4 stars because it’s got to compare to it’s sister in the North End(Boston’s oldest brick oven) — which is a total 5. I frequent here often, as far as pizza goes, it’s as good as it gets. Why I reviewed it this time though is in my online delivery order(in preparation for Finding Dory), I special requested they draw Dory on the box, and man did they deliver. Thanks, Regina’s staff for coming through and making a memory!

I would have really loved to give this place a 0 but this place got saved by its good food which is why I am giving this 1 star. From the time we entered the Allston Regina Pizzeria we had a bad experience. 1. The waitress was very cold and unpleasant. Not even a smile. We were treated like uninvited guests. 2. We were not informed about the kitchen closing time and were not asked if we wanted something before the kitchen closes. 3. The order was screwed up. We ordered a Pollo Regina and what we got was Pollo Pesto. 4. The waitress did not accept our Unilocal coupon for $ 3 off on large pizza and kept saying that she has to check with the manager and kept giving reasons like he can come anytime but he s currently not here. 5. We weren’t asked for even a second round of drinks, forget the kitchen closing. A definite no for any future visits. I WILLNOT recommend this particular location for anyone.

Came to this location for the first time with Slick Steve and Shammy – we started with the nachoss(too cheesy for me but slick Steve loved them) then we ordered the St. Anthony’s & #29 Prosciutto con spinach pizzas. I picked the St Anthony’s which turned out to be the better option of these two. We both agreed the prosciutto had way to much in it. Overall, it was a good option, next time I hope to be at there North end /the original Reginas

Regina Pizza is AMAZING! Regina is my FAVORITE pizza and I would always go there if it was closer to my house. Unfortunately, the closest location is in(either) the South Shore Plaza(or the now closed location in the Arsenal Mall). I was in the area and stumbled upon the Allston location, and thought it would be a great place to stop and get some pizza. My entire experience here was AMAZING! I have one complaint(to get anything that wasn’t amazing out-of-the-way). It’s a city restaurant, so I shouldn’t have expected for it to have parking(or very good parking for that matter). The lot is TINY and maybe holds 20 cars at most… very busy area for a small lot, as such! Anyway, waitress Katie is great! She was very friendly, efficient, and kind throughout my experience at the Allston Regina. I didn’t know they even had bread(they don’t at the mall locations), and in my book, it was tied as the best restaurant bread(with the other being Bertucci’s… tough to beat!). The pizza was even better and just the same as it has been during my experience to any other Regina, anywhere. Very cheesy and thick pizza, yet not too heavy. Definitely a great experience here, and I am already looking forward to making the trip back to this amazing restaurant!

We got a prosciutto pizza, a buffalo chicken pizza, and two Caesar salads between six people. It was an enormous amount of food and extremely well prepared. The bread is what makes this pizza. It has a deep taste and the perfect amount of crispy meets chewy. The buffalo pizza was the best part along with great service. Definitely worth a visit to this location or probably any of the others in Boston.

Just went there with my GF for a Sunday afternoon pizza. I talked her into it as I occasionally go by there for a slice or two during the week. We were sat down told someone would be with us soon. After 15 minutes of staff walking by us and the realization apparently the guy who seated us never followed up to see if we were taken care of, we got up to leave. On the way out we informed the hostess and manager of our lack of service, and received NO response from either. Epic failure. note to management: There are many pizza options which have opened recently in and around metro Boston eager for business without this seeming sense of complacency.

I like this place. Large pizzas are better than small– crust is too thick on the small pizza. Service is spotty — better at slow times and with small groups; can be terrible with a large group

I dined here as a member of a large party back in November. We were told it was the«best pizza in the city» so I remember looking forward to trying it out. Long story short, we were oversold on this place and it’s greasy pizza left several people in my party with heartburn. The location is great and has a sizable parking lot for patrons. The atmosphere is casual and fun. We were seated in a back room for parties and were treated very well by our server. She was on top of things, quick with refills and made good recommendations for all. We ordered salads and pizzas. The salads were pretty standard pizza place salads, nothing extraordinary. One was a garden salad and one was a Caesar salad. We sampled many pizzas and each one was«a-ok». I have eat much better pizza and I have eaten much worse, so 3 stars is exactly what I’d give it. Several members of my party later complained of bad heartburn, something many of them do not experience regularly so it was attributed to the pizza.

Dining in house is a MUST. I ordered takeout once and the pricey tag on the 3rd party delivery system was not worth it and the pizza came cold. So I pushed this place to the side until yesterday. We walked in the rain and arrived at this glowing beacon of pizza bliss. The interior is comfy, sparkling and slightly chain-like. But I did not think of this as a negative. We decided to sit at the bar and although the service was pretty slow as some people have noted we didn’t mind since we weren’t in a hurry. The guy sitting next to us HIGHLYSUGGESTED that we order our pizza well done and we believed him and now I suggest the same to you. We ordered the Puttanesca and The Giambotta. The crust was slightly crunchy, salty and basically perfect. We also added a «Wedgie» salad which did not disappoint. The combo of the chickpeas, onions and sunflower seeds added something you don’t usually get with the wedge salad.

