WHAT A WASTEOFTIME! I grew up going to see the lights and thought it would be a great idea to take my family tonight. We drove around looking for it for about an hour, only to find out they apparently closed early. The website says they close at 10. At 7:30 there were not lights to be seen. So disappointing.

Fun thing to do with kids or even as a date night in the winter when activities can be limited. When I have gone we pile everyone in our huge van.

A short 10 – 15 minute ride through interesting light displays. Discounts are widely available, either online or at local stores. The displays change very little, if at all, each year.

This definitely ranks up there in the«only for the children» category of things to do in the area. At $ 10 per car LITP is really a huge ripoff. More or less the same displays year after year just on occasion moved around so you think there’s something new or different but in fact the«Old Man Winter» display has always been there it’s just it’s been put in multiple locations over the years. If for some crazy reason you decide to go keep in mind two things: 1. Don’t go right when they open at 5:30pm as every foaming at the mouth dutchy Christmas light lover will have been sitting idling their wood paneled station wagon for three hours waiting for the opening and the traffic flow/control at the entrance gate is slow at all times let alone when thirty or forty cars are all sitting around. 2. Go to Wegmans and get your discounted $ 6 tickets. If you do pay the $ 10 for this small light display then you truly must qualify for some sort of mental midget award.

Lights in the Parkway has become a family tradition now! The kids enjoy looking at the many cool Christmas theme display, my favorite part is at the end where we always go to the Farm house to shop for some goodies and find some unique last minute stocking stuffers.

Growing up, driving around looking at Christmas lights was one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. Imagine my surprise when we moved to the LV and found that there was a whole parkway devoted to Christmas lights! Hurrah! This is one holiday tradition that we continue year after year. Grab a hot chocolate and your advance ticket($ 5 per carload at Wegman’s this year — if not, $ 9 at the door, or $ 7 at the door if you print the coupon from the website) and line up for your trip down the parkway. If you go midweek a few weeks before Christmas, there will be next to no line. That’s what we did this year, but we’ve also went on a beautiful snowy Saturday that involved a 40 minute wait to get to the lights. Oh well, part of the experience. It takes 15 – 25 minutes to get through the lights, depending on the speed of your driver. Don’t forget to tune your radio to the FM station to listen to the holiday music as your drive through. Every year they add something new — it’s always my mission to find out what that new addition is. Make sure to stop at the gift barn on the way out. It’s one of the cheapest places I’ve found for Christmas crafts for your home(or for gifts). They normally open a bit after Thanksgiving & close after the new year, so don’t miss this next year!
