Went to happy hour last night to celebrate 2 birthdays. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent. The patio was nice and secluded from busy Main Street. Will definitely be back.

UPDATE: After I wrote the original review, the manager immediately emailed me and said that the gift card must have gotten lost in the mail system since he mailed the gift card out the day after it was offered to me. He asked me to call him so he can make sure I receive the gift card. I responded back to him via email, but I decline the gift card at this point — it’s beginning to take too much effort on my part and i would rather just move on. Based on their quick response, I’m changing my review to 2 star. I cant give it any higher rating since it doesn’t change the negative experience I had(it’s not really hurting their reputation on Unilocal with my review anyways). I just hope mistakes like this does not happen again for other people. Such a shame. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Original review: Unfortunately, I did not get to enjoy this restaurant’s wines or food. On the week of Christmas, I made a reservation through their website for Christmas Eve dinner. On 23rd, i even got a «reminder» email about the reservation. I live in Pasadena, but on Christmas Eve, my husband and I were at my parents house(Pomona) for the holidays. Per our reservation, we made our way into Alhambra with an expectation of a lovely evening/date night that we don’t really get to enjoy often. Here was the shocker — the restaurant was CLOSED when we got there. We were seriously disappointed and actually pretty furious as you can imagine. I think it’s great that businesses are willing to close on holidays and let their employees enjoy some time off, but they should also be paying attention to properly closing down all applicable services(ESPECIALLYTHEIRRESERVATIONSYSTEM) so they don’t ruin someone else’s evening. I reached out to the restaurant letting them know that they should not have taken any reservation if they were going to be closed. The owner, Michael F, apologized and offered a gift card, which showed a good gesture to make up for their mistake. However, he did not follow up after that and after waiting over 2 weeks, here i am, writing a review. VERYDISAPPOINTING.

My friends and I came here after dinner nearby for a glass of wine and some dessert. The place is nicely decorated and the server was nice. I got a glass of their La Montecchia which is an orange moscato from Italy. It was pretty good. I don’t remember what my friends ordered but I’m sure they liked their wines. We shared their Cannoli: sweet ricotta and chocolate chip filling, stuffed into 3 crispy shells, drizzled with rich chocolate and dusted with powdered sugar. I thought it was just okay. This is a nice place to just hang out with friends and have good wine and conversation. Parking is a public parking garage located next door.

Love the ambiance. Every time we come in here, it reminds me of the wine bar when I’m on the cruise. It has the perfect amount of lighting, not too dark where I need to use a flashlight to read the menu and not too bright where I can see everyone’s faces clearly(although this may be a bad thing for some, haha!). Noise level is just right, no one is having a shouting match just so that they can carry a conversation. It’s a very relaxing atmosphere. Both times I’ve been here, it’s been for the Happy Hour(which ends at 6pm on weekdays). Great selection of drinks and food. I always get the St Germain for $ 6. We’ve tried the Clam Pizza, Mac n Cheese with Pancetta, and Sliders. They’re all delicious. Service is great. The waitress even stops by to let us know that Happy Hour will be ending soon so that we can get an order of drink/food in. Definitely will be back!

It is a very intimate ambience and very lounge looking. I came here for the wine flights, which were pretty strong and tart. After awhile they all started tasting the same, but I’m no wine expert. I would come back for the drinks, but not the food. I tried the cab-me flight, which were all Cabernet, with slight hints of fruit. It wasn’t anything special — the choices were unique for the pizza and I really liked how the dough tasted. We also got the Mac & cheese and like I sad previously, nothing too spectacular but it wasn’t bad. We tried the house lamb sausage pizza and that was when I discovered… I didn’t really like lamb. It’s definitely an acquired taste. I think the next time I come here, I would sit at the bar. Oh! When you arrive here, you can seat yourself and the hostess comes and brings you a menu on an iPad which was pretty cool.

This restaurant is fantastic! The bartender is hospitable and very knowledgeable of her wines. We went in for the happy hour menu and we’re impressed with the pancetta & arugala pizza as well as the champagne drinks. We look forward to returning soon!

