Today decided to stop by Starbucks at mid day. From the last time I went til now was like night and day. Very nice staff. Very helpful. Very clean. Many tables to sit at. Plus many tables outside as well. They were busy but didn’t effect how long I had to wait for my order. At this time they do take plastic. The Starbucks app they can’t scan. They have to type the numbers in. No biggie. I plan to go to this one more often just like other’s who work or around that area should go to. I am so glad things have got better there and that they answer comments on Unilocal

After 5 trips I have to say … Baristas are marginally trained and often lazy. They twice put sugar in an unsweetened tea. They are 1 for 3 on having the correct ingredients in a peppermint latte(not peppermint mocha latte, please — just peppermint). They seem to be good and standing behind the counter in a semi-circle. They now accept the Starbucks card, but have to enter the number by hand because of lack of functional scanner. Do not try ordering anything complex.

5 stars for design and ample seating inside and robust outdoor seating. In this regard — the best Starbucks in the Valley. While they do now accept the Gold Card, you can’t use the App(not a big deal, at least you get your rewards). 2 stars for the staff. The woman who appears to be the Manager is hard-working, and seems to try to motivate the staff — but these Barista’s couldn’t and wouldn’t cut it at company-owned Starbucks locations. This is typical of other City Center eateries like The Dime. One questions: can’t they hire more motivated and experienced people who face the customer? Trust me, there is a local talent pool that exists, but the management teams are not integrated into this metric. It’s going to take time until some of these restaurant/bar concepts execute. At the end of the day, I’m still happy they are here.

This is an updated review. Today at about 4pm I visited this location and it was fully staffed and only one other customer was there. I ordered 2 grande blonde but was told none was available. I said ok give me Pike Place. They said sorry but we do not have enough for 2 cups. So, I said Ok top it off with the dark and they did. When I went to use the half & half it was empty. What is going on here? I was also here in the morning and could see the staff stepping over trash on the floor instead of picking it up. This location needs better management. Coffee shops are supposed to have coffee. I’m writing this because I want this location to succeed.

I will give them the benefit of doubt to improve over the next few months. For starters, from what I’ve saw most of the workers are new, so I will cut them sime slacks. The store was opened in June 22nd, 2015.

I am a valued Starbucks junkie. I get my drink everyday. It’s really frustrating going to this Starbucks. I get it they are new, HOWEVER no excuse. I have not received my drink properly and I have went 4 times. I live at the Renaissance hotel and work at PPL building, Starbucks is across the street, however I have to drive 3 – 4 miles to the other Starbucks to get my drink. I’m unsure why there are so many baristas and yet you wait 10 – 15 minutes for a beverage. PA is not my home state but I think it’s the culture here not necessarily that Starbucks?. I hate going there and I can not use my Gold Card because there system isn’t equipped, I’m losing free drinks. It’s ever so frustrating and I don’t want to give up but I think I’m throwing in the towel, I’ll drive to get my everyday Happy Drink. I think the employees need more training. It starts from the top, maybe they need training too? Disappointed in the brand for this store.

Glad to have sbux downtown, as it is close to my work. The ambiance is great and it has ample seating inside with spacious accommodations. Outside there is plenty of seating with huge Starbucks umbrellas. Need to get the ability to take the rewards card and the iPhone/Android apps or they will lose a lot of people.
