Planet Fitness – Allentown – Hanover Ave

I have been a member here for several years. I love that when I go I don’t have any trouble getting on a machine. Any form of waiting would throw my entire schedule off. (6am-8:30am) They have plenty of machines to accommodate everyone. and just the right amount of free weights… Now that the remodeling is finished I have used the hydro beds several times and love it. I wish they would let you use them in longer sessions. 5minutes doesn’t seem to be enough. As a young women I also enjoy the fact that there are not a bunch of men staring and trying to hit on me… Everyone is friendly and respectable… I am very comfortable here.

I wish I could give this Planet Fitness a better review. I adored the one I was a member of before I moved to the valley. There are ample cardio machines, but the weight machines are limited. People disobey the posted rules constantly, and they are only enforced if you complain at the desk. Rather than having a roving employee to enforce the circuit, no jeans, no hats, no talking on the phone while sitting on a weight machine in the circuit, they force their patrons to essentially tattle on each other. Tonight I had to have 8 people thrown out of the 30 minute circuit, and it’s not like they were hogging a machine with exercise, it i apparently the phone lounge.
I truly wish I had not purchased a black card membership, if I hadn’t I would cancel my membership today.

Very Good basic gym to burn Calories and very friendly staff, very busy on weekdays from 5 – 7 PM
every now and then you get a few annoying jerks that talk loud while holding a piece of equipment when they’re not working out like it’s freaking bar, other than that you can’t beat 10 $ a month.

I’m a big fan of Planet Fitness because I never take classes at gyms so why should i pay for them? It is reasonable and there is a ton of cardio equipment. I love that I can bring a friend to work out with as well, I know Gold’s Gym no longer does that.

I’m not a big fan of Planet Fitness in general since it doesn’t have a lot weight lifting equipment, provides tanning booths, and free pizza??? — not sure what the reasoning is behind that.
However, it’s cheap, has convenient locations for me, and gets the job done for the most part. This particular location has been good so far, it’s fairly clean and the staff are friendly. My first experience there contributed to me coming back to them. I went in hoping they had a week trial pass of some sort, but they didn’t. The worker at the counter, Carlos, was nice enough to let me in under his black card to try out the gym anyway.
Outside of their control, I wish there were better food options in this plaza so after my workout and I can find something decent and healthy to eat besides the Popeyes and pizza joint. If you want to avoid the evening crowd, I think a safe time would be after 8 PM. Unless that was just the New Year’s resolution crowd :)

It is what it is. Open24/​7. Ample cardio machines. Not enough weight machines. No childcare. No classes. They serve pizza and bagels. Yeah, pizza. Not sure how anyone that is serious about working out would go there but if it has what you need, knock yourself out.
