I don’t know what happened but there is an occupancy violation posted here now. So sad because I loved their sushi. They’re now closed but not sure if that is forever or what.

Knocking off a star due to a recent visit. The service and flavors were not the same as on past visits. For example: no hot towel upon sitting down, smiles not as overly sincere, menu knowledge lacking, no iPad order guide and the rolls were lacking toppings, sauce and fish portions. Also, I hate to say that we did have an issue that the manager made an attempt to correct, but, I hated that he was at fault yet still made the server do all the apologizing table side. Pretty cowardly. I will be tempering expectations on my next visit and if the issues we experienced continue we may stay away for good. Really hope it doesn’t come down to that and they get their act together.

3 rolls for $ 12? I was surprised and even more surprised because they were awesome rolls! Like other reviewers the california roll wasnt the best I have ever had. Also, the avocado peanut roll was unique. I would definitely order it again. The price cant be beat. Its not the best sushi I have ever had, but its pretty damn good for the price.

OHNO!!! what happened to this place? I hope this was just a bad day for them. Our waitress did not refill our drinks and had no knowledge of the menu. I wanted to try something new… maybe, instead of saying you don’t know something about the menu, you could go ask someone who does? Our sushi also was not very tasty this time. It was sort of gross… I’ll be back again to be sure this wasn’t an off day for them. But this was my favorite place for a while. I hope the wait staff and chefs have not changed =(

Just move here recently, find out a great sushi place near by. Good price and for lunch box $ 10.95, and my girl friend got 3rolls for $ 12. It’s incredible, good size. And the service was great. I’ll come back again.

This place is a nice place to get sushi and the staff is friendly. I just came in to the area for Spring Break and stopped in for some sushi. The sashimi was fresh — fresher than most sushi places with no weird aftertaste. I would recommend getting the Spicy Salmon roll of which, I have not tasted anywhere else. These rolls are wrapped differently with a different kind of seaweed and the accompanying sauces are very good as well. Everything was made to be well-presented and they seem to have a large wine selection. Check this place out for lunch or dinner.

I’ve been here a few times and the last time we had the sushi delivered so I’m basing this review on those facts. The 3 rolls for $ 12 is UNBEATABLE! The spicy salmon and tuna were good. The rolls are a bit on the small side however for $ 12 for 3 they had great flavor. A little disappointed on the California roll(too much cream cheese). The sushi was delicious, tuna and salmon were fresh, however it did seem like they give too much rice and fold the fish over a bit to make it seem like the portion is larger. Overall good for the area I must say.

Went to this place on a Saturday evening around 4 with a party of three. We were quickly seated but when it came to ordering the waitress had no knowledge of their menu. Even when asking about drinks she had no familiarity with it. After we ordered we waited for our food which was over 30 minutes… with no other table in the restaurant filled. So we basically couldn’t even understand why it took long we were the only ones there with one entrée each. The food came out and tasted pretty bland in comparisons with other oriental places in the area. The portions are also pretty ridiculous for the money you’re paying. It is as if the place is being selfish with their food. Agree with other reviewers that this place has potential with its intimate atmosphere but will not be coming here again.

Love this place! Their Crispy Spicy Tuna Gyoza appetizer is absolutely amazing! So delicious. If you love sushi, their specialty rolls is where it’s at. Try the King Tuna Roll, or the Crazy Roll! Also, they deliver! Which totally blew my mind… never thought a sushi place would deliver. This place is as pricey as any other high quality sushi restaurant, but it is highly recommended! You won’t regret it.

We ordered a sushi tray for carry out here one night. We were having dinner with another couple back at the house and thought it would be cool do a sushi date! So we ordered a bunch of different rolls and they made them look cute for us. They included a bunch of wasabi, soy sauce and chop sticks which was awesome. The sushi itself was good quality and we all inhaled it. When we picked up the food, I took a peek at the restaurant and it looked really nice. maybe a good idea for a future date night?