A place for adults. Nice lower key vibe. Decent wine list and pretty good food from next door. Been twice and had great service both times. The gals working there really hustled.

I’m surprised there’s a place like this in Alhambra! If you’re looking for a low key spot to relax, eat, enjoy a glass of wine and have a good conversation with a couple of friends Vino at Trios is definitely the place to go! I really enjoy the atmosphere and the selection of wine they have to offer. I usually get a wine flight just to broaden my horizons. Haha. The pizzas and risotto balls are good to share!

This place is awesome. Coming in you immediately see the bar and to the left the really cute seating area. I have been here a few times, and each time the wine choices have been delicious. I’m a Cabernet type of guy, but love Syrah and other Red’s that tickle my taste buds. The Cheese plates are delicious too, but the Pizza is beyond great. The crust they use is different from their adjacent restaurant Charlie’s Trio and even though I love both, Vino’s is just Amazing. It tastes just so damn good and love the topping choices available. This place is really quaint and great for dates, work gatherings or just popping in by yourself for some wine. I’ll be heading back soon.

Whenever I visit Socal, I always try to see if my good ol’ friends are free to meet up. One of the places we really like to go to is here, Vino at Trios, a little cozy wine bar located in Alhambra next to a bunch of different restaurants that seem to be popping up everywhere in the area recently. The best part of this place is the atmosphere — cozy and intimate, just quiet enough that you can talk to your friends and actually be heard(and vice versa — you can actually hear what your friends are saying). We always have a great time coming here when we realize that just one dinner isn’t enough time to catch up. For food recommendations, I would go with a pizza. The one with prosciutto was delicious.

Decent spot to chill and have wine. Decent vibe. None of the snootiness that comes with some wine bars these days, but it felt a little quiet and dull. Without even a hint of music to liven things up. Sadly, the wines themselves were just meh. And the food was… really sad. REALLY sad. Oh, and the lighting made my skin look bad. Apparently. I don’t know, I guess it’s a little harsh. Not that a manly guy like me cares because WHATEVERBRO.

Came here for a night cap. Wine flights are your best value if you’re with another person. $ 11 for the European Summer, which was 3 white wines, each one progressively sweeter than the next. I am a child so I liked the sweetest one. It was called Morel I believe. Really nice patio if you’re facing in the right direction. Otherwise you’ve got a view of the parking structure. Will write a longer review when I come back for the food.

After trying out the food here, I’m sad I have to say I have to drop one star. I tried the many different types of pizza they offered, and it wasn’t good at all. It was so poorly made that anyone can easily throw one together at home. The Chorizo & Clams pizza wasn’t good either. It was basically a few clams on top of some dough with the tomato sauce. How are you even supposed to eat it? The Prosciutto wasn’t good either. Pretty much all their pizza was just overly dripped with tomato sauce with a small hint of other toppings. Either that or it’s just overly topped with tomato slices. The raw oysters with the kimchi sauce wasn’t that good either. I normally love oysters, but the oyster didn’t taste that fresh and the kimchi sauce was a horrible mix. The best I’ve had was probably the Risotto Croquettes, but even that wasn’t as good as I’ve had elsewhere. The only reason why it’s not 2 stars is because I love their wine selection, their service, and environment.

Just like next door but a little more fun and a lot more wine! Seriously — there isn’t much else to say beyond this. Programmers are very lazy and don’t like to repeat verbose sections of code. What is this, Java? No thank you, I don’t like writing all of the boilerplate. Unilocal is INSISTING that I «finish» this review though. So instead, I’m invoking the function of my next door review: def init(self): from robert. Unilocal_reviews import TrioCafe self. review += TrioCafe. review Yeah, I know it’s kludge, but the API isn’t well documented and I’m not going to go write accessor methods and such myself.

