I had a chance to try Jimboys tacos recently. It’s pretty good. Not great. But it’s pretty good. I had the tacos, and visited their salsa bar. Overall it just feels a little overpriced. If they knocked down their prices by about 30% it feels like it would be worth it. Food tastes great though.

Every time I come to Jimboy’s, I become a bigger fan. I don’t know if I just have a school girl crush, or if this place is every thing I think it is and more. The food is great. The staff is so nice, and friendly every time. I like going where the people who are making my food know your name, your not just a nameless, faceless order. Cezar, and Martin always smiling and greet you by name coming and going. I’m not so easily impressed but I have to say Jimboy’s Taco’s has it figured out. Good Food, Good Prices, Good People working there. So now I’m hungry like always so guess where I’m going!!! It’s always good day with Taco’s in it.

This place is a lot like a childhood place I went to for 30 years so I am so happy to find a new local spot like Jimboys that has yummy ground beef tacos and burritos. Not your typical Mexican place, which is good because it switches things up a bit. This is a great lunch or dinner fast food joint! Staff is very friendly too!

Eh just a bit better than jack in the box tacos! Really greasy tacos kinda think it’s a late night spot because it is in a gas station. Got the ground beef tacos(what they are know for) and they were mediocre at best! I heard it’s a NorCal thing but down here in SoCal it’s hard to compete with any Taco shop! Wish they carried Pepsi…

Who would think a taco sprinkled with Parmesan would be good??? Well it’s amazing. I’ve eaten here at least 10 times in two months, the tacos are great! And staff is super friendly.

Three of us checked out their tacos today. The service was very friendly and they have a nice selection of tacos. They also have a great selection of drinks available. We tried the beef, chicken, and pork tacos and all were very good! We’ll be back!

I love these tacos! It’s hard to find good ground beef tacos but these guys hit the mark! I will definitely be going back.

Good service, and even though the tacos aren’t fantastic they’re a leg up from the likes of Del Taco/Taco Bell. Cleanliness: 4⁄5 Architectural Integrity: 4⁄5(can most likely withstand up to a 6.0 magnitude earthquake due to it being connected to a gas station)

I had been meaning to try this place, I drive by it twice a day. Finally had some free time and stopped by to grab some quick breakfast. Had the bacon breakfast wrap. Surprised to have a fresh egg cooked to perfection and crispy bacon from a quick service type of restaurant. Definitely made to order and for only $ 2.69! Great deal for a quick filling breakfast on the go. Will definitely come back with the family to try lunch and dinner offerings! Pros– Friendly staff Salsa bar with 6 different salsa, jalapenos, onions, and carrots Fresh ingredients made to order Reasonably priced Cons– None

The tacos are unique — they have parmesan cheese dusted onto the shells. I found the ground beef tacos to be somewhat greasy. The nachos here are decent. The cashier was a cheerful young woman who brought our food out to us. On Taco Tuesdays, they have a 2 Tacos and drink special for $ 5. The restaurant is clean. Overall I would say the food is average tasting.

This is by far my favorite place to eat. Not just because i work here but because the quality of the food is great and the service gets better every single day. We have a secret menu to die for and we wont stop there. We plan on opening many more stores in southern california so keep your eyes open for one coming soon in your area!!!

Arturo, Martin and Nestor are great! We love the ground beef tacos here. The carnitas are tender and flavorful. Everything is made with quality ingredients such as stone ground corn tortillas, guacamole made fresh daily and made from scratch poco de gallo salsa-yummy! If you haven’t been in yet, you need to get in and taste the difference…

Holy crap, what a gut bomb. The«original» tacos are so incredibly basic: ground beef, lettuce, cheese. The thing that sets them apart is the stone ground corn tortilla which has great potential, but they butter it up and dump Parmesan on it. Very very heavy. I felt gross after eating two. If you’re trying to plug up your arteries as soon as possible, this is the place for you.

Just had my first experience with Jim Boys tacos… Fast friendly service in a nice clean environment… and the gas station and bathroom portions were shockingly just as clean. While my 17yr old sat down with his own 12 pack(approx $ 23) Peps and I shared a sixer(approx $ 13)…it was a perfect 2⁄4 split! The tacos are good… giving you a kinda homemade taco feel with their ground meat cheese and lettuce. I can see why they’re such a favorite for my son! How to make the 3 hour trek even more worthy…6 more tacos to go lol! ****These aren’t the best tacos I’ve ever had but the experience as a whole deserved a 5… thanks management for the complimentary fresh and hot chips!

