I don’t know the quality of the food or drink at this place, but when my 9 year old kid asked for a cup of water, she was told that they didn’t have ANY water there and to go find a fountain. They certainly will not be getting any business from me. I wonder what they use to brew coffee.

Attached to the library, had the lavender latte. Was amazing. Also the woman that ran us up walked out lattes over to us as we were sitting on one of the couches. Great customer service! Will Definitely be back. Weird that they aren’t open on Sunday’s though!

There’s something so beautiful about a place that takes pride in their food and drink. Christine’s food, desserts, and coffee all fit the bill. Excellent service with fare that exudes passion. The menu is simple, but the flavors are delicious. One of the best breve lattes I’ve had in a while. Now I know why Courtney raves about this place. Will be coming back when I eat carbs haha

This is a bakery-coffee shop that serves the not Starbucks folks. It’s a bit on the quiet side, in keeping with its library locale. The coffee is to my taste, I don’t add sweetener or cream. I find the service to be caring and efficient. Order your breakfast of egg and. sandwiches, or any of the other offerings, or, I mean this, try their gluten free scones. Take a seat on the sofa, give them a few minutes, everything is made to order. Christine will bring you your order with a smile. I’ve tried coffee, mocha, and hot chocolate. All most enjoyable. The breakfast sandwich sustained me thru a round of golf. BUT, to my mind this is a really high quality bakery, with a somewhat narrow selection, due to I would guess, demand, or the lack of. I’m from New York, have been looking for a place to start my day… this works!

Their scones are incredible! The barista I talked to was really friendly as well. I loved the chai(actually real tea — so rare) and have heard good things about the Lavender Latte.

AMAZING! I wanted a delicious sandwich for lunch and I’m so happy that I found this place. It is within walking distance from my work. I got the Lavender Latte and it was delicious! I, also, ordered the grilled brie sandwich. I was actually a little scared that it was going to be a sweet sando since it has apples and blackberry spread on it. But to my surprise it wasn’t. Everything in it complimented it so well and greatly paired with the little pickles on the side. I already cannot wait to go back!

As far as coffee in also viejo this place is great! I used to live in the area and came here a lot. Moved to long beach but I recently returned and of course had to visit. Located right next to they library and everyone’s really nice. Recently got new owners and the homemade scones were amazing. They still have their speciality lavender mocha which is ine of my favorites. Ive been spoiled by long beach coffee shops so it’s not quite as good as I once thought it was but is still good for coffee shops in the area. I recommend three cookies and cream scone.

Went in the other day after hearing a ton of great reviews about this place and was a little disappointed. I ordered a latte, which in my opinion is a solid way to gauge the quality of a coffee shop. The foam was decent, but it wasn’t super warm, and the espresso was pretty weak. I drank it, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t anything I would come back for. The service here was fine; the person working there was very nice. It looks like this place is known for their food items, so perhaps if I had gotten something to eat my opinion would be different? But overall, it’s a fine place to get a cup of coffee if you wanna do some reading and don’t want somewhere as packed as Starbucks, but there really isn’t anything«special» about this place.

This is my favorite coffee shop, and Aliso Viejo hidden treat. I came for the lavender lattes that are spoken about so much in other reviews. Hot or iced they’re amazing with all different milk options: coconut, almond, low fat. All their food and baked goods are homemade. My favorite is the lavender lemon scone, which I’m sure you can gather I’m a sucker for all things lavender. But it’s buttery goodness is to die for. The customer service is amazing, family owned and thoughtful, truly wonderful people. Their coffee overall is good. Their drinks are great and grab a scone while your there. My husband loves their breakfast burritos made to order and the crème brûlée latte. Enjoy a nice sunny table outside or sit in their cute couches and seats inside. All in all an amazing neighborhood coffee shop owned by good people.

They are a 4.5 star affair… The BREAKFASTBURRITO and BREAKFASTCROISSANTSANDIE are both nice but the croissant wins. The price is fair for the size provided. The STAFF are friendly and helpful. Good java, eats, baked goods… what’s not to like.

Quaint slow refuge to drop your guard and recharge with a bold cup of joe elevated with an extra expresso. Breakfast is simple but with a gourmet influence. Come by and see what I mean…

One of those places kind of out of the way, you have to me here on purpose(it’s next to the City Library, that’s why it’s so quiet!). The customer service here is great, every time I cam had a great experience. I only had coffee or hot chocolate while using their free wifi, but they serve real food here, sandwiches and pastry. The place needs some improvements here and there, hopefully they would get more customers so they could afford them. This is one of those places that you want to see thriving because we need more of them, some more advertising wouldn’t hurt.

