After reading previous reviews, I have come to conclusion that the dinner crowd has better waitstaff than lunch. We have beeen here four times for lunch and service is very poor. The waitress led us to our table, then dropped two menus on table and walked off without saying a word or even glancing back at us. There were only a few customers at that time. We waited long time for her to come back for order and when she brought the food, we asked for extra napkin but were almost finished with meal before we received napkins. Again not a word to us. Had to wait for ticket, and finally had to go to register to finish paying for the meal. Never did we hear«thank you for coming in» –in fact not word was said. I guess there are lot of people who hate their job, but I have a choice where I eat, and I won’t be back here soon. BTW-food was just so-so. Will find another place.

(Free) Chips– hard (Free) Salsa– more on the tomato(less on the spice) (1.49) Queso– delicious (3.99) Sangria– not typical(just a wine more so than the sangria) but also delicious (9.25) Flautas– hard as the chips, a little overcooked possibly (0.99 for 1) Sopapilla– overcooked, kraft honey packets Loved the décor of the inside and that they offer patio. Waiter(Pablo) was terrific. Overall, cheap meal that was overcooked but I’d go again.

Good and consistent Mexican food. Regular stop for me and my boyfriend on date night and haven’t ever had a negative experience. I like the cheese enchiladas and their queso personally.

The food and customer service at Jalapeños are above and beyond what you’d expect from a local restaurant. Not only do they provide online ordering – but they have amazing prices for the portions that they serve. I recommend trying their fajitas and margaritas. Their shrimp and beef fajitas are top-notch and I anticipate meeting here again with friends for future celebratory events. Keep up the good work!

Decent food. Love that that they have days that kids eat free. It’s typically not to crowded which we love. They have pretty good enchiladas. Good prices so that is always a plus!

Great food, great prices, friendly service(Amanda) and good atmosphere. Would rate them a 5, but chips could be better. Our first visit was great… kids were tired after going to Six Flags. Arrived at 8:30 and were done and walking out the door a few mins after 9pm. Will definitely go back.

Were I to rate Jalapenos on food quality alone, it be darn near 4 or 5 stars, up there with Mexi Go in the area. Fantastic Cheese enchiladas with a generous helping of rich, dark, homemade, chili con carne on top. Taco was a notch above average. Guac tostada OK. Beans were a better than the usual, and the rice was a bit more than an afterthought. Only negative were the quite ordinary store bought chips. In fact, I can and do buy better. I don’t downgrade ratings based on chips and salsa tho. Salsa was a bit better but very tomatoey and still pretty ordinary. House mrgrta above average and at $ 3, a bargain. I was flying solo tonight and perhaps that contributed to the woeful service. I can’t totally fault the waiter as he was always rushing around but management needs to emphasize that a one party review contributes as much to their average weighting as a review from a group of 12. I had to flag down my waiter(I was seated in Siberia, well off his beaten track) to order, and likewise flag down a bus lady for chips/salsa well after I ordered. Forget about getting the shallow salsa bowl refilled. Food took a long time in coming. I literally had to run down the waiter to get my check. Quite poor service overall. I’d give service 2** and the food near 5, for an average of 3.5. No way I’m rounding up to 4 after the service issues. 3 hits it about right, subject to change if service improves.

We’ve been frequenting this spot for years. The owner is friendly and always recognizes us and makes it a point to talk with us. Service is occasionally hit/miss but has really improved in recent months. it’s not a fancy place, but they do serve good food at good prices. Their margaritas are tasty and strong. We like their fajitas, quesadillas and nachos the best. It’s quick, consistently good and close to home so it’s a regular in our rotation.

I have always loved this place and prices are right. Today, I went to eat lunch food was great but it was the lack of cleanliness. The lamp above the table was covered in dust. I sneezed the whole time. Please fix this I want to come back

Horrible service from the wait staff! ! My family and I ate here one Friday night we waited forever on our food only got drink refills only because we had to track someone down to refill them and then to to it off our 5 year old son forgot and left his Kendal fire in the booth we called the next morning since they were closing when we left only to be told«oh yeah we found it and put it in the office but we had an employee quite last night and we think he stole it»!! We were outraged they would not replace it. This place is a joke and needs to be shut down its filthy!

I’ll give them 2.5 after three lunch time visits. The quality was way too varied and the same waitress all 3 times was just indifferent. Never got tea refills, checked on or personality in general. But the guacamole was well done. But probably not going back. Too bad, because on of my lunches was really tasty with great enchiladas.

The food is bland– tastes like what northerners think Tex-mex should be. Place feels dirty and service is sad. I think it’s only popular for the cheap margaritas

I am from San Antonio and I know good cheese enchiladas with chili con carne. I give this place my blessing because it seems authentic to San Antonio Texmex which is a hard find around here, and the quality of the cheese was good. At least this place was better than the last 4 restaurants I tried Texmex at.

Ordered take out Nachos and Chicken Enchiladas. The service was quick and they offered me water while I waited. When I got home to dig in, I was pleasantly surprised! They separated the items for the nachos out so that everything wouldn’t get soggy. The enchiladas with rice and beans were really good! My hubs enjoyed his nachos also! I will definitely eat here again! Great place and I love that’s it’s right in my neighborhood!

Went here Saturday night & it was amazing! They had 14oz peach margarita special for only $ 4.99, wow. Staff was awesome! Manager is always energetic & so nice. I love the chili Relleno tacos, best invention ever! Chips & salsa are so yummy! Can’t get enough of them! Try the watermelon margarita, sounds kind of weird but definitely good! It seems like every Saturday the have a different flavor of margarita on special & that’s so awesome. Keeps things interesting. Over all, I love this place! We come at least once a week. Try it if your ever in Allen!

We stopped here desperate to find a decent place to celebrate the Championship Victory with our son after a weekend long — 7 game baseball tournament. It was late and they were about to close but let us order to go so we wouldn’t starve on the 2 hour drive home. The staff was very friendly even though it was closing time and helpful to get a quick order in. The fajitas are melt in your mouth and rice was soooo good(that’s the ultimate test for me at a Mexican restaurant… it needs to taste home made:) I highly recommend this place! Next time we are in Allen I hope to be able to dine in and get to know the menu a little better :)

This place is awesome if you are looking to just have some pretty damn good Mexican food that has a lot of variety and remains inexpensive. Also you pretty much have to drink the margaritas. Awesome chips and salsa, laid back feel, don’t be turned off by the uppity reviewers who can’t appreciate a simple place!!! Go here for good food and good drinks period!

The first thing I noticed when walking in was the amazing Mexican trumpet music. The second was the blazing well kempt mullet of my waiter. Third, the margaritas are awesome. Forth, they have those cool advertisements built into the tables with half the businesses on them no longer being on business(I called them) 4 stars easily.

Wasn’t wowed, wasn’t terrible. Service was okay. The restaurant interior was lacking a bit, so if ambiance is your thing– you may be disappointed. Salsa was good, if not a bit spicy. Cheese dip was a yellow cheese. I would recommend the chicken chipotle sauce, very good. Fish tacos were solid. However the actual mexican dishes(enchiladas and tamales) were relatively bland. Overall I would come back, but it wouldn’t be a first choice.
