Terry’s School of Dance

We spent years looking for a studio that we could call «HOME» but hadn’t had any luck until we found Terry’s School of Dance three years ago. Miss Terry is a force of nature! She loves the kids and makes sure that everyone feels welcome and at home. The teachers are talented and dedicated.
The Showgroup Competition Team has been a fantastic experience for our daughter. She loves to dance, and going to the competitions and seeing the supportive, nurturing, encouraging environment that Miss Terry and the other teachers create ensures that the kids are motivated but not stressed out.
I highly recommend this studio — it’s the BEST in the area, by far.

I enrolled my three year-​old daughter in the tiny tots gymnastics program at Terry’s school of dance about 6 months ago and I’ve been so impressed with the program.
Unlike other gymnastics and dance classes for children of this age, Terry’s really emphasizes learning the fundamentals and keeps the kids organized and moving through the entire hour.
Though the neighborhood and building are not the chicest, I feel very confident my daughter is getting a great introduction to the fundamentals of gymnastics and tumbling.

My son spent about 5 – 6 years at Terry’s before he went to Los Angeles. In that time he earned trips to FL and CA as well as other things. Terry cares about the kids a lot and it shows. She has excellent qualifications and strives to make sure all the kids are cared for. It’s a small place but creates kids who aren’t afraid to stand up in front of class for a report, kids that have confidence, kids that realize they can work hard and still have fun.
We lived 45 minutes away so it was nice to know what their closing policy was prior to bad weather. You are dealing with parents and kids and it is assumed if Fairfax Cty closes the schools it is not worth asking kids and parents to try to come to class. Why should they be open if there are only 4 kids that show up?
There are many dance schools out there you could go to but none will match the caring that Terry’s has. To her the kids are always number one.

This studio is amazing. I’ve danced here for 13 years and have been competing for 11 years. The office staff and teachers are beyond kind and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. The competition team is so much fun and the girls and boys who are a part of it, become so close and are just one big family.
I love my TSD family!
