Great sushi, fresh and delicious. I am very spoiled with fresh fish, and I was a little worried this place wouldn’t meet my standards, but I tried it anyways. The service was great, and the fish was fresh and freaking good! I am coming back!

Our waitress was very sweet, and provided great service. We all ordered the specialty rolls and were very satisfied with the quality and presentation of the sushi. Great place if you like sushi!

Sushi was oh so good! We went on a Tuesday night for dinner and had a great experience. The entrance is a little weird since the main entrance is road-facing while all the parking is in the back, so you need to park and then walk all the way around to the entrance. It’s located attached to the same building as Volcano Asian Bistro and in the same plaza of a lot of other good dining options. We sat by the sushi bar and ordered the yellowtail nigiri($ 6.95 for two pieces), 12&69 roll($ 14.95, a raw roll with ahi tuna, salmon, flying fish roe, avocado, and served with a spicy mayo and seaweed salad), and Echo Baby($ 14.95, a cooked roll with fried soft shell crab). Would definitely try snagging a seat by the bar if possible to get an awesome view of the chefs at work! Especially if you like nigiri since the chefs will serve you right away instead of having your food sit at the counter waiting for the waitress to bring them to your table, gives you the best texture and temp difference as you’re eating the cold fish on top of warm rice Prices were high for dinner so I would probably return for lunch in the future! Overall I think it’s a great pick for quality, fresh sushi in the Alpharetta area. Ah still thinking about that creamy, fresh yellowtail…

Super fresh and super yummy! Kinda pricey, but worth every penny! Service was great, and the atmosphere was very nice. We went around 2:30… And it wasn’t crowded at all. Caught a glimpse of the sushi chefs slicing fresh tuna right then and there. Loved every bit of this place!

I had a wonderful experience today at this restaurant. I stopped by for a quick and healthy lunch and this place exceeded my expectations. Sushi Nami is a beautiful restaurant with excellent quality of food as everyone knows. But the true hidden enjoyment of dining here is the great customer service. From the hostess which was a «comforting mother like woman» taking you to your seat, to the kind sushi chefs all gathering around me to make sure I was happy while enjoying my lunch. And its a plus when they think you are a high schooler, offer you a nice healthy clementine for dessert, and say«we look forward to seeing you again.» As this is Unilocal,I am obligated to mention something about the food so quickly I will praise the fast and great quality sushi and sashimi lunch combo I had the pleasure of eating. The plating, quality, and generous portions were all delightful. I especially loved the way there prepared the salmon sashimi slices. I got to watch a salmon and tuna fish be prepared while eating my lunch which beats watching any TV or video on my phone while eating alone. I am excited to take my co-workers here next week as they have never been here. I was a fan of Akina down the street but I personally think this place has better quality parking availability during lunch, customer service, ambiance, and quality food. This will be my new go-to lunch location in alpharetta.

This came highly recommended from a local in Alpharetta — Mark Spain, so a group of us left Franklin Covey meeting to try it out. We sampled miso, Soft Shell Crab Shrimp Tempura, Calamari, Edemame, Idako Kara-age, Tori Kara-age, Chawan Mushi, Grilled Yellowtail Neck. The food was fresh — not fishy and nicely plated. The ‘Big O’ roll was a delight. The service was prompt and attentive. I highly recommend and will return.

Ordered take out. Overall a great fantastic food. It does take time so be prepared to wait. Ordered Ahi Poki, Philadelphia roll, smoked Salmon roll and steak roll.

This may have been the fastest I have ever been served good sushi at a busy restaurant. Like, ninja-fast. They were extremely precise and efficient presentation-wise. To start I had a salad w/ginger dressing, Miso soup and Agedashi Tofu. All were spot-on. For the main course I had salmon sushi, yellowtail roll and the Quebec roll. Each piece had a distinct texture and flavor which only a good sushi chef can pull off. If you’ve ever had sushi that all tastes the same, you know what I mean. Try this place, it is likely to satisfy!