I’m writing a review now and will go back– and update my review. I looked up this place because I recently moved closer to this area and wanted a sushi spot that wasn’t freaking closed half of the week AND maybe… delivered. #lazy #diva So I read the reviews and gave this a shot. I walked in and started reading the to-go menu. One of the managers saw me there and literally did not even say hello to me the entire time, not, «Can I help you? Do you need a table? Would you like to order?» nothing. Then again, many Japanese or Sushi restaurants I love have really horrible or insouciant approaches to service and yet have great food.(see: Kaminari) So, I asked him what was good for spicy, but yet, without like a ton of mayo. He recommended the Sex On the Beach one, not sure if that’s what I got, but whatever I ordered(one roll in addition to the sashimi) it was«Meh.». Not BAD at all but nothing that makes you go «OMG great roll, let’s remember the name». Notice, I did not remember the name enough because I’d never order it again. When I order at Kaminari EVERYROLL is OUTSTANDING. Seriously. But– the sashimi(salmon and white tuna) was very good. I thought the prices were reasonable as well. I’ll try it again and update my review because to be honest, it’s a weird experience. I obviously don’t hate it– I’m going back, but I can’t put my finger on why I can’t RAVE about it yet. We’ll see. Ok– thought I’d update. I’ve since gone back to Rice Fusion and am pretty much a fan. There are still a few things that are quirky and bizarre but not deal breakers. They are closed on TUESDAY. I find that bizarre. They have a discount of 10% offered via Life Time Fitness and then if you order via takeout they won’t honor the code even though all the materials for LTF and on the website for LTF it does NOT say«dine in only» or «restrictions apply». Annoying. And why… why? They need to update their printed menu because they’ve raised their prices. I will tell you this, based on my rather extensive sushi eating experience, their prices are about double to many places. When my friend and I have a huge sushi experience with alcohol at Sushi Café in St. Charles, it is the same price as ONEMEALHERE. And by one meal I mean when I order 6 pieces sashimi, one roll and the yellowtail appetizer. Obviously, that’s going to limit me ordering here in the future because frankly– the quality and variety at other places is better. I do love the yellowtail appetizer. Generally speaking– I think the special rolls– although tasty– are just kind of neutral. They don’t WOW You with flavor. Kaminari– wows you. Sushi Café WOWS you. Here it’s almost like a nearby sushi spot that«will suffice». But now that I type out this review I am wondering why on earth I’d continue to pay higher prices for just«ok/good» sushi when I can– sure, have to drive for it, but pay less for far better sushi up the street or in St. Charles. Up to you!

Love this place! Great sushi, great service, and good atmosphere. The food presentation is so beautiful and everything I’ve had there has been so yummy! I would recommend the yellowtail jalapeño app, rock shrimp, and the sashimi. Absolutely recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Delicious! Went there today for lunch and it was so good. Very nice atmosphere on the inside, but it’s in a terrible location, I feel bad for them. I got the lunch maki special, which is two rolls and either soup or salad. The miso soup was good and I had an eel and avocado roll and a spicy tuna roll. I decided to treat myself and I also ordered a Wonderful roll. It was pretty wonderful. It’s covered in this sauce that is similar to spicy mustard, but sweeter. More of a tangy sauce. The service was great, very attentive and polite, and the price was not ridiculous. Definitely go here if you live in the area. So good!

Nice décor, pleasant hostess, but when we went, the servers were overworked. There were two, but one left, so one server to wait on around 6 – 8 filled tables is just too much. They gave us a freebie crab salad for the wait, which was very delicious. The sushi was good… there are some interesting choices, like the peanut-avocado roll(yum!) but overall there’s nothing standing out here, then again nothing really wrong either.

The food is fresh and presentation is beautiful. I get the 3 maki rolls for $ 12 and it even comes with soup or salad. The menu offers sushi and cooked items also. This month, check in with Facebook or FourSquare and get 15% off your dine in or carry out order on Sunday — Thursday.

