PopRock Academy

My daughter has been taking her piano lesson from Poprock since 2013. Piano became part of her life. She learns alot! Thank you Poprock.

The classes are small and you get a lot of personal attention. Acting classes are $ 65 per month, either Paul or Elbert teaches and you go upstairs in a room and pick your favorite scene beforehand. They are all very supportive and passionate about what they teach!

Nice studio. Good teacher. I like my hip hop class because I can learn some dancing what I want. GREAT!

I’ve been singing since I was a kid. In high school and college, I was part of choirs and did solo performances. I had a lot of vocal training from different people but the minute Paul Kwo started teaching me, things made sense.
Paul tells you what you have to do and WHY you’re doing them. For me, that’s a great thing. Instead of doing scales just because you know you need to warm up, Paul explained to me why we’re doing it and what they do to my voice and singing. He’s also patient. He won’t force you to do something that you’re not yet ready to do. He can read you well and will tell you to take a break for a minute or two so that you won’t strain your voice. He’ll work with you and make sure that you know what you’re doing and explain to you how you’re doing it (when you finally get it right).
So if ever you’re in need of lessons (singing, piano, dance etc), try PopRock. They’ll help you get to where you want to be and maybe even a lot further!

The first thing you’ll notice about PopRock is its’ comfy lobby area. It’s very welcoming and reminds you of home. PopRock offers a great variety of lessons from vocal, instrument, acting, dance, glee, and many more. The thing I love about PopRock is that they are focused on developing students’ potential; and not on making money. I believe the first acting and singing class are even free. If you happen to be on the area, stop by and see if you might be interested in any of their classes. You can also watch the students’ public performance every first Friday of the month in front of main street’s Edwards theater.

My 6 yrs old niece takes piano lessons from PopRock and she loves it! She improved so much and her teacher, Paul Kwo, really knows how to motivate her to practice and enjoy music. She is always talks about what she learned from her piano lessons. They have a beautiful studio and a nice waiting area for parents/​family. I would recommend PopRock Academy to anyone who is looking for quality music instructors.

I have Tracy as my vocal teacher here at PopRock Academy. I like how she tries various techniques to work on my voice. With just a few lessons, I have felt my technique has changed dramatically and can project much better. Even though I come to learn how to sing, she had taught me much more. She had empowered me to be a great singer! Although I am not there yet, but I feel like I can be a Pop Star! Thank you Tracy!

PopRock ROCKS! PopRock is a music academy where you learn how to play music instruments. They also held various artistic classes such as acting and singing. Occasionally, they have free parties and performances.
I have been taking piano lesson from Paul for over 5 years. He’s an awesome teacher. He’s really good at making you good. Paul’s high standard pushes you to a new level!

I have been taking piano lessons with Paul on and off for about 2+ years now. He really has a creative way of teaching. As an adult student (he also teaches a lot of kids), Paul has gave me enough freedom to focus on what I want to learn most. I am still learning a lot of the basic stuff but at least I didn’t have to force myself to memorize all the scales and music theories, which I was struggling with all the time. A lot of times he would translate those complicated notes into something I can understand better, and I found that extremely valuable.
Paul is truly talented as a musician. And more importantly, an awesome teacher! He is highly knowledgeable in both music and acting. I was inspired by him in a lot of ways, and am just glad to regain my passion for piano after all these years. He has always encouraged students to find their own voice in music. To me, PopRock is not just another music school, I see this as a place where you come and continue to learn as you developed yourself as a musician/​artist/​actor along the way. Paul is also specialized in voice and improvisation classes if you are looking for something more than just instrumental.
I also had a great experience with another teacher Brian. Overall, this is a great studio for the neighborhood whether you are in search of classes for the kids, or for yourself as an adult.

Great teacher, great service and great space! Paul is not only a very qualified teacher but also a very inspirational one. He makes you feel like you can do anything with the right attitude. Definitely a new gem in the area and one must come check it out to know what I mean.

Paul Kwo of PopRock Academy is the best voice coach I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. He is not just one of those teachers who tell you whether you’re flat or sharp. He actually takes the time to work on every single note and every single word to perfect the song to the best of your ability. Not only does he work on the technical side of songs but he also works on the emotional side of songs which not many teachers do. He puts his heart and soul into every lesson bringing out the best in each student. He has an incredible passion for what he does and I can honestly say I would not have the skills, opportunities, or confidence I have today without Paul.
