I have a terrible time having my Gymbucks credited on line… It is so cumbersome that I eventually give up and do not use the bucks or make a purchase?

I have been a fan of Gymboree since my 17 year old daughter was a baby. I would not dress her in anything else but Gymboree. When my second daughter was born in 2007, I exclusively dressed her in Gymboree as well. One simple reason: the clothes last. Sure, they clothes are expensive but, they change their styles every season and put their past season in the clearance area and mark them down… way down. Like Target and Walmart prices. Sure it’s a season late, but who cares? My now 6 year old daughter is wearing her 17 year old sisters’ clothes from when the 17 year old was 6. And they look brand-spankin’ new. She is so retro and retro is cool! This store is always a little bit noisy, but what do you expect, it is a kids store. Sometimes it is a bit crowded, but that doesn’t bother me either. The employees are fantastic. Seriously fantastic. They will run into the back of the store to see if they have a pair of pink leggings in a size 6 and if they don’t, they will call another Gymboree and arrange to have them delivered to their store for easy pick-up. All of that extra work to sell a pair of $ 3 leggings. I’m a little sad because my 6 year old has recently announced that she doesn’t want to wear Gymboree as much. She wants to wear Justice clothes. The thought of walking into the loud, smelly, glittery store makes my stomach turn. Thank goodness for the internet.

I have a confession to make. I opted to forgo finding out the gender of our baby mostly to drive our friends and family nuts. And it’s working. An unintended side effect, however, is that I’m now having difficulty finding gender neutral clothes for our baby-to-be. Enter Michelle at Gymboree. Like with most retail places, I was greeted warmly when I entered the store. Michelle, who is quite bubbly, asked me if I was looking for anything special. I told her«newborn clothes,» and she must have sensed my dejection. Her first question, like most people, was«boy or girl?» When I explained that I didn’t know, she walked me to their gender neutral section, a small area with yellow clothes. When she saw my disappointment in the selection(apparently the only baby colors in existence these days are pink, purple, blue or yellow), she told me to hold on and that she KNEW she had stuff in the back that would work. Left to my own devices, I found a few sale items that would work, even though most of them were green and/or yellow. About 10 minutes later, Michelle emerged from the backroom with an armload of clothes, which she told me were SUPER cheap… she wasn’t kidding. Most of the onesies that she showed me were a buck ninety nine. What’s even better is that they were offering 30% off sale prices, which meant that those onesies were marked down to $ 1.40 a piece. Needless to say, I loaded up, even though some of the ones that I got were the same garment in a different size-just too good to pass up. I ended up with a bag filled to the seams with clothes, and at a steal of a deal. As we were wrapping up my transaction, she also let me know that they have a red balloon sale twice a year with amazing deals, similar to the deal I had gotten that day. The only catch was that I would need to shop early because the selection gets picked through quickly. You bet your sweet cheeks I’ll be back!
