Unfortunately, we did the same as everyone else and just grabbed the flyer that was slipped under our door, without reading the reviews… Luckily, we were hungover enough to choke it down, but holy crap. My pasta was filled with water, the pizza fries were still frozen, and the mozzarella sticks were disgusting(how can you mess up mozzarella sticks?) I don’t mean to be rude, but I’d seriously consider finding any other place to eat. Go to the store and buy some frozen microwaveable food even, it’ll be a better meal.

well we didn’t really order here, but if your looking to learn about the food I think the pictures are enough of an explanation. We got a slip placed under our hotel door and tried to order but we were greeted by a deep voice saying«it’s too late» really sketchy 0stars

Just ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and a Baklava Dessert. To be delivered to my hotel room. Baklava was good size, but burnt on top and bottom and NOT edible. Fettuccine Alfredo which is listed as such on my receipt arrived as Spaghetti with Chicken NOTWHAT I ORDERED. So, now 1 ½ later I finally get my correct order and top of Chicken Fettuccine is burnt. I travel all the time and sometimes it’s nice to just stay in your room. I don’t write many reviews. This restaurant is unfortunately not one I would ever take a chance and order from again. To many things wrong.

Today I didn’t feel like cooking and had seen the menu in my door. So I thought it would be a good thing to try something new since we are new to the area. My husband was not please with his dinner he had a calzone and mozzarella cheese sticks. I had the grape leaves and manicotti. I don’t eat pork otherwise I would have gotten the spaghetti with Italian meatballs :(. Anyhow, I enjoyed my food, the garlic bread was a little tough, but other than that yummm!

After a long day, I got back to my room at the Westin, I noticed a menu from Papa Joe’s under my door. I was very hungry and didn’t want to pay for room service. STRIKEONE: Apparently, Papa Joe’s had been banned from coming into the hotel, I had to go down to the street to pick up my food. STRIKETWO: I had asked for utensils with my order, the man on phone seemed happy to oblige. Upon opening the bag, no utensils. I had to ask the Westin staff for utensils, whom were already annoyed with me for summoning the greaseballs at Papa Joe’s into their building. STRIKETHREE: Whenever I watch Gordon Ramsey’s tv shows and he comes up with colorful ways to insult the food, I think to myself«come on Gordon, there’s no way food could be that bad». Now I know what Gordon is taking about. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, they somehow managed to both overcook the spaghetti while at the same time, undercooked the chicken. Fortunately, I had a microwave at my disposal. The baklava was dry and broke into a thousand pieces when I tapped it with my fork. Needless to say, I will be checking Unilocal the next time I decide to order take out in an unfamiliar city.

I should’ve used Unilocal before giving in to bad weather, travel exhaustion, and the ad slipped under my hotel door. The food tasted bad. No issues with the delivery, although it’s like they were trying to use as much plastic and styrofoam as possible.

«I’m really feeling some nachos/pasta/sandwiches right now! Hmm, Papa Joe’s Pizza sounds like the perfect place to order from!» …I bet you guys are the kind of people who’d order Japanese food from a McDonald’s if it was an option. If you’re eating at a place with pizza in the name, maybe it would be a good idea to order some pizza from them… Despite the bad Unilocal reviews, I decided to give this place a try.(I partially wanted to see if it really was as trashy as everyone says, and I partially just wanted to say that I ate at Papa Joe’s – «What? You mean Papa John’s?») Anyway, I ordered a 16″ pizza. I called in my order(because online ordering didn’t have the option of extra cheese) and they said that it’d be ready in 20 minutes. Though they have delivery(for free), I decided to pick it up because of the horror stories on Unilocal. The guy took my order easily(cheese pizza with extra cheese, and half jalapenos). However, each topping is an additional $ 1.75. I was charged for both the extra cheese, and for the half-jalapenos. I should’ve just got it on the whole thing. Bumped the price up a bit, but it was okay. The store is easy to find, right off Jefferson Davis Highway. Going in, the interior was deliciously 90’s. There is literally no sitting room here, though. It’s carry out or delivery only. No such thing as dining in here. My order was ready even though I got there 5 minutes early. The pizza smelled really good and it looked okay(if THAT was their«extra cheese», the normal amount of cheese is just pathetic). There were less than 10 jalapeño slices on the pizza, too, which was disappointing. However, it wasn’t as bad as the reviews here say. The cheese was a bit rubbery, and the sauce was sweeter than other places, but the dough was so good! It honestly made the pizza for me. Bottom line, I’ve definitely had worse pizza(*cough*Paisanos*cough*). For the price, it’s pretty good… Just don’t go overboard with the extra toppings because it’s not really worth it.

