to see a ValPak coupon for something like«2 free ingredients on any size pizza». As a suggestion, a nice bonus to reward frequent customers would be loyalty tokens(«Collect 20 receipts/shields/coins and get a free pizza.») Rewards like these made sure we kept ordering from places like Papa Joe’s, Aurelio’s and even Pizza Plus in Hometown. Regardless, it would take a great deal of effort to stop us from ordering from Nino’s. Once you’ve found a pizza place that has met your standards, it becomes a challenge for any other pizza place to try to get your business.

The pizza is meh, not much flavor and we ordered one with tons of toppings. They have no craft beers, just the standard so there was nothing to help the pizza along. I can’t understand the trellis ceiling, it feels like I’m in someone’s basement. Why not just remove that stuff and open the room up? It would look so much better. They have games for the kids, which is good to keep them entertained and the mozzarella sticks are huge which is good.

This place is straight up red checkerboard table cloth restaurant. Now the bathrooms are sub par and I had an ant in my pitcher. But I didn’t come for that. I came for the deep dish. Nice gooey cheesy sweet red saucy Chicago deep dish pizza. For that they did not disappoint. So don’t come for atmosphere but do come for the pie cause it is spot on.

Horrible place. They keep it entirely way too dark — and I think that might be to try to hide just how filthy the place is. There was food all over the floor, and it looked like none of the tables had been cleaned in a week. The salt and pepper shakers on the table were also very greasy to the touch. They are extremely understaffed. The one waitress working on the floor had a difficult time keeping up. And our food was brought out one plate at a time, so it took about 20 minutes from the time the first plate came out until we received the last plate. Also, the owner openly smokes in the restaurant and the dishwashers smoke in the back as well. This place is a health hazard. I’m surprised no one has gotten sick yet. The only reason they received even 2 stars from me is because what we ate wasn’t horrible. Would NEVER go back.

First time and what a gem. The place looks like it’s been around for a while but that’s definitely what made me want to try them, they must be doing something right. Our server Maria was great! Thin crust pizza was really great and I will definitely return. I can’t wait to try out the deep dish and stuffed pizza. My son really loved the cheesy garlic bread too. Cheese sticks and Zucchini were good, but nothing special. Prices were good.

The picture posted of the inside of Nino’s is very misleading. The dining space is huge and could easily fit 100 people. The interior is very dated, but it’s old school, the way we do it on the south side. There were plenty of television screens lining the walls, some of which were playing college basketball and the others, the Blackhawks. My wife and I had cheese fries and mozzarella sticks for apps and a family-sized cheese pizza. The apps were good and the sticks are very big, as others have noted. The pizza was delicious. The thin crust was close to perfect. It had the crunch of a cracker but it wasn’t ultra flat. It had a softness and volume to it that perfectly accompanied the crunch. Our server was very pleasant and the whole experience was a good one. 4.5 stars.

Celebrated my wife’s bday with her twin tonite. First Friday the 13th Bday since they were born… Identical. Scary thought. Thought long and hard where to go… picked Ninos. Old standby for pizza … the space was Barnabys in the 70’s. I’ll have the Kiddie Basket!’!!! Pizza awesome. If you can be okay with the crowd… no elbow room… But must mean it’s good. Price is right too
