My hubby and ate here while back in the area visiting family. Our waitress was very attentive even though she was serving every table in the place. She was always nice and very on top of things. You get unlimited hush puppies(that were perfectly hot and tasty) and coleslaw. My hubby had the fried catfish that he says is the best you can get besides when you catch and cook it yourself. ;) I had the stuffed shrimp which was really tasty but the shrimp was slightly tough. The green beans were limp and slimy but the baked potato was fluffy and hot. It was a good meal but just those couple of issues made me give a 4 star. We’ll definitely be back though when we’re back in town.

DONOTGETTHEALLYOUCANEAT!!! We went out with a group of our family members. I ordered the all you can eat shrimp and scallops(for $ 30!!!). The first plate comes out with 10 scallops and a ramekin of shrimp about 5 – 6. As she drops off the plate I say please put me in some more shrimp. 15−20min later they bring me one more ramekin of 5 – 6 shrimp. Now during this first 20 min wait as I sit there with no plate in front of me the waitress had come back multiple times and I asked where the next round is to which she would assure me she put in the order. When that round finally came I ask the lady please bring more than 5 shrimp on the next round. After another long wait my family around me starts to finish and have to leave. This happens again till the whole party is gone except me and the wife and kids as they sit and wait for me. To make things even better, as I’m paying my check I say to the cashier I think I got had because they wouldn’t bring me refills out to which she asks did you tell your waitress and I say yes I did and she says“yeah, guess you got had” with a smirk as she rings me up for my $ 60 tab.

As I love fried catfish, I looked forward to visiting this place for lunch. Hush puppies, slaw and tomato relish were served before my order was even taken. The hush puppies were delicious and both the slaw and relish were good. I ordered five catfish filets and French fries. The filets were hard while the fries were soft and soggy.

Ate at CATFISHHOLE in Alma last night. Everything was perfection, catfish cooked just right, French fries awesome, coleslaw, hushpuppies, red onions, pickles and green tomato relish. Tea was fresh. Service was wonderful. There was six of us and we all enjoyed it immensely! We will be going back. Price was very good for quality of food.

Great fried catfish every time. Can be a little pricey for amount of fish in my opinion, but always delicious. Good seating and service is usually quite good.

Traveling between AZ and east TN. Ate lunch at The Catfish Restaurant just east of Fort Smith, AR, at exit 13 on I-40. My wife and I had the catfish boneless fillets with the fix-in’s and fried okra side. Excellent meal! The okra and fillets were very good quality but everything was fried in a lite clean batter that tasted very good. The hush puppies were also very good, as was the excellent green tomato relish. This broad spectrum of Flavors all melded together into a very delicious lunch! Service was pleasant, fast, and efficient. Very friendly staff. Large, clean, open eating space. If your passing by, might want to at at least stop and try their fried pies.

The food is outstanding. The service is a crap shoot. Sometimes you will get food quickly and hot. Sometimes, it will take 30 min for an order when the restaurant is not busy. Overall, the food is worth it. The hush puppies are great. you get them along with slaw and pickled tomatoes before your food ever comes. Don’t get too full on the appetizers. We like the atmosphere and food, just wish we were shown a little time by staff.

This place has hushpuppies that will rival any around the world! The filets are kind of small, but that’s my only complaint.

If gratuitous amounts of grease and mayonnaise are your thing, then this is the place for you. Apon arrival, you are greeted with«fixins» which are chopped green tomatoes, two slices of onion, cole slaw(cabbage and mayo only), and decent hushpuppies. I ordered the clams, and my hubby ordered the catfish. Both came with ample disappointment. And now… as im in the bathroom making this review my colon is letting me know just how horrible an idea it was to eat here. I would have rather stayed home and ate nopdles than pay 30 dollars for disintary.

