My husband was injured on the job, and I do understand that Concentra and places like it are the typical place folks are sent for drug screening, workman’s comp, and the like. The place was clean and the counter staff were relatively friendly and helpful. The problem I had was with the actual medical services provided. My husband saw Dr. Christopher F. Galus, who not only did not ask appropriate questions regarding his injury, but who also gave a flimsy diagnosis, and wrote a note saying he could go back to work today… as long as he doesn’t use his left arm at all. Well… he delivers uniforms and mats to businesses. You need both arms for that, say nothing of needing both arms for driving. Even those things I may have been able to overlook, but what about prescribing medication where one of the most common side effects is vertigo TO A PATIENTWHOSEMEDICALHISTORYSPELLSOUTTHATHEISPRONETOVERTIGO?!? On top of that, when we called and pointed out the error, the doctor apologized and then prescribed a medication THATHEISALLERGICTO! Do you read, Dr. Galus?!? How are you allowed to treat patients without reading their personal information and medical history first? The last time my husband had vertigo, he ended up in the hospital on an I.V., I shudder to think that we could have ended up there again, had I not Googled the name of the medication we were given. So in addition to giving us a medication that was potentially very harmful, they also did NOT give us an information sheet, telling us any of the side-effects, or potentially bad drug interactions. I understand that Concentra is, in may ways, the fast food chain of the medical industry, but please don’t let that stop you from taking good care of human beings. God forbid one day you are the person in need of medical help and you get someone like you as a physician. In my opinion, the whole process at Concentra is broken and needs to be fixed. After all the hands that touched that paperwork, SOMEONE should have at least read it. This entire experience was, in my opinion, ridiculous. The patient should not have to police the doctor or his office and how they do their jobs. They should just do them and do them correctly.