This is my favorite sushi restaurant. I come here every time I’m in Atlanta, even if I’m not near Alpharetta. I get the Ahi Poki, ginger salad, and for rolls: big o, mega crunch, and crazy diamond roll. You will not be disappointed!

Sushi was delicious and great quality! If you sit at the bar you can see them make it. Service was a little slow but I did like that they brought our sushi in stages to divide our meal up. We got a bunch of the smaller rolls and the chef’s special. For a Sunday night it was very busy which means it’s popular! I recommend the eel!

This place is awesome! Came in on a Friday night and it was packed. We had to sit at the sushi bar, which was fine by us. I tried one of their sushi dishes and we also ordered vegetable fried rice. The presentation was nice and it tasted delicious too. Our server was top notch and made the experience that much better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner. The interior was nothing crazy, but it was done very tastefully which I appreciated.

BESTSUSHIINATLANTA. We’ve been coming here for years! We moved to Midtown and would still travel to Alpharetta for sushi date nights. The edemame & calamari are delicious! Our favorite rolls: Heated Salmon(omg…it’s the Best), Big O, NY Strip, Ikeman(if you don’t mind a bit spicy), Where you at & Favorite. Service is always amazing too! Be sure to make reservations if your looking for a Friday or Saturday. Enjoy!!!

Everyone has talked about the sushi, and yeah, it’s awesome. What I wanted to talk about though is the noodle soups. I was really surprised at how good these were. The ramen was good, not the best I’ve had, but really legit. The real surprise was the udon soups. These reminded my husband of the soups he had in Japan and that is not something we expected in Alpharetta.

I’ve been here a couple of times, both times were for dinner. The ambiance is nice, the sushi bar is open so you can see the chefs at work. The house salad with ginger dressing is a great way to start your meal. As far as the sushi goes, it’s fresh never fishy and nicely plated. The ‘Big O’ roll is a favorite of mine! Service is attentive, consistent with a knowledgeable staff that are great for recommending menu items if you’re unsure of what’d you like. I would recommend this place and will return

When I have 30 minutes to spare from work and need a quick bite, I order a bento box«to go» from Sushi Nami. Customer service is friendly and prompt, normally taking 10 – 15 minutes to prepare during lunchtime and is almost always ready by the time I get there after my 10 minute commute. The bento box that I ordered was the Teriyaki Salmon(not overcooked) and comes with a good portion of perfectly cooked Steamed Rice, Edamame, California roll, Gyoza, Tempura Veggies/Shrimp(crispy, drizzled with a light sauce), and your choice of Miso Soup or Ginger Salad. All that for under $ 12 is a great deal! This place is consistent in their food delivery, quality and service. You will find me here at least once a week!

As other Unilocalers have mentioned, this place may be a bit tricky to find if you enter in the street before the restaurant. This place was recommended to us by a client and so our expectations were high. You can tell the sushi here is fresh and the quality is pretty good. I really enjoyed their Uni. The rolls were better than other Japanese restaurants in the area. Recommended for someone who wouldn’t mind spending a bit on good & fresh sushi.

The first thing you need to know as you arrive: The entrance faces the main road. You will immediately see Volcano when you arrive, but following the sidewalk and head towards the right hand side. It’s super strange, but these two restaurants share this building and parking lot space. So just go to the right of Volcano’s entrance and Sushi Nami’s door will be on the side that faces the main road. The food was pretty good. I had the bento box with salmon. The salmon piece was huge with vegetable tempura pieces, two gyoza pieces, edemame, and a California roll(I’m unsure since their menu stated a tuna roll while what we received looked like a California roll). I chose the miso soup as the side option, but a side salad is also available. The soup was really concentrated and ended up being too salty, but it was pretty good nonetheless. The restaurant was a tad small, but it wasn’t cramp. Our three party group ended up sitting at the bar since there was a nice late lunch crowd here. The service was sweet and attentive. Everyone seemed to be super genuine as they took orders and attended to various customer needs. Parking was funny since the parking spaces immediately around the building doesn’t wrap around. So if you heads towards the back spaces, you have to back up to get out.