I am going into this review with the confession that I already love their pizza. The blend of cheese, crust, and sauce work for me and I love it. I recently started coming to this location because the one by me closed. I LOVE that it has its own parking area — that makes it so much easier to visit in such a parking, congested area. The place is really large and the staff seems friendly enough. I also like that the train goes by so close to the restaurant that you can see the expressions on the passengers faces. The last time I went, we ordered a special pizza of the month and I also got the wedge salad. Neither worked for me. We did take out recently and stuck to a regular cheese with peppers and onions — perfection. So I guess the takeaway here is stick with the simple items and everyone will be happy.

This has become our go-to spot to stop on our way home from a night out. And more and more, we stop on our way out too! Their pizza is fantastic when eaten in house — we always get it by the slice at the bar(it’s super cheap late night, $ 1 slices I believe?) and the night bartender is super nice. Take-out pizza is underwhelming but the pizza when eaten in house is amazinggg.

Pros: good pizza and food. Server was helpful and kind. Has good hours and a pretty cool atmosphere. Cons: I went with my partner who has a Gluten Intolerance. They up charged the gluten free pizza to the max to the point that a 1 topping pizza was approaching 20 dollars. He then switched to a salad because the whole scenario was pretty overwhelming. He was told shrimp would be 1.50 per shrimp, which he was okay with as he had been wanting some seafood. He got 5 and was ready to feast! The food took forever to come, even though Boone was there. Then when the food did come, the shrimp were not Jumbo. They were the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. Like smaller than shrimp you’d cook at home. They looked like small de shelled oysters. Like some were smaller than a nickel. Like really?! Really?! What is true is that this place will nickel and dime you, and although they have pizza pretty down, any variation of that will result in issues.

Me and my husband love Regina and whenever we have guests visiting us from other states we usually take them to Regina and brag about their great pizza and most of the times they love it. We had a guest from Virginia the other night and it was rainy so we didn’t want to drive to the North End and look for parking for an hour and then wait for a table for another hour. We decided to go to Allston, That was a big mistake! We used to go there when we were living in Brighton but haven’t been there for a year or so. It was nothing like it used to be. It was very dirty, noisy and the the staff were extremely rude. The floors needed a really good vacuum(we were sitting in the back section with carpet floors. Carpet for a restaurant is disgusting in general!). The ugly table cloths were sticky and you wouldn’t dare putting your elbows on them because they may stick to the table forever! lol AND the waitress… OMG… she was a piece of work! She didn’t make any effort to hide her annoyance with every question or request we had. The pizza was greasy and tasteless too. There is no single good point about this place to make me to want to go there one more time. Time to discover my new favorite pizza place. What a sad day! I truly loved you Regina!

Best pizza in Allston/Brighton, hands down. I prefer this location to the North End’s because there it is more dine-in friendly and there is plenty of parking. If you like authentic pizza and feel adventurous, try the old world anchovy. Amazing! Plus, dollar slices after 11pm?! How can you go wrong?

Came here on a Monday night with a party of ten. The restaurant was pretty empty but they sat us in the lounge in an extremely uncomfortable split booth. I couldn’t hear any of the conversation with anyone on the other end of the tables so that was annoying since we were going to see someone who was moving away. The bartender was our server and that’s a whole other story. She had on the most inappropriate shirt I’ve ever seen someone wear in a food establishment. You could almost see her nipples when she leaned over and her boobs were at her belly button. It was extremely unprofessional and looked awful. I totally get having large breasts(as do I) but this was way out of line. We ordered an antipasto and breadsticks to start which took about fifteen minutes to come out. When we asked where our food was she said the kitchen was backed up… There was about ten people in the whole restaurant so in not sure how that was possible. The pizza we ordered was good and everyone enjoyed it. We brought a cake for my friend– the bartender was holding it for us and was going to serve it. She handed us the entire box?!? I’ve never seen a cake served like that– normally they take it out of the box for you. All and all the customer service was bizzare here and not the best and extremely slow– I don’t plan on returning. The pizza was good though so maybe takeout would be best. A manager might want to talk to the girl behind the bar on Monday nights and buy her a bra and turtle neck!

Love coming here. But for pizza and beer only. Don’t get anything besides pizza. My «nachos» consisted of the end of the bag of chips and the«caprese salad» was merely one bocconcini size mozzarella ball and three pieces of tomato over a small bed of lettuce. Not worth what you pay for.

