Great Cuban and Peruvian food. Had the sampler appetizer and Vaca Frita with rice and beans. delicious. Service was fast and friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. Been here a dozen times and never had a bad meal. Recommend highly

Grumpy owner with no people skills! The staff and food here are good for the price, but yesterday I came in to order a salad and soup to-go, and wanted to change my salad choice about 2 minutes after placing my order. Well, the owner(not sure if it was really Luciano himself, but he claimed to be the owner) came out and tried to muscle me into buying the original salad because his cook already made it(it was a chicken salad, so he microwaved the chicken?). I asked him why he was trying to give me a hard time , and he flipped out and told me to never return because he knows customer service and he’s the owner. I would have bought it if he just let his waitresses/waiters take care of business, because he obviously doesn’t have this skill.

Excellent Cuban standards here at great prices. Love the Peruvian influence; the green dipping paste with the bread is divine! I’ve had most of the classics here, and all are every bit as good as I find in South Florida.

Yum!!! A bit out of the way(for those living in Atlanta), Mambo’s Café serves excellent Cuban/Peruvian food. The menu can be a bit overwhelming for those not familiar with Cuban food. So here are a few pointers: Tostones: fried plantain pancake things. They’re super good. I’m not a fan of plantains just on their own, but smash ‘em up and then fry them, I will eat them for sure! Vaca Frita: shredded beef cooked in a lot of garlic and onions.(careful if you’re on lunch break. Your breath might small afterwards!) super umami. Ropa vieja: also beef. Slowly cooked until it falls apart. Cooked with red peppers and onions. More saucy than the vaca frita. Also super umami. Make sure to get yellow rice. That is critical. And black beans. Bathrooms are very clean. Notes: Plenty of parking! Not to be confused with Mambo Jambo down the street. It can get noisy, especially if you’re sitting closer to the bar or if the TV volume is high.

Chilindron de Cordero. lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender! Everything we ordered here was flavorful. It’s pretty comparable to Cuban food in Miami. Service was ok. I ordered a mojito but it wasn’t very good. I don’t think the waitress knew what she was doing as she made my drink, tasted it with a straw, and poured it back in the shaker. I’d stick to beer on tap next time.

This is one of our favorite places in Alpharetta. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the food is very unique and flavorful. We just love the Mambo Grill with one of their very reasonable Tempranillos. Great place that can facilitate a good size crowd and always seems to be busy, but the feel is very pleasant with just the right amount of noise and people traffic. A must try at anytime

I would give 2.5 stars if I could. I liked it enough, the service was ok and the food mediocre. My dish had no flavor whatsoever though. It was grouper in a salsa verde and there was no seasoning, spice, kick, nothing. Just like eating fish baby food. Maybe it was just the entrée I picked was supposed to be bland and the other food is good. I dunno, but for the price I’m not finding out. It was quite expensive.

A great place for dinner or late afternoon snack. Authentic Cuban/Peruvian cuisine. The seafood soups(Any of them) are delicious and very hearty. Large cuts of premium seafood and soup stock sets these dish apart from any restaurant OTP. The Midnight sandwich is authentic and probably the best sandwich I’ve had in 10+ yrs, not kidding. There staff is awesome and Carol makes the best Mojito and Cosmos.

I love the food here, they do great Peruvian plates and also cuban food. People try the empanadas and Arroz con Pollo. So far the best in town. Last time I was there I order limo salteado and it was delicious. Tacutacu I think is the name it is out of this world.

By far my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. When you eat here you are transported to the Caribbean instantly. There is a twist though: a Peruvian one. They offer amazing Peruvian dishes for dinner and a few are also available for lunch. If you get a chance try the ceviche and if you feel adventurous try the«tiradito». You can never go wrong with palomilla steak, ropa vieja or lomo saltado.

Fantastic meal experience. We went in as a group during the lunch rush and were taken care of immediately. The staff were extremely friendly and the meal was fantastic. I had the Peruvian fried rice, which was a new experience for me. Highly recommended!

This place is really good, well at least what I just devoured. Sliced breast with citrus spices and sautéed onions. The white rice was just delicious. They also serve this bread with a green chili that you should test with the tip of the bread before being surprised. I wish I was hungry again.

I’ve visited this restaurant two times and I must say I am pretty satisfied so far. The first time I visited I tried the Pollo con Camarones Enchilados — Chicken breast chunks with shrimp sautéed with a spicy Creole sofrito sauce with peppers, onions and white wine. If you like spicy, I definitely recommend it. The flavors are great and go very well together. The peppers, onions, white white and the creole sauce are very delicious. The second time I had the Filete de Corvina Imperial — Fresh fillet of sea bass broiled, topped with shrimp and scallops. Cooked in a delicate cream and yellow pepper sauce and a dash of cognac. The taste is very light and interesting. It has a creamy like texture with a hint of spice. The yellow pepper sauce gives a light spicyness to it and is great if you aren’t a big fan of spicy foods but can handle just a slight bit. The shrimp and scallops are cooked well. The fresh sea bass is cooked just right and tastes amazing. The sweet plantains you can get on the side is great, as well as the white or yellow rice and beans!

On a recent visit to Mambo’s Café, I ordered something new to me from the menu: Jalea Mixta de Pescado y Mariscos. It is a dish of fried seafood with pieces grouper, shrimp, calamari and mussels. It came with yucca fries and was accompanied by a red onion salad. Everything was good. I recommend the Jalea Mixta de Pescado y Mariscos is you want fried seafood!

Good service most of the time, can be hit or miss. Pretty chilly inside. Don’t order the chicken wings, trust me you won’t like them. Empanadas are wonderful! Tea is good, as well. Be careful if spicy is not your thing, the dishes they think are mild are really medium, the ones they consider medium are hot as hell. Seems most everything comes with plantains.

Being from South Florida I just love Cuban food! I saw a deal on LivingSocial and gave it try! The restaurant atmosphere and décor was nice, however, the temperature inside was freezing on this 35 degree night. Our waitress(Morgan, I believe) was beyond nice! So friendly and helpful. We got 2 lechons and 1 Vera. The lechons were marinated with oranges which I’ve never seen before for this shredded pork dish. I didnt like that added flavor. All dishes came with black beans, rice, plantains. The sides were all delicious. The Vera had really great flavor. All-in-all I’ve had better Cuban food, even in Atlanta.