Went in around 3 pm. There were only two other tables being waited on. Hostess was not very pleasant, hush puppies were not hot-didn’t seem fresh. Food came out, not warm-didn’t seem fresh and did not bring out half of what we ordered. Our waitress never returned. When we went to pay with the hostess and told her what happened she did not apologize she just said«okay» when we asked her to take it off. Overall disappointing experience and will be sticking to the one in Fayetteville.

It is what it is. A very cool looking building in the middle of nowhere. Hush puppies were good but didn’t live up to the hype of the reviews. The catfish filets were very good — again, for what it was, a fried catfish filet. The food was brought out quickly — made me kind of wonder how long it had been sitting there but it was hot and fried, well, fried well is really all that can be said. Coleslaw was t crispy and had way too much mayo. Restrooms were not as clean as they should be. Waitress was just ok… and another waitress provided a very loud running monologue with another patron she knew, which we found hilarious, but might have been grating if we were tired and didn’t want to be forced to eavesdrop. Still, stuck in the middle between Little Rock and Bentonville, it is what it is and I’m glad it was there. Alternative was fast food so we are glad it was there.

Best hush puppies in Arkansas and the surrounding states! The catfish tastes so good, makes you wanna rub your feet together. You city stickers let that marinate for a minute. This is my hometown, so I’m a little biased when comes to their down home country cooking. You get plenty of fixins to go along w/your meal. Jennifer was our waitress and she was awesome! BTW, tell Nanette that I sent you and you might get a free sweet tea! j/k

Hands down the best hush puppies you will find anywhere. We go the The Catfish Hole on average 2 – 3 times a year. The staff is amazing & you get plenty of ‘fixins.’(Hush puppies, cole slaw & green tomato relish) I would say the catfish it pretty good, but I’ve had better. I don’t usually order the catfish. The way they cook the fries is not my preference, I always find them a little too greasy & soggy. Everything else I’ve had there is good. I particularly like the clams, scallops & Hawaiian chicken. But if you’ve never been, you at least need to go by or call in & pick up an order of the hush puppies. They are really the best.

This place«use» to be really good! It’s gone down hill they fry the fish too long and all you get is a bunch of fried cornmeal over a little slab of fish. The service was AWFUL and it wasn’t even rush hour! The hush puppy’s and coleslaw were great but filling up on that and paying for awful fish and service just isn’t worth it to me. It will a Long time before I go back if ever!

Wow! Okay, 100 wows! I was looking to stop in Alma a couple of times, and I’ve even thought about living here. I’m surprised that a town so small can offer so much. So, I was going to one of the pizza places – there are 4 of those. I’m really picky about pizza and I didn’t want to be disappointed, plus when I saw catfish, I had to go here. I used to go to The Catfish Place in Apopka, Florida and almost always got something amazing. Being in Arkansas near so many lakes and rivers, I figured it had to be 100 times as good. I don’t know how fresh everything is – I’m better at knowing ocean fish – but everything was good. I ordered the 3 piece Catfish filet dinner that comes with fries, cole slaw, and hush puppies. The waitress brought the hush puppies even before the drink, along with a dill pickle spear. I also ordered a sweet tea – it is the south, after all. After eating the fish, I was thinking about shrimp/prawns, as in shrimp cocktail. Call me a glutton, but I don’t have sit-down meals often. The breading on the catfish was a bit salty but really good. So, the waitress made my order into a combo meal(talk about flexibility!) and that came with another piece of fish and cold, boiled shrimp. I think the price changed from $ 9.99 to $ 15.99, and then, the iced tea on top of that. I feel like I over ate, but it was good. I even liked the hush puppies and I never like hush puppies because they usually taste like the shoes of the same name. I had a lot of fun peeling the shrimp and I’m surprised someone across from me didn’t have one fall into their food. They’re lively little devils – the shrimp, not the people. I remember the motel desk clerk telling me how this restaurant had become less good, as it had changed owners twice. I can only imagine how great it was then because it was good for me in 2013. This might be reason enough to move to Alma.
