Excellent for coffee and pastries we even get our birthday cakes every year. The mom and pop atmosphere is very cozy and appealing. Always a good place to satisfy the need for that sweet tooth we all have.

Steered here by some local friends, I was not disappointed. There is quite a selection of cookies and pastries. Butter cookies were fairly reasonable at $ 12.00 a pound, but the high price cut my order of the almond cookies to a ½ lb. I think each almond cookie cost about $ 1.75. We also tried two loaves of the semolina bread. The bread was good and maintained much of its freshness for a couple of days. Overall, pricey but worth it.

While the pastries are excellent, the bread is mediocre. They have been charging state tax on takeout bakery items in violation of state law. Unless the item is served to you for consumption on the premises, they cannot charge state sales tax. I have shopped there for several years, and when they try to charge sales tax, I object and then they do not charge sales tax. Today, September 17, 2015, they refused to refund the sales tax and indicated that the owner had required it. After spending several thousand dollars there, they have lost my patronage. I will file a report with the PA State Sales Tax division.

Wonderful family run bakery. It’s hard not to stop here on the way home from work. The cookies and cannolis are best. I often bring the cookies to work events and give as holiday gifts. Service is always great.

The cakes are true Italian masterpieces, and also everything else is great! I love the staff. Best bakery in the valley for sure!

You’re just plain NUTS if you don’t LOVE this place. Wow, talk about amazing pastries. Riccardo is a master baker and the assortment of pastries that this place has is unreal. I’ve tried bakeries from California to NYC to you name it… this place is the best. Very friendly service, especially from Olga. If you’re into sfogiatelles, you won’t find them better ANYWHERE, trust me. Most places make them and they taste like door stops. 5 stars all the way! What a find! The only things they could do to improve the place are two-fold: 1) Spend a little time and money improving the inside appearance – especially since you have tables for people to sit down and enjoy. Give it some Italian flair! 2) Turn off the horrid radio music and play some great relaxing Italian music. No one wants to listen to top 40s and commercials about acne medications… home foreclosures and screaming car-sale commercials while they’re eating their Italian pastries… they want to relax and enjoy. 5-stars for the pastries. 2-stars for the seating/eat-in atmosphere. Overall, 4 stars. I’ll update this review if I see any changes.

I have loved everything I’ve gotten here – pastries, cookies, etc. Very fresh. Not a whole lot of foot traffic, so it’s a nice place to hang out with a laptop as well.

Was here last Thursday WOW! Old School Italian Bakery like they have in North Jersey. Owners are so super friendly. They must be use to folks looking and drooling at their cases for 15 minutes before deciding what to get. Pastries to die for! I’m glad I live in Slatington, if I lived around the corner from this place I would have LVH on speed dial from all the pastries and cookies I’d eat.

Growing up in an Italian neighborhood in upstate New York was a great experience. I used to love as a little kid walking several blocks by myself to the Italian bakeries and delis for my grandmother. This place brings back the wonderful memories of amazing cookies, pastries and breads of my childhood. I bought quite a selection of items the other day for myself and my parents. All were amazing. Fresh, delicious. Owner was as personable as could be. It’s a far drive for me but will be making many trips here in the future.

NO stars. This is by far the worst bakery I’ve ever tasted. Do the people who rated it higher than 1 have absolutely NO taste buds? If you want consistently flavorless lard in every bite of every thing, this is the place for you. The desserts are beautiful, just taste terrible. My god, come on, for the love of god, make some decent tasting desserts. How I miss bob’s bake shop in Allentown. I’ve gone her 4 times and have wasted money because I thought for sure it would turn around, but I am obviously a hopeless dreamer.

I’m part Italian. And when I see an Italian bakery, my fine motor skills take over and guide my means of conveyance directly to the bakery. As usual, my instincts rewarded me for listening to them; to wit, La Dolce Vita Italian Bakery. The woman working there was delightful. She made me a very tasty cappuccino to go along with the coconut macaroon, dipped shortbread cookie and some other thing that I cannot remember. In fact, I liked this place so much, I went there two consecutive days while in the LV area on business. And each time was wonderful. It smelled great, you can see the baker working his craft in the kitchen and the service was pleasant.

Wow wow wow! We had a little bit of everything in the cookie case. I think the brownie cookies are my favorite. When I have a few extra calories saved up I will move onto the cakes which I am sure are delish.

The one star isn’t for the food it is for the service. Completely AWEFUL!!! I discovered this place by accident and was so happy to find an authentic Italian bakery that made really delicious cheesecake. Anyway, I asked the person who helped me how much would it cost to order a cheesecake for my son’s birthday? I was told that it is charged by the pound and all customized orders would have to be made no later than 48 hours before it was needed. Ok, that’s reasonable. Fast forward to 72 hours before my son’s birthday. I called to place my order for a 10 inch strawberry cream cheese cake. I was then told that the baker had recently made a bunch of 8 inch cheesecakes and would not and did not«feel» like making anymore. WHAT!!! This is how you run a business!!! I reminded this woman that I was the person who spoke to her about this order just a few days ago and how she advised me of the time frame in which to place orders and that I was well within that time frame. She said that she would ask again. The baker/owner said that he was absolutely NOT making anymore cheesecakes and that I would have to be satisfied with what was already made. Given that I needed a 10inch cake, they simply said that I should just buy two 8 inch cakes to satisfy my needs. I then pleaded and even offered to pay extra! These people would not budge. Needless to say. I didn’t purchase anything, and I most definitely NEVER will. If this is how they run a business and accommodate customers then I want no part of it.

Best Itaian bakery in the LV. I had cakes from here from people that I used to work with that brought them in. We also ordered our daughter’s baptism cake from here and it was so good. Lemon cake with whipped cream. The Italian cookies and pastries are exactly like what I grew up with. The owner is very friendly. A little pricey, but you get an excellent product. Big variety of pastries to choose from. The jelly cookies dipped in chocolate are my fave. If you are a NY/NJ Italian, this is exactly what this area needs.
