Rick’s Handyman Services

Rick was awesome to work with. He performs the work himself as well. I had him replace rotted wood, fix some paneling on our back patio as well as some chandelier work. He and his team completed everything very fast, and were affordable as well. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs work done to their house.

Rick had confirmed he would assist on a project 2 weeks in advance and cancelled on me last minute which has caused significant issue in having to find someone. He is not reliable.

Rick was such a pleasure to work with. Of all the people I called to stain a deck for a client of mine, Rick was the only person who answered the phone and was responsive through the entire process.
He worked with my clients to help them find the best solution for their deck and worked with me to give an excellent price while providing fantastic service and a high quality product. Thanks, Rick!

We hired Rick to stain our deck. He responded to our calls in a timely fashion, made appropriate, unselfish, suggestions as to which stain to pick and had his man out here in good time. The stain looks great and we were very happy with our experience.

It started off great, Rick answered the phone, we discussed what jobs needed to be done for my rental property. I sent him a follow-​up email with a bullet list of the jobs. 10 days passed and then I got the bill. I was surprised. Rick sent two guys and they were there for three hours. So the four bullet points I listed was equivalent to *6* man hours worth of work?
Here’s what I requested:
*master bathroom toilet taking a long time to fill up (they replaced the tower and flapper and also replaced a flapper in another bathroom)
*small water stain on master bedroom ceiling — find out if it is an active or old leak, prime and paint (they went in the attic and looked around. They painted over the stain but it didn’t match and the renter had to repaint after they were done)
*small water stain on ceiling in foyer above stairs — old leak, prime and paint (They painted over the stain but it didn’t match and the renter had to repaint after they were done)
*repair drywall in master bedroom closet where shelving fell down (patch up holes and paint)
They also caulked 6 – 8 feet of crown molding (that was not on my list and even the renter said not to do it).
All for $ 395. Still searching for a handyman… too expensive for such minor repairs and does not seem necessary for two guys to be there for 3 hours.

We are first time home owners who are far, far more comfortable behind a desk than a drill. I hung the pictures on my wall when we moved in, but that’s about the extent of my tool usage (though I’ve always wanted to wield a sledgehammer and demolish a wall on an HGTV show…)
Anyway, we bought a house, and things started to slowly fall apart. First, the latch on the front door broke. Rick sent a guy to our house to evaluate it free of charge. He told us the parts we needed to order, and came back later to install it for a very reasonable rate.
A month or two later, a different part of a different door broke, the same night our garbage disposal decided to die on us. I called up Rick again the next morning, and within a few hours a very nice guy was at our house, unscrewing the door handle to fix it. He jumped right over to the garbage disposal, and knocked that out quickly too. He even had time to look at my sad little door bell. He said he could fix it, but offered me a cheap alternative and showed me how to fix it myself with a part from Home Depot. He was here for a good 45 minutes and the cost was only $ 50 (probably because it required no parts, but still, I was thrilled!) He even took the time to love on my dog :)
Everyone I’ve talked to at the company has been polite, respectful, and helpful. I don’t feel like they’ve taken advantage of me (a young, clueless woman) at all, rather they’ve really worked to build a good reputation with me. I know when I have bigger jobs I’ll be calling them again.
