Hard to give a complete review since we walked in right when they were closing up for a private event(about 4pm) — we were only allowed to have one beer. The IPA was good, and my buddy’s special was pretty tasty as well. I can’t comment on the atmosphere since they were closing up. The place is pretty small with a few cowboy-looking tables and stools and several TVs playing sports on the walls. Hope to visit again during the evening hours…

The beers were tasty, the tour was fun, and the owner was very personable. Can’t wait to go back again. Great crowd on a Saturday and they had football games on the TVs, so you can relax and enjoy one of the newer microbreweries in the Allen area.

Great place that my girlfriend and I went to recently. Have a large outside patio with seating and also heaters for winter. The stout was excellent!

Allen’s only brewery has a really homey space inside and a nice patio with a reach through to the bar. They offer several beers in this tap room, including their excellent Honey blonde and Porter. People who like IPAs will also enjoy their offering. Usually they have someone providing food when they’re open, so you don’t have to stay hungry. The only downside is that they don’t really offer non-alcoholic drinks, so my wife who doesn’t like beer doesn’t have much reason to go. For beer drinkers it’s definitely worth a visit.

We’ve visited a few times and enjoy the atmosphere and the brews here. The Toad Choker Barleywine is the favorite for my wife and I, whereas our daughters prefer the Pale Ale, which I think is good but not as good as many I have had. The Kolsch is good and clean; I am not a big fan of that style but it’ll work well for you if you are. The early reviews where plastic glasses are mentioned – ignore those, they have nice pint glasses for the ale and tulip glasses for the high-ABV barleywine. The taproom is a fun place to meet friends – we live nearby and have both come with snacks/dinner and ordered a pizza for delivery. The limited hours make it hard to visit, but worthwhile when we can make it. Finally a brewery in the suburbs! Bring some friends and hoist one in the neighborhood.

My wife and I went there for the first time last week. I have to say we liked it a lot, very nice ambience and home made brews are on par with the many craft beer establishments. They don’t serve any food but you can bring your own or have it delivered from wherever you like.

This brewery has some legit brews. I like their Barley wine beer the Toad Choker the best. They names of the other brews creative and taste good. The tap room is nice. All wooden stools and table tops. The outdoor patio is really nice. They’ll have a band playing out on the patio on Fridays and maybe other days as well. They staff is friendly and so are patrons. Stop by!

I have to share my experience since it seems some haven’t had a positive one. We did the flights as opposed to the tour, and luckily the glasses were full. I was hesitant to go the tour route since it was $ 10 for three beers(plus one on the tour) and the flight is $ 6. I was impressed with the head brewer, Ian. He did a tour even though there were only four of us. Very informative, yet not too much or too little jargon. Overall, a good experience and I look forward to seeing what Nine Band does in the future.

Second visit here — love the atmosphere! The Toad Choker barley wine is my favorite. I haven’t had the poor experiences mentioned by other reviewers; looking forward to seeing how this brewery develops!

No glassware. All plastic. 5 in our party — ordered 5 flight samples of all their beers and stopped the guy when we saw the small pours in plastic cups. The amount in each cup was the volume we’re used to getting as samples when we visit any other brewery/brew pubs. All the beers are super mediocre. Nothing worth ordering a pint of. Looked around and noticed several half-finished beers. Totally understand why. Lots of work to do here.

Brewery for the ‘burbs, music to my ears! Came in here on a Tuesday night with a friend. As you would expect, not too many people in the tap room which is fine by me. The tap room isn’t huge but on a weeknight, it wasn’t an issue. The location is perfect, a stone’s throw from US75 right off Bethany. I guess Allen is a lot more progressive than I thought, I say that because it’s located right across the street from a church. I always thought city ordinances frown on those types of things? Anyhow, on the night we went, they only had 3 beers available and I had two of out of the 3. The Kolsh was my favorite. Light but full of flavor. I really like the Franconia(McKinney) Kolsh and word on the street is that the owner of Nine Band used to own Franconia, so it’s no wonder I liked it so much. The other beer I had was the Hefeweisen. Although that too was a really refreshing brew, it didn’t quite stroke my taste buds like the Kolsh did. The owner, Keith, was pulling the taps that night and he was really inviting and friendly. You can tell that he’s really customer oriented and was engaging. Extra points for that. Fun trivia: Nine band is so named because armadillos have 9 bands. You’ll see lots of armadillos on the glasses and merch because of this.

This small«local» brewery has lots of potential. Their place is very cute and quaint. The patio area was very nice, especially having gone on the day the storms had let up making it an enjoyable occasion. Unfortunately, they are still babies and have only three selections, of which I am not a horribly big fan of IPA(not their fault, of course.) I did think their price was a bit steep for having been served their three samples in a small plastic cup where everywhere else you get the same in a full glass pint you get to keep. Granted, they are a started but I believe they have to remain competitive in order to be successful, especially since most of the metroplex has to travel their way(a long way) if they want to sample their beers. You don’t want to come out feeling like you just over spent.

Beer was fair. Taproom has chairs without seat backs. They aren’t very comfortable to sit in without any cushions. Not much ambience either. Nice tvs though. Small beer selection. Only three currently. More types of beer will be offered in the future. Guessing they aren’t up to code on a few things. Patio is not fenced in per TABC guidelines. Patio has a nice wood finish look but not as nice as Katy Trail. Won’t be back though. Better places around the DFW area for your money. Not sure if they are dog friendly. Forgot to ask.

went to the first«tour» on a Saturday they offer. 10 $ for a tour…3 tickets for SMALL beer samples in a plastic cup… if you order a «regular» pint in the tap room… you get a pint size plastic cup(that better is just in the beginning until they get REAL glassware) no glass pint to keep when you pay the 10 $ for the tour. .u can buy that extra for another 10 $…disappointing. The beer was ok… not the best i had from a local brewery. Will not be back… there are so many other and better options in DFW now.

I normally don’t like the taste of drink beer but I enjoyed all 3 flavors at nine-band. Great TV’s and seating and the staff couldn’t be more friendly.
