Too much margarita. Transmission will be short– food is good, nothing to write home about but above average portions. Great margaritas. Try the mango Mahi, but don’t let them over cook it. Besties salad was pretty good. Aweslome margaritas. Service not quite average. Had to ask for refills repeatedly but server will get a tip. Good drinks.

Early in January 16 we had lunch at OTB and had a very good lunch with excellent service. Additionally the manager was roving around and making sure that the customers were satisfied with the service and their selections. Two weeks later we returned for lunch expecting another nice lunch. For starters when we entered the person who was at the front was totally untrained and had a problem with communication. She took us to a table and it was ok but not our first choice as we prefer a booth. The only booth open had not been cleaned up. Another table in my wife’s line of sight also remained uncleared for a extended period of time. Fortunately the wait staff were on the ball and we had good drinks and food promptly served hot. COMMENT We have patronized OTB over the years and we are wondering why during the lunch hour we are entering a nearly empty restaurant? On our latest visit we did not see any management checking. On this visit it seemed they were on autopilot. On the the subject of the greeter at the front desk. I have a heart for the handicapped and know firsthand the hardships they endure. My wife is a polio victim and requires assistance and is in a wheelchair. So when we encountered the greeter and recognized that she was handicapped and unable to communicate well and was not well trained we were disturbed. She was put in a position where she was having difficulties and it is rather unfeeling to put a person in that position without understanding the level of difficulty that her handicap imposes upon her. So I hope OTB has a policy of hiring the handicapped but management has to be sensitive to their needs and give them positions that they can do well and feel good about their jobs.

Similar to Chili’s, the key here is that the food is consistent. Nothing amazing, not bad, but consistent. Wife had a craving for their nachos, I had some cheese enchiladas. Both were good. Service was pretty good, we waited a little long upfront but our waiter seated us, was very nice and made sure we got everything we needed. Not bad overall.

I love mexican food, it’s hard to mess that up for me, and I hate writing bad reviews but hopefully management will better things upon reading this. Yesterday I came in to order takeout. Ranchilatas I believe? While the steak was tender and delicious, the enchilada that came with it was nothing special. Not $ 15 worth. Salsa tasted like it was from a tomato can, and the queso was not worth it at all. Turned into a rubbery texture when I poured some hot sauce into it, that’s never happened with any queso I’ve had before. To top it off, the chips were extremely stale. I thought I was being too picky, but even my coworker pointed out that it had a weird smell to it, and they’ve dined there before. All in all, a waste of $ 20. I’ll give them another chance in the future, I really hope it was just an off day as I love mexican food and have had good experiences with on the border in the past.

We chose OTB because we had a gift card from a referral. I would’ve rather paid double and let the gift card expire or re-gift it. Where to even start; food service were equally disappointing. The food is overpriced and bland. $ 6.50 for a scoop of guacamole on a plate called an appetizer is a joke. The waitress was inattentive, bringing no extra napkins, forgetting one child’s drink and never refilling the tea and water my wife and I had. Our food was very ok. Warm, not hot. Fajitas were not sizzling like you’re used to. I won’t be rushing back here.

Amazing customer service! I was in a few nights ago and they were so busy! Our server Claire did a great job taking care of us and her other tables. I was very impressed. I will be asking for her next time I come in.

We’ve had border food before and really liked it. Decided to try this one too. Bad idea. The food was tasteless. If we are blind folded, wouldn’t have know what we were eating. We had fish tacos and got a side of fries for our little boy. The fries were more flavorful than our food. We don’t plan to go back.

You can’t find better Tex-Mex queso. Order that and only that, eat the rest of your meal somewhere else. The food is terrible and service is often worse. Sad

The meal was ok; however, the chips were greasy and soggy, and when we complained, the replacement chips came after we’d finished our meal. The service was just adequate. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it seemed that, although there was a lot of staff and everyone seemed busy, it was disorganized. I love On the Border and was very disappointed in the dining experience.

Frozen food, watered down drinks, bad service and inattentive management! Nothing our party of 5 ordered was cooked on premises, our $ 7 cosmopolitan was all cranberry juice, the only plate the waiter would clear was so we had room to sign the check, and the manager’s «give a damn» was so busted the $ 7 Cosmo he carried off was still on the bill.

Not impressed with this place, the taste can be better — call it industrialized Mexican food, my recommendation is choose a non-chain restaurant if you want good Mexican, Tex-Mex food.