As a somewhat regular coffee drinker, I appreciate a Bold cup of coffee. If I wanted to drink a watered down coffee I could make one at home since I never know what the best coffee to water ratio is… The reason that I brought up this is the reason that this place got a 2 star review from Me… I ordered their coffee along with the White Chocolate Cherry scone… I am assuming the business is run by a mother and daughter. So the daughter helped me at the register and soon after I started walking to grab my coffee from the Mother. I always like to leave some room for cream when it comes to my coffee, but that doesn’t mean that I like my cup to be 2⁄3 full or 1⁄3 empty. Do you see the point??? And unfortunately that is what happend. I told the lady if I could have the cup fuller please and that is when to my surprise she added boiled water to my coffee… I was not a happy camper at that moment, and to make the situation even worse, she kept repeating, «The cream is right there, go and put some cream in your coffee.» I just walked out because I was super annoyed… Had some of the scone that tasted very bland and nothing special… My watered down coffee tasted exactly like the name… «WATERY»… Although they always say to support your local businesses, when it comes to my coffee, I would not want to support this business… Sorry TNC…

I look forward to Saturdays because i know i can come on over to the neighborhood cup for my lavender latte. It gives me the caffeine to get up and go yet calms my soul at the same time. I always get two so i can enjoy one at home on Sunday. Often times it never makes it to Sunday… lol The atmosphere is relaxing, the service and owners are great. The bakery & menu options have something for everyone. I often get the breakfast burrito or croissant. :) Love love love this place.

Fantastic everything. The chef is a genius of her own! The bacon fig scone is to die for! I’m so happy I’m walking distance from this library. I will take my mom when she’s in town. Fast wifi, calm environment, good strong coffee. What more can you ask for!

L-O-V-E!!! From the reviews, I had to have the brie grilled cheese and(iced) lavender latte. I don’t drink coffee ever and this lavender deal was so yummy! A very subtle lavender flavoring that was extremely refreshing after a 3 hour hike at Aliso and Wood Canyon. The rumors are true about the brie grilled cheese(brie, apples and blackberry preserves)… INCREDIBLE!!! I will be back VERY soon! The owner, Christine and her Mom were extremely friendly and kind. I don’t get why this place isn’t busier! GO… now!

We stopped in here after a very rigorous hike in Aliso and Wood Canyon. This gem is tucked away next to Aliso Viejo Library. This is better than ANY other coffee and/or sandwich shop nearby. We ordered the Grilled Brie(brie, raspberry jam, and thin granny smith apple slices); insanely good, Turkey Cranberry Panini with cream cheese; the goodness of Thanksgiving in one sandwich, Lavender Latte over ice; very refreshing with a beautiful hint of lavender, blended crème brûlée with whip; need I say more. Then to top it all off we ordered one ooey, gooey brownie… did I mention we went on a rigorous hike beforehand? This is the first, but won’t be the last time we visit this Neighborhood.

I loved this place! I, like other reviewers, asked for a recommendation and the lavender vanilla latte and brie grilled cheese was suggested to me. I’m normally not big on brie, but I was NOT let down! This place is so, so good. The staff is very sweet, and they came out to ask me how everything was and were just so friendly and nice! It was a really personal experience that you don’t find much around here. Best part is, it’s connected to the Aliso Viejo library so I can enjoy a book here whenever I want. :)

I wish ALL public libraries had attached cafes! This cute spot is locally owned and operated by Chef Christine and her sweet Mom. I gladly support the Neighborhood Cup over all the over-saturation of chain & fast food options in Aliso Viejo. The coffee is great. The soups are heated to order and comes out piping hot. There’s always a good variety of options from fresh fruit to scones & cookies to wraps & salads. There’s even an ice cream/Popsicle selection. You will be pleased with the hot, iced & blended drink options. To top it all off the service is kind and friendly. Please support local small businesses.

I had to bump up the rating for customer service. I came in for a coffee and her awesome scones and she remembered me from the last time I chatted with her. She took the time to thank me and give me a new sample. This type of customer service is definitely missing in most businesses and only those that give it deserve 5 stars. I’ve been going here for many years and have seen the location change owners more times than I can remember. The great thing about the new owner, Christine Chung, is that she gave up a corporate job to follow her passion to become a chef. The good news is that she’s a pastry chef so it’s the perfect person to run a local coffee shop. She uses her own recipes and bakes some unbelievable cookies and scones. They’ve kept some of the favorite coffee drinks, such as the unique Lavender Latte, so she was smart enough not to forget the longtime customers. I’ll try to stop by more often now that I know it’s in good hands.
