Friendly host, creative breakfast, cozy Captain’s Corner room, lovely view of the Mississippi with the option of a Widow’s Walk to the lookout room on the peak of the house. Rooms have access to a kitchen where meals can be prepared. All of it needs a serious upgrade. It’s clean, but a bit dingy. There are some other options in Alma(forget the Alma Hotel), but this is probably the better choice.

Great value in a great location. We stayed here because it’s the only place in town that takes dogs. Innkeeper Connie very friendly, and our room had a wonderful deck overlooking main street, railroad and river above Alma Dam. Walking distance to all town bars, restaurants and shops. Great rates, very affordable. Décor a little knick-knacky, but bed rooms and bed were extremely comfortable. Cable TV was nice when insomnia kicked in. Continental breakfast was good, though coffee was Folgers; try one of the shops in town for better joe, or the café across the street for full breakfast. I would definitely go back.