Main Ingredient — Salt. My BFF loves this place for their Guacamole Live. Avocados are large and flavorless. Hence all the extras to give it flavor. It is a shame to say I eat before I get there due to the heavily laden salty dishes they pass off as Mexican. I travel frequently to Mexico and do not taste salt in their foods and rarely see a shaker of it on tables. Spices people, use spices, not salt. At OTB, I order sparingly if at all. E Cheese Enchiladas should taste cheesy not salty. Tortilla Soup and salsa, salt is the leading flavor. At our usual spot we sit at to chat(I order Crown and Coke, knowing what that should taste like), unfortunately my place faces the swinging doors of the kitchen. It is not a clean kitchen. Their floor is always dirty, the trash can is right next to their«pick up and serve area» dishwashers pick from plates that are going out and I’ve never seen any employee in that area wearing gloves who are preparing the meals. The waitstaff always seemed bored, can’t wait to get to the back to check their phones and you literally have to beg to get your check. Their new commercials(taco — taco — taco — taco x infinity and the Enchilada x double infinity) have turned my face completely away from this place. Two months later I get a reply from OTB from my Trip Advisor Review– a generated message to contact their Guest Relations Manager. No matter what discounts or coupons they may offer as a last resort, OTB will not be receiving my business. My BFF knows if this is where we are going for dinner, I opt out.

Called in carry out. Food was ready fast. And when I got there I asked for a few small changes and the girl at the carry out counter tonight was so nice and accommodating.

Before I wrote this review my wife said it was the worst lunch she had in Texas. I have agree. Slow service and poor quality food. The staff was very friendly just not efficient. Don’t need to return.

Guacamole Live is great… along with Chicken Fundido. Decent drinks and good service. Patio seems a little«closed in» would like to see it more open

I have to tell you that the only reason I chose OTB was the fact I had a $ 50 gift card. I chose this location because it wasn’t crowded like the other one that is slightly closer to my house. The place wasn’t packed, the service was o.k. The food was good, but it wasn’t very hot. The salsa for the chips is too sweet for me. I had the southwest chicken tacos(good), tons of food. My oldest son had the Beef Empanadas,(double order), he said they were good. My younger son got the Rancheradas(Friggin expensive), he yummed them up, but couldn’t eat it all having filled up on chips.

I love my OTB but this location was just okay. Our waitress was a bit too scarcastic. I ordered an Iced Tea but it came out as Hot Tea with one cube of ice left. I asked for more ice but didn’t get it til after asking 3 more times. Refill for my tea was really slow. Our orders were mixed up as well. We came right before the rush so not sure why our service was slow at times. Seems like our waitress was more attentive to the table behind us. Maybe I just came in on an off day but I just wasn’t impressed with this location. Food was great though as usual but service was not up to par.

Front desk service is bad. They seated my kid with adult menu and I had to ask several times for kids coloring menu with no success. Finally I had to walk up to the front desk to get one. Then the food came 1 hr later. the manager came and said they were backed up. the wait staff said they messed up and will take it off the bill. The bill came and 23 $ was taken off of 60 when I was told that the lunch would be on the house. Another 45 minute wait for the check. It was mothers day. The Asian families had to ask for a flower stem whereas the other non Asians were offered as soon as they walked in. Needless to say this is one place I won’t be going back. And the food — COLD!!!

There is a terrific special advertised for On The Border thus we took advantage of that offer. Had the chicken and beef enchilada along with the tortilla soup. All were delicious. There was avocado dip for an appetizer and chocolate brownie for dessert. All were excellent. The service was likewise as good.

My mom wanted to go here for her birthday, I’m not quite sure why she chose this place instead of some tried and true restaurant that she would be confident in, but meh, it’s her birthday, she can eat bad if she wants to! My main issue here is that on a Saturday at lunch time they supposedly only had two chefs in the kitchen, and the restaurant was pretty full. This resulted in us waiting almost an hour to receive our entrees. I ordered some beef empanadas, and a cheese chile relleno on their lunch special. My husband got a quesadilla and my mom got some enchiladas. By the time we actually got the food we were so hungry we just scarfed down the food. Honestly, I can remember the beef in the empanadas had a good flavor but the actual empanada crust was greasy, and the chile relleno was just bad. Hubby was fine with his, but my mom barely ate one of her enchiladas and ate all her beans and rice. Honestly, the food wasn’t that great, and although our waiter was nice the wait time was abysmal. I won’t be back, that’s for sure!