I love it here. The food is great. I always order the Clam and Chorizo pizza. The pizzas are creative and tasty with a Chardonnay crust. I also love the Mac and cheese. It’s a wine bar but I’m a beer drinker. Good thing the craft beers are very good. My friend is a wine drinker and she loves the wines here and they aren’t ridiculously priced. They are very affordable. Happy hour is 3 – 6 Monday through Friday and happy hour all day Sunday. Drinks are 5 and 6 dollars for happy hour. The service is very good. Lani is very knowledgeable with her wine and could help you find something that suites you best. She’s pretty awesome. There are also some tasty champagne cocktails.

When I found out there’s a wine bar located in Alhambra with spectacular ratings on Unilocal,I was intrigued, I immediately felt the buzz and made the reservations. Vino at Trios is located just next to the public parking building on First and Main Street. It comes with both indoor and outdoor patio settings. When we arrived for our reservations it was your typical hot early July evening, naturally, we sat inside. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgable, she answered my questions regarding the wines thoroughly and made a wonderful suggestion on a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. A really nice touch that I enjoyed was how they offer you a menu on an iPad with brief introductions and pictures of the wines. As for the food, here’s what we ordered: — Cheese & Charcuterie: Though we arrived during their happy hour, my friend and I still opted for a regular portioned order. Regrettably, as much as I enjoyed everything else so far, the cheese & charcuterie board was a big let down… The board consisted of 2 types of cheeses and charcuteries, served with cumin roasted marcona almonds and cranberry jam. Other than the almonds, I disliked everything else on the board. Not only the meats felt stale and the cheeses were underwhelming, I thought for an establishment that’s billed as a wine bar, VIno really need to step it up a notch when it comes to cheese and charcuterie selection. Don’t get me wrong, the cranberry jam was nice, but I thought customers like me would’ve appreciated it even more if we see truffle honey or honey comb on the board… Call me spoiled but I’ve experienced some of the best around town. — Raw Oysters: Five oysters served on a plate of ice with kimchi remoulade. It was not clear whether the oysters were really that fresh or the kimchi remoulade somehow magically masked it all; I honestly did not taste any kind of unpleasantness in these oysters. But in fairness, a strong aroma came when the plate was served and unfortunately, that attracted the flies that were partying on their patio. Needless to say, my friend and I were fighting off the flies left and right while we were eating these oysters. — Expresso Rubbed Lamb Lollipop: This plate was a winner! I thought it should not had been listed under«Small Plates» on their menu. The portion itself can be served as an entrée and rightfully so deserved to be in that category. The flavors of the lamb was just phenomenal, plus the crunchiness of buttermilk onion strings mixed with bourbon barbecue sauce. At $ 19 a plate, this dish is a steal! Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back here again. Sadly, I had to deduct a star due to the cheese & charcuterie board plus the flies situation. Perhaps next time when I visit it’ll be during a later time in the evening so the flies situation can be alleviated. Stay tuned~

I’ve never been to a wine bar but after coming to V@T, I think I’ll be coming back a lot more. I came on a Sunday, WHICHISALLDAYHAPPYHOUR. Where else does all day happy hour? How do they even make money?! Note that all prices below are all for happy hour. Fel($ 34 — Bottle) Awesome taste. Don’t be shy to ask for a sample(if they sell it by the glass) Cheese & Chacuterie Plate($ 7) So good that we ordered another plate after we devoured the first one. The bread is so soft, but the best part is the roasted almonds! Fanny Bay Oysters($ 7) So cheap! I love Fanny Bay Oysters. Fresh and good to go! THE place to come.

It is unavoidable that I become a regular at Vino. The place is small, elegant, yet relaxing and does not boast its sophistication. In addition to the exquisite selection of wine and cocktail, I have to say that the food menu was very carefully crafted. After falling love with the lamb sausage pizza and the burratta salad, I continue to discover more delicious and sensual treats– the Mac-and-cheese that is above and beyond your typical comfort dish, the pear-and-fig salad that is so poised in composition and organic in ingredient, and the creative bellinis the staff at the bar recommended and offered. Love at first sight, and continues to evolve with magic flame. Yum.
