Tumbling Waters Campground

Very fortunate to have this campground open after the season closes the other campgrounds in the Almond, NC area. I was up to ride Tsali trails and both the Tsali Campgrounds and Turkey Creek campgrounds had closed as of ¹⁰⁄₃₁. Tumbling Waters is open until ¹²⁄₁. I arrived without notice and Joe (owner) put me in a really cool, small cabin. He was also super nice and let me pay him when I got home as I didn’t have enough cash at the time (bring cash, no CC accepted). Very trusting and honest person, for sure. Definitely stay in one of the small cabins there if you get a chance.

Clean, beautiful location and wonderful hospitality. Great for large or small groups. Very family friendly with trout pond and plenty of safe run around space right by Panther creek. Stayed here 2 nights on a tent site with a group of friends while trout fishing/​Smokey Mountain Relay. The tent sites have electrical plugs and a water spout. Not necessary but a really nice feature. Restrooms and a communal kitchen with grill, tables, sink, etc. Fire rings, you can buy wood there or bring your own. Slept like a rock with the sound of Panther Creek rolling through. They had RV spots and mini cabins.
This is a family business and owners are very pleasant and welcoming with lots of knowledge about the area. I’ll drive the extra hour or so from my usual spot in Brevard to enjoy this place again.