I was looking for a top rated sushi restaurant in Alpharetta and came across this one. I was truly disappointed. We brought our friends here from out of town and the sushi was just okay. Since it had such high ratings, I had high expectations. We ordered 3 sushi rolls. The rolls were expensive for the amount of food we actually received. One roll had 5 pieces of sushi! That’s just not acceptable in my opinion, especially when you are paying so much per roll. They also don’t have prices on their online menu. Whenever a restaurant doesn’t have pricing, I know it’s too high. Needless to say, the sushi didn’t taste fresh or had much flavor. We had the Volcano roll, the Heated Salmon roll, and the Bullit roll. I believe it was the Bullit roll that was only five pieces of fried sushi in the roll. The server was very attentive which we liked and refilled our drinks without asking. Maybe the other food, besides sushi, is good? I haven’t tried it but there are so many good sushi restaurants in Atlanta and Alpharetta. Definitely keep your options open.

Small restaurant with somewhat odd décor, not as upscale as I expected and not what I’d call cozy in any way. Acoustics, as other reviewers have pointed out, are not optimal, especially when the place fills up, so if quiet and romantic is your aim, you may want to point yourself in some other direction. The music they were playing wasn’t typical for a sushi restaurant, but we loved that aspect of the atmosphere, as the tunes included Pink Floyd and some of our other favorites as well. Service was great, our waitress was super attentive(but not overly so) and made sure we had everything we needed. Sushi bar was a little slow filling our order each time(we order as we go when eating sushi), which we couldn’t quite understand as we got there early before the crowd converged. Not a huge matter, as it turned out that the sushi was worth waiting for. Prices at dinner are mid-range; as a gage, their version of chirashi was around $ 26 if memory serves me. We had 2 large Asahi beers, 5 rolls, soup, a large salad, and the monkfish liver with scallop and got out for right around $ 100 with tip, so not horrible. The sushi was excellent. Don’t miss the monkfish liver with ponzu sauce, it’s amazing. We added scallops for $ 5 extra, and it made for an outstanding appetizer. Not a huge fan of their ginger dressing, which was house-made but strangely(and heavily) oily. As an aside, Akina has the best salads & ginger dressing on the planet, and they remain my favorite for that and more. The mushroom miso soup with cream was another big hit — not so creamy as to be heavy and compete for stomach space with the coming sushi, but just the perfect, warm touch on a chilly evening as we waited on our other dishes. Their mega crunch roll was a favorite, but the big surprise of the night was the was the Shannon at Maui roll with macadamia nuts. I was interested enough to order it, but never expected it to blow me away like it did — the crunch of the nuts is great, and the subtle flavor they add to the fish is incredible. We had a few other rolls that were not all that remarkable but were still super fresh and good, they just aren’t as memorable as the Maui, so don’t miss that one. Akina is still at the top of my list for sushi in Alpharetta, both for quality and atmosphere(quiet and romantic), but I definitely want to revisit Nami to walk through a few more of their creative menu offerings on par with the Maui roll & the monkfish liver!

Great value for the sushi! I eat a lot of sushi and was weary of how sushi would be in Atlanta. Sushi Nami did not disappoint! I was so happy after finishing my first piece of the Mega Crunch roll. This was my favorite roll of the night because of the crunchy texture and the overall flavor. The other 2 rolls were also good and I would order them again. Soft Shell Crab appetizer $ 9 — Lightly battered, crunchy, nice sauce and flavor. This was well done. Mega Crunch $ 10 — Yellowtail, very good flavor packed with a crunch. Smoked Salmon Twist $ 12 — Salmon topped with avocado. Yum! Whey U @ $ 12 — Deep fried California roll topped with tuna. Fun name to say. Hot Sake Large $ 8 The décor was modern and simple and the service was great. They had a nice variety on the menu, including a section called«I don’t like raw stuff». Location: It’s in the same plaza as Ichiban and is attached to the same building as Volcano Asian Bistro. It may be hard to see once you’re in the plaza because the restaurant’s sign is only street facing.