Mamma mia! Don’t be fooled. This is not the cramped North End pizza institution that you have read about in the tourism guides and have to prepare to wait hours in line for outside. Big Mama Regina in Allston is spacious, slightly smelling of a suburban chain restaurant, but still somehow has her own charm. The pizza’s still Regina’s recipe! We went with the Pollo Pesto which was a cheesy white pie with large chicken chunks drizzled with pesto sauce. Our waiter led us somewhat astray by saying that if more than 2 people are eating you should definitely go for a large; however, the three of us didn’t come close to finishing the pie. Leftovers it is! The Unilocal check-in offer of $ 3 off a large pizza also helped justify the order. Pair your pizza with a pitcher! The Regina’s Home Brew is made by Peak Organic and is a nutty brown ale similar to Newcastle. Try it! You’ll like it! The beer is affordable with most glasses at $ 4.50 and pitchers for $ 14.50. Stump trivia on Thursdays at 8PM completes a pizza and beer-fueled weekday night! Many teams play, and it gets less rowdy than other bar trivias… after all, Big Mama Regina’s is still a family joint.

As far as pizza restaurants go, this place deserves a four. The pizza is definitely gourmet, and high-quality. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and comfortable(about a thousand steps-up from what it used to look like when it was known as Sports Depot!). This is a great place to meet up with friends and catch-up over pizza and beer. It would definitely crush any cravings for comforting Italian-style pizza — and offers other classic Italian comfort dishes as well. The pizza is really SOGOOD. I tried to resist it, I even ordered my pizza without mozzarella in an effort to health-ify it a bit. Despite my best efforts to «ruin» my pizza(according to my husband), it came out amazing. The lack of mozzarella was clearly made up for by an abundance of other toppings, including chicken, ricotta, red onions, pesto and fresh basil + parmesan(which come on every pizza, I believe). My husband and friends who initially scoffed at my mozz-free pizza all begged for a slice. ;) The other pizzas I saw come out to my table were equally as beautiful, and substantial. One friend ordered the rigatoni, which appeared to be straight out of a Food Network magazine. The food is delicious, no doubt, just don’t expect it to be healthy.(There are 1 – 2 healthy options on the menu, but it is clear that Regina is not the place for dieters…) Tip: Try it for Trivia night on Thursdays! Oh, and if you check-in on Unilocal, there’s a special coupon for pizza after 9pm.

Unimpressed. Perhaps the original is better? Just normal every day pizza, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. This was nothing special. Our service was average, we had to remind him to bring us bread, drinks, food, etc. Not a lot of parking available.

Regina made this gal happy! After a long day of waiting in a casting call line for 2 hours in the heat, in my Ghostbusters uniform– I was desperate for some some relief. Regina Pizzeria was right down the street, and perfect in every way for me. It was cool(temperature and otherwise!), spacious, had a clean bathroom, and the server was very, very friendly. And the bonus– comfy booths! Enter my 10 inch pie of heaven. Chicken, spinach, and red peppers. All the ingredients were fresh and so dang delicious. The crust was divine too. I thought it tasted a little salty(which was a good thing!) My friend thought it was a bit more garlicy(again– a good thing!) Even though we couldn’t put our finger on what it was– we did agree that it was so yummy! After looking around the interior(which has gorgeous high ceilings), remembering the train car out front, and noticing the train tracks very close to the building– it occurred to me that this place looked like it was on old train station. And I was right! The waiter said that it was also the train station that Babe Ruth got on when he was headed to the Yankees. Pizza AND history. Why do I have to live so far away?! Also noticed they stay open till 2AM on some days– nice!

Overall, a huge disappointment. First of all, I thought this was the original. Walking in, I was clarified that it in fact, was not. I mean, bummer right there. Regina Pizzeria is one of my favorite to-go pizza places at mall. Greg had lived nearby for about a year, so I was pumped to try it. Outside, it looks really sketchy, and given it is in Allston, it is a safe assumption. Inside it is dark, but has fun decorations and is very lively. There was a lot of families there and a creepy old guy blowing up balloons for them. They sat us at the bar. It is right next to the commuter rail, and everytime a train goes by it shakes the entire resturaunt, you feel like you may get hit, or that you are on an amusement ride. We ordered garlic bread and a large cheeze pizza, and each a glass of wine. Overall, the service was just horrific. Our bread came fast, and the pizza took over 45 minutes to come out. Like. isn’t this what you are known for? By the time our food came, we were ready to leave. The bread was a 1 on a scale of 1 – 10. It was soggy, thick, and gross. The pizza itself was actually very very good. Until the next day, or week should i say. I think it might be a good place for a kid’s birthday party, but I probably won’t try eating here again. My stomach might kill me.