There are so many sushi places in the area, this one won me over. Far better quality and very different rolls(try the sumo, it’s sirloin in a roll!) I’ll be coming back. *update* I just had a really bad experience, this place is going downhill. Started off with finding a cockroach hiding under the napkin on top of my plate. Then the chefs(which both have been swapped out) made good rolls, but they couldn’t understand what uni(sea urchin) was. Then after we finished our last plate I kid you not, it took 20 minutes to even get our check, then another 20 minutes to even pick up our bill/credit card. I was about ready to leave without paying, thought about just walking up to the front desk. Not sure how good that would do, it was some teenager playing with his phone behind the desk. I’m really questioning returning, this place just isn’t being run the same

Went for lunch and immediately agreed with other reviewers that this place has great ambience. We were quickly seated and then a short time later the sole server(who ran her butt off) greeted us and suggested we go with the sushi, as it would be over 30 minutes for anything from the kitchen. This wasn’t a huge deal for us, as we were planning on sushi anyway; however, there were only 4 other occupied tables at 12:30PM, so we were a bit perplexed by that info. She wasn’t exaggerating either, as we heard another patron advise her that they would be leaving if their food wasn’t out soon. The basic rolls we ordered were nothing to write home about… neither bad, nor spectacular. The nigiri was the highlight of the meal and the fish tasted very fresh. I think this place has potential, but IMHO Kaminari in LITH or Kyoto in Crystal Lake are better choices.

Went there today with my wife and super, overtired, crabby son after the circus(which he only stayed halfway through … a whole other story). We wanted to go there the night before, but the sitter plans changed and knocked us out of dinner range. We still had the desire for sushi still, so we decided to stop by and do an early dinner on the way home.(we were really early). The place is very nicely decorated. Comfortable lighting and nice neutral modern, Asian colors. Very pleasing ambiance. Staff could not have been nicer. Ordered a bowl of MaMaes(Edamame) for the monster with some orange juice. He was happy as can be wolfing down the shelled soybeans. Miss Lovely and I ordered some sake, the coconut soup to share, and a few rolls. Very reasonable, incredibly fresh, and some new takes on rolls I have not seen before(and we have been around the block a few times). Try the avocado/peanut roll. Sounds pretty basic, but has a great texture and flavor that will put it in our rotation for the future. We are big fans of Kaminari(ailoi and pepper dishes), and are now a big fan of Rice Fusion. Here they play more with Mango and other flavors … instead of the bold spice of Kaminari. Though try the Spicy Kani roll … crab and spice. awesome. It is right by Men’s Wearhouse, and if you see it from the back, it still has the«Asian Cuisine» sign up. Find this place no matter what you do. 3 rolls for 12 bucks … and great quality !!! Fantastic deal, and fantastic food.

We visited Rice Fusion since the menu seemed to have quite a few items we enjoy at several sushi restaurants. Their location in Algonquin Commons was a plus, as we live close by. The food was very good. We were there for my wife’s birthday and had started the meal with two orders of Yellowtail sushi(only one piece per order), alongside a large hot sake and a nice, cold Sapporo. After that, we had a plate of: Shrimp Tempura Roll — five rolls Angry Dragon Roll — eight rolls Yellowtail Roll — six rolls Dancing Eel Roll — five rolls Salmon Skin Roll — six rolls Then we tried: Mango Dragon Roll — eight rolls Sumo Roll — eight rolls And we finished the meal with another large hot sake and another order of Yellowtail Roll. Their menu can be found at which has quite a big selection for those who aren’t fans of sushi. While the food was quite good, we enjoy some similar sushi rolls a bit better at some other sushi places we’ve visited(such as Friends on Rush Street). However, we will definitely come back for several reasons. They have a friendly staff, a really nice interior which is also very clean, and(for those with egg allergies) they do not use egg in their tempura(so my wife was finally able to experience tempura rolls for the first time).
