Love it! I really love this place and have been going regularly for about 2 years now. I have noticed a decrease in the quality of service. Basically being slow and sometimes mixing up the food. Also most of the servers don’t speak English. Although service can be slow you are technically cooking your own food so it’s ok. Definitely not the place to go if you are on a time crunch. This place is for those that are adventurous and willing to do their own hotpot. I would recommend trying the sauté beef tongue, a1 beef, fish paste, assorted tofu, and a great watermelon or longan smoothie for a sweet treat. They also serve complimentary sweet red bean soup as a dessert

This place was… alright. It wasn’t the worst sushi I’ve ever had, but it definitely didn’t reach the level of some of the other sushi joints I’ve had the pleasure of dining at. To start off, I was extremely disappointed by the fact that I had ordered Uni, only to find out five minutes later that they ran out. Ok, fine. Let me try something else, some spicy scallop? Yum! Five minutes later, find out they ran out of that as well. Ok, well tell me what you have, and I can go from there. The Beni Toro was good, the spicy tuna super mediocre, and the Ika was, dare I say it, somewhat dry… The first and the last time. Sorry guys, but for the money spent on sushi, there are plenty of better places out there.

Nice special on the seafood ramen and $ 3 roll with purchase of ramen. Overall not too bad. Rolls were tasty but weren’t really presented that well.(if that matters to you) Not a bad to get Japanese food in general. The place is clean and spacious.

My fiancé and I went to Toki for Valentine’s Day dinner. We didn’t have reservations, but when we walked by tables were available so we figured it was worth a shot. We won’t be back. We used the«choose your own sushi combo» to try 4 sushi maki rolls: Futo Maki(Eel, Egg, Crab Sticks, & Veggies), Oyster Maki, salmon, and spicy tuna. The prices were expensive, but we figured, it’s Valentine’s Day so a meal at any restaurant would be pricey. This is where the bad service began. Only 3 of our roll selections were brought out together. By the time our oyster maki arrived, we’d finished the rest of our sushi(and we were eating slowly in hopes that the oyster maki would arrive before we were done). We were also not a fan of the size of the Futo and Oyster maki. They were too huge to eat in one bite, and the seaweed wrap was too springy to cut well with chopsticks. I completely shredded my rolls while trying to eat them. The service was extremely slow. We waited 25 minutes for our check, after our plates had been cleared. The whole time we were saying to each other that we just wanted to get home.(We live a block away.) We wanted to be able to let someone else use our table for their dinner.

Went here on a Friday for lunch with my sister. We ordered the sushi lunch specials which came with a soup and salad. The service was a bit slow just because there was only one waiter for the entire lunch crowd. The soup and salad took so long to come out that by the time I took one bite into my salad, my sushi was sitting on the table waiting to be eaten. I had to scarf down the salad, to not leave my sushi waiting. The sushi was delicious. I got the spicy tuna roll and Una-avo(unagi(eel) with avocado). My sis had a glass of pinot grigio which she liked. It was a great experience, they should just work on getting that salad out a bit quicker.

I’ve been here a couple of times… but not for Shabu! I get the Sukiyaki(something different since there are two other Shabu places within throwing distance) and was very satisfied with the freshness and taste(although a bit sweet). They make the food right at the table and you can participate as much as you like. The service(esp the host) was attentive, and the atmosphere is cool. I’ve also ordered their sushi specials and kushiyaki. I especially liked their special on anchovies.
