Seafood pancake :) generous portions and delicious! Nice and crisp on the outside and has generous portion of shrimp, imitation crab, and octopus. Must try!

The food was good! Our server Lanhua was super attentive and friendly. Amarillo(the busboy) was also helpful! He should be a server! But everyone was friendly and helpful. I would come back. The fried fish that’s free is good here Spacious tables!

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while but I was hesitant after reading previous reviews. My concern was not so much for the food, but the service. Inattentive, aloof service is such a downer and several reviews mentioned it happening here. But today was a cold, blustery day, and I thought a bowl of tofu soup would hit the spot. So I thought, why not? I pass this place all the time so it’s not like I had to go out of my way to give it a try. I went right when it opened(11AM) and I was the first person there. There was someone who took my order and a second person who brought my order. The first person was friendly, the second person was polite and more reserved. What a relief! I was so afraid I was going to be dissed! For starters, I was served hot tea and a small salad. Then the side dishes were served(I think they’re called banchan, pls forgive my ignorance!) and they were all really good! My fave was the potato salad because I’m a sucker for potato salad. Next came the tofu soup with oyster, shrimp and beef. It really hit the spot! There was just the right amount of seafood and the medium spice was just right for me. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and beautifully decorated. It is super clean, too, which I appreciated. I had no trouble with parking since it was a weekday morning. I went there solo but next time I think I’d like to bring a bunch of friends so I can try a lot of different things. The seafood pancake looked very tempting. There were K-Pop videos playing and given that I’m totally unfamiliar with K-Pop, it was interesting to hear the music and watch the singers. It was nice that the music wasn’t too loud. I really enjoyed the ambiance here. I will return with friends in tow:)

Not AYCE, which seems to be the hot ticket lately, but a decent place for Korean food. Lots of tables, so the wait isn’t too bad. Service is OK, but friendly. Prices are a bit on the high end compared to other similar Korean Tofu places. Parking can be really bad given that they share the lot with Costco and Souplantation.

I hate to give a bad review to this restaurant based on their service but it had to be done. Then again, I’ve never experienced good service from a Korean restaurant before. The first time I came here, I waited at least 15 minutes for a table for 4. I thought it was reasonable since it was Saturday dinner rush. It looked like a full house when you’re waiting at the entrance and there was 1 – 2 groups waiting with us but when I went to use the bathroom(all the way in the back) during the wait I saw plenty of open tables in the back. There was at least 10 open tables but they had us waiting for so long. Not only that, there was a group that had just arrived while we were waiting and they were seated immediately. My family and I was pretty furious. Their reason for the wait is because they have to set up our table. They have tea, salad and utensils already when we got seated but that doesn’t take 15 minutes. When it came to ordering our food, we were constantly bombarded by a waitress to take our order. There is such a thing as too much service. Every single time I told them we need 5 more minutes but this one particular waitress literally stepped one foot away from our table and watched us and came back over every 1 – 2 minutes after I told her we need another 5 minutes. All of our menus were still open and we were still looking. This obviously meant we’re not ready to place our order yet. Because of this we felt rushed, and just quickly picked something. When it came to paying our bill, my mom handed the money to a waiter and we waited forever for our change back. They lost track of the bill and had to find it. Paying our bill took another 20 minutes. The second time I came here because my mom wanted something close by since we were at Costco already. They had us waiting again for at least 10 minutes and there was no other party waiting. Keep in mind it was early dinner time around 5ish on a weekday so it wasn’t as busy. My mom used the bathroom and when she came out she was so angry that we hadn’t got seated already and saw all the empty tables in the back so we just left since we didn’t want to repeat last time. The food is average here. Nothing really stood out.

Yay, this place accepts the Young Dong Tofu stamp card here! Mom and I thought they might make us use their stamp card, but the didn’t, whew! Since they accepted the card, we compared the two places and agreed that Young Dong Tofu still reigns supreme! This OO — KOOK location doesn’t serve AYCEBBQ, and so you might want to go to the other location in Temple City that actually serves it. This place didn’t impress us very much. They even use to give out dessert, but they scratch that out too. We ordered the beef and seafood with Korean ribs $ 20.99 — pricey! At Young Dong — it’s $ 18.99 and you get 9 pieces of meat, and over here — you only 6 pieces(Mom counted). Plus, the meat over here was chewy and I ended up leaving the meat around the bones on for the fear of breaking my teeth. At Young Dong, the meat is tender and slips off the bones nicely. Tofu Soup — The soups cooled quickly the moment you drop the egg in. At Young Dong, the soup bowls are still boiling hot even after you drop the egg in. For Mom’s beef and seafood tofu — she only got one shrimp as oppose to the three shrimps she gets over there. As for my beef and octopus soup — generous amounts of beef and octopus, and so I was happy with that. Though the tofu they used was bleh… There was no flavor to it. Rice — we do get the multigrain stone rice here, yay! Though the stone bowls need to be cooked longer — neither Mom or I got any crispy rices — EPICFAIL!!! This was really disappointing, especially to me :( Banchan — you get a yellow croaker fish in place of the Korean pancake, and Mom didn’t like the seaweed over here. Usually, she kills about 4 small bowls of it, but over here, it tasted funky and they’re stingy over here with the rest of the banchan too. Even the eggs are smaller over here. The salad was alright, though mine had hardly any dressing to it and ended up finishing Mom’s salad that was drenched with the dressing. Served with Iced tea brought automatically. The décor here is nicely decorated and the staff here is sweet and attentive. I really wanted to like this place, but the food here is meh and hella expensive. Like I said, Young Dong Tofu still reigns supreme!

I have never been a fan of Tofu Houses. I can pay the same price and go to an AYCE Korean BBQ place. Anyway, my GF wanted to come here for dinner and we did. The restaurant is next to Costco by Souplantation. Plenty of parking available since its inside a plaza. Seafood Soondubu: Not bad actually. I was surprised to see plenty of seafood in it — probably the most I’ve had at any Tofu House. It had clams, shrimps and baby octopus. Ginseng Chicken Soup: Pretty bland so they give you salt to add. After adding salt, it is actually pretty tasty. The soup itself is pretty good but the chicken was pretty tough and dry for some reason. Banchan: About 9 different banchan plus a fried fish. Definitely good variety and fresh considering its a Tofu House. Ill stick with their AYCE branch haha. Service was friendly.