Meh. I was excited about Jimboy’s Tacos opening so close to my place since I’ve heard hype about them, but they fell short of my expectations. Both my boyfriend and I did not care for them at all. The night we came in they were hosting a local event, so it took a long time(almost 30 minutes) for our food to come out, but we gave them the benefit of doubt due to the event. We were hoping that the food would win us over, but it didn’t unfortunately. My boyfriend ordered two chicken tacos and I ordered a steak taco and a combo burrito. You’d think that their tacos would be wonderful(hence their name), but the tacos were AWFUL. All grease and nothing much more. My burrito was decent, but nothing special. I got a stomach ache after eating their food. Staff was ok(I wish they would have told us about the wait when we ordered), but the owner was there the night we came in and you could tell he was very passionate about the restaurant(I give him props for that). Jimboy’s Tacos is connected to a gas station, which is kind of weird, but it also works in a way. Overall, this place did not win me over. I won’t be coming back, which is a shame because they are so close to us! I hope they get better with time! Cheers!

In 1954, Jim and Margaret Knudson converted a 16-foot trailer into a mobile kitchen. In 1961, a permanent taco stand was opened at Denio’s Auction Yard in Roseville, California, and today, though not in that same small taco stand, the Knudson family is still selling tacos during the busy weekends at Denio’s. In the years that followed, another location was opened in downtown Sacramento, California and shortly after, in 1965, Jimboy began franchising. About 2 weeks ago, a Jimboy’s franchise opened up in South Orange County, located near the 73 freeway, off Aliso Creek and Glenhurst, literally next door to a Shell gas station convenient store. There’s about a dozen tables, and most of the customers seem to take their food to go. I came here for the Taco Tuesday special, which is 2 Jimboy’s beef tacos and a medium soda for $ 5 and to see if this place lived up to the hype. I have heard hype from people in the Sacramento area, claiming how great the tacos are, and I even heard it from people posting on the OC Register when it was announced that there was going to be a Jimboy’s in the OC. So, like many places, this didn’t quite live up to the«Hype». The tacos weren’t bad, its like getting a soft and a hard taco. The edge of the tortilla were toasty crispy(reminded me of the taco from Jack in the Box’s tacos) but the center part of the tortilla was soft. On one side of the taco is dusted with Parmesan cheese, and the inside of the taco has the ground beef, lettuce, and American cheese. My taco didn’t look anything like the media photo, but then, who does? The tacos aren’t plump, and the meat consistency reminded me of Tito’s Tacos in Culver City. In fact, it was sort of like a Tito’s experience, except Tito’s provides a lot more cheese in their tacos. Unfortunately, both Tito and Jimboy’s Tacos failed in flavor where the tacos could not stand alone on its own… and both places require the use of salsa, hot sauce or some sort of taco sauce to give it flavor. Surprisingly, the 2 tacos and soda did fill me up. I didn’t leave stuffed, but I honestly can say I wasn’t hungry. The tacos were just ok, but not worth driving 40 minutes.

It was a decent meal with ok food. Let’s start with service: A+ The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, especially because this was first time in there. Food was ok, not bad, not as flavorful as I would have expected. Eh, I don’t know, I just wasn’t blown away. Their speciality is ground beef, and it was good. Had it on the super nachos and street fries. I liked the street fries, especially with the addition of some green onions and cheese. Super nachos were just ok. Wouldn’t order them again. Friends who dined with us were the same on the«just ok» scale. Love the cool Coke machine!

Their classic tacos are like a cross between a crispy taco and a soft taco. Not quite soft, and not quite crispy. A tough and greasy floating in between. They taste fresh for sure. The salsa bar was filled with many choices of salsa– some good, some not really. The cashier was extremely friendly as well as who appeared to be the manager. I wanted to enjoy it, but the tacos really weren’t very good. If they fried them all the way and then dipped them in the Parmesan it would be a different story for me.

They just opened so they are in training and still figuring it out. Totally messed up my order, I won’t get pissed yet but if it happens nest time too I will. The food was good though, that’s what saves them from all the problems they have right now, I even liked the fries. Parking is bad since there are only that many spots in a gas station, so just park on the street and walk, you know you need to exercise anyway if you eat here! I’ll come back and hopefully update this in a week or so.
