Nice cosy place. However, stopped for lunch. Arrived starving and thought it might be a great stop after camping for a few days. Thought the menu was a bit odd. Did not give it much thought then ordered. The sandwich was simply bread and a berry mayo with two thin slices of turkey. Basically, it was a mayo and bread sandwich. Add about ten chips and that was a $ 10 sandwich. Arrived starved, left hungry. Not much of a sandwich. Would not recommend this place for a lunch stop.

Wow! Small place with beautiful patio seating. Flowers everywhere. Wait staff looks and acts like they have been doing this for years. True professionals. Our table was set and waiting for us when we got there for our reservations, which was a nice touch. My wife had the cod Parmesan while I had the combination plate which had chicken and a smaller portion of the cod. Portion sizes are perfect. The chicken had a great sauce on it, but was otherwise unremarkable. The cod is your true star here, and I’ve never had anything like it. As cheesy as Mac and cheese, but with great cod flavor. A nice zing to it. We had the lemon cake for dessert which of course was also fantastic. Start to finish a great meal, and a can’t miss restaurant. Wish it weren’t several states away from our home!

This is where the locals go… You know it is good when the restaurant is only open a few months a year and a full house is about 10 tables. If it weren’t packed every night, it wouldn’t be sustainable. The patio is GORGEOUS! Tons of flowers, and we watched deer playing while we tried not to gulp the pumpkin soup down; it comes with every entrée but after tasting it — - I wished I had just had a giant bowl of soup. Then the Trout arrived and I realized that I would have been disappointed if I had. I don’t typically like trout, but I figured since we were on the banks of the snake river, I should give it a try– and it was excellent! The Lemon cake with Lemon curd finished the meal perfectly! The service was awesome, so friendly and authentically joyful to be serving us!!! I will definitely eat here(and stay at the adorable hotel adjoining) anytime I am fortunate enough to be back in Alpine!

We enjoyed a nice dinner at Brenthoven’s. It is a little nicer and dressier than casual. We shared a blue cheese wedge salad. It was good but nothing special. Our meals came with Pumpkin soup. It was very good. My wife had the Cod Parmesan. It was baked nicely. Browned on top. Very tasty. Maybe a little salty. I had the broiled trout. It was very good. Browned nicely on top. The décor is very nice. The service was friendly and very good.

Absolutely delicious, and wonderful ambiance. Really, you’d expect to find this restaurant at some hoity-toity California coast location, instead of tucked behind the Tetons. My parents made a point to stop here every year for decades, going 2 hours out of their way to do so. The owners are a joy to chat with, one is a professional musician/gourmet chef, and the other runs the hotel and is a fascinating raconteur. Make reservations; this place is REALLY popular! Also check ahead: the owners usually spend the winter in New Zealand, so be sure it will be open when you visit.

This guy used to play for the USO and now cooks for you. The dining room feels like a family’s nook, with only 6 tables. Just the right size to have a seat and fill your tummy with some home cooking. Can’t go wrong on the menu!
