Going to bump it to 5 stars. This afternoon’s food is excellent. The cream of mushroom soup — Fantastic!

Though Roseina’s has a limited menu that doesn’t change, I really like what they offer. It is a to-​go place with consistently good offerings. They are a little pricey, but if you don’t mind paying a little extra, give it a try.

Enjoyed the Valentine’s Day Dinner. Baby shrimp and sea scallops with a chive champagne cream and the flaky puff pastry, blue cheese and walnut salad in a crisp Parmesan cheese nest, salmon, crab cake and shrimp, and then there’s the Filet Mignon. The Valentine’s Day Special is over the top wonderful!

I don’t give 5 stars very often but this lovely takeout restaurant fits the rating. It is so tucked away that I forget about this delicious sandwich shop. Even though they have entrees too, I can only comment on the filling and priced right yummy sandwiches. I feel like I’m eating healthier too with the side of potato salad. Thank you! I wish you were here when I was growing up.

Quaint lil mom and pop carryout that has great service and awesome food. I usually get their Jerk chicken wrap and butternut squash soup. The jerk chicken wrap is seasoned just right and the squash soup is creamy, sweet with touch of cinnamon. Any sandwich you order comes with either Lay’s potato chip or potato salad. They have daily dinner specials and they also sell bottles of wines. The two tables with chairs is used for waiting only. If you’re in the Alexandria area definitely check it out.

The people alone make me want to return, but the food (and wine selection) is pretty darn good too! Heads up — it’s takeout only. Also the prices are a bit high but we decided for the quality of the product it’s worth it. Glad we popped in, and we’ll definitely be back.

Chef Uffe catered our birthday cruise for 20. He was terrific. His suggestions, salmon and jerk chicken, were delicious; as were his appetizers. He took our suggestions and improved them (couscous salad and roasted vegetables).
All our guests were equally impressed.
More than just a cute carry-​out.

I work at a nearby local business and place lunch orders all of the time. Not once have I been disappointed! I highly recommend the French dip sandwich, or my personal favorite, California turkey sandwich. Orders are made quickly without being rushed! I love Roseina’s!

I want to hate this place, and swear I won’t go back, but back I go for another hamburger. Again. It’s almost $ 10 and comes with a small side of potato salad. The prices are high. The servings are normal to large but the quality is very good. I really love my $ 10 burger and only wish you were less expensive. Restaurant prices, good quality for take out food. No dine in, closed on Sundays and Mondays.

New spot or at least new to me. Only one or two tables that seat two people, it’s really for takeout. They have a fast changing menu with daily specials and things written on the chalkboard. We had a Caesar salad, pie, jerk chicken wrap, and potato salad. All homemade and delicious. The prices for things besides sandwiches/​wraps are steep for a takeout place would probably be the only negative. But they even have craft beer and wine and tons of homemade desserts and interesting snacks.
In an area with only chain restaurants, pizza, and Chinese, I am definitely adding this to the rotation for carry-​out/​delivery.

We love this place and stop by any time we are in the area. I wish it was closer to my house. The Butternut Squash soup is so yummy! In fact, everything I’ve had there was delicious!

Roseina’s is great! Here are some things to try here:
Shrimp and Bisque Soup: Not too spicey, very special!
Gumbo: A chicken gumbo that hits the spot! Ask for it with the rice on the side and get a bit more of the good stuff.
Burgers: A great burger that includes a bag of chips. I order it with extra bacon. The smoked gouda hits the spot.
Jerk Chicken: This is a carry-​over from the original Roseina’s. The dipping sauce is exceptional, ask for extra sauce.
To be honest, a number of the entrees are high priced, but if you choose well, there is some really good food here at reasonable prices.

Roseina’s catered a party for our office this past summer. We had a number of different finger food platters. The smoked salmon was delicious and I was also a big fan of the chocolate strawberries. I have not yet eaten in the restaurant, but I definitely plan to soon. I highly recommend them for their catering services.

Cajun/​Creole is a misnomer for this great takeout place. I loved this place even before current owner, Uffer and Joy, bought this place from Tree who initially went to open up a restaurant in Belize. Believe now Tree returned to U.S. and is involved in the wine business. I usually have egg salad sandwich whenever they have it or a nice medium rare hamburger with lettuce and tomato with a little bit of mayo and a thick slice of raw onions. This is a very friendly place with lots of other good dishes. They also do a substantial catering business. Love this great neighborhood take out place.

A great range of options, not entirely Cajun. While it’s a bit of a drive, it’s worth the time on the way home from work to get healthy food. Tasty, the best version of home made, and if you call ahead it’s super easy to walk in and pick up.

Great local sandwich shop. Nice variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and pasta. No eat in, just carry out. They have daily specials, and sell specialty items, wine, snacks, etc.

Roseina’s is a great little carryout. We’ve been visiting at least once a week since we moved to Fort Hunt.
I love the cajun chicken wrap and the shrimp and jalapeño bisque. In the summer, the gazpacho is also really good.
The staff is very friendly and professional (which, considering some of the service I get from high school-​aged kids, is very impressive). The shop has an interesting collection of wine and other treats and gift items.