Ordered 20 mild wings and a 2 liter of soda. The driver delivered the food, but no soda. I called the store and was told«sorry buddy, we bring tomorrow.» That’s fine, except I’m staying at a hotel and won’t be around tomorrow… So we dig into the wings to find out that apparently in the world of Papa Joe’s, mild means«without flavor.» That’s okay though, because what they lacked in flavor, they more than made up for in strands of deep-fried hair. I called the store again and told them to cancel my order and refund my money. Without even asking why, the guy responds«OK, I cancel. You paid credit yes?» After affirming this, I was again told«OK, I cancel order» before being hung up on. Pretty solid customer service, but to be honest I’ve had better fried hair before. Still waiting on my money to be refunded to me, but I’m afraid I’ll have a better chance of getting hold of Papa Joe himself.

This place is the epitome of bad pizza. The sauce is that cheap, sugary, underspiced, bland marinara sauce – in excess. The toppings are cheap – those little«balls» of sausages that only cheap places and gas stations put on their pizza. A *real* pizza parlor uses ground italian sausage or forms their own little nuggets. The dough was good but that wasn’t enough to save this pie. I also ordered the wings which had basically no wing batter on them and very little sauce — –with my extra-charge blue cheese spilled all over them. I will never order again. Sigh. Still haven’t found any decent thin-crust on the East Coast, let alone a proper deep-dish pie.

I too, wish I had read the Unilocal reviews before picking up the flyer from under my door at the Gaylord National Harbor. Spent15 minutes in the lobby looking for the delivery guy… and this is a huge lobby. Had to call him twice asking him where he was. Needless to say the pizza was cold not that good. He said they weren’t allowed to bring the pizza to the room. What a hassle!

Why why why didn’t I read the reviews before ordering from here? Everything we ordered was awful! I stayed at the Holiday Inn and their flyer was under the door. The«spaghetti with meat sauce» was overcooked spaghetti with watery marinara sauce and pieces of pizza topping sausage sprinkled on top. The«fettuccine alfredo» was utterly devoid of taste. To add insult to injury, we also ordered the nachos and there was no cheese on the nachos. When we complained they said that’s how they do their nachos. Whoever heard of nachos without cheese? Anyway, lesson learned. I will read the reviews before ordering from anywhere.

A one star is being generous. The food was horrible and over priced. To sell nachos for 7.95 one would expect chips that were not stale. Stay away from this place.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza and they slipped a flyer under my door. I called the hotel front desk and asked if they allowed this practice. The lady said no, and that they have warned this restaurant not to do it. If these guys resort to poor business practices, then you cannot trust them with your food. THANKYOU to everyone that left a feedback. I was about to order wings and salad from this place but thought, «Hey, what the heck. Let me check their Unilocal reviews.» Glad I did!

I stayed in a DC hotel and saw a flyer under my door(which is not allowed), and decided to order with coupons. Actually thought I was ordering Papa Johns, until there answered the call. My issue was not the food, although the pizza was cold, it was the delivery person who called and said I am out side your door, which was not true and then said he was downstairs, which he had not even pulled up yet. Food was ok, but honest business practices are important and I didn’t have a good experience with that.

Can I give it No Stars? Wish I read the reviews before ordering from here. They added mayo to the Italian sub, which wasn’t listed — therefore I couldn’t eat it. The bread was super soggy anyway, it would have been gross even if I ate it. The french fries and onion rings were soggy. Delivery did take an over hour. The delivery man was friendly though. This was a complete waste of money. Maybe it is better if you go there and order and pickup right away and eat it right away, but DONOT get delivery from this place.

I was in Washington DC. this past weekend and decided to give their delivery pizza a try. First and foremost, it took 1hr. and 30 minutes for it to arrive. I called them at the 1 hr marker and ask them how much longer it would be and the person answering the phone didn’t seem to care and said he would check with the driver and left it at that. No, I’m sorry for the wait or any concern at all. I then waited an additional 30 minutes until the driver arrive. By the time he arrived, the pizza was colder than a frozen pizza. When I informed him that I was not paying for it he said that he had several other deliveries and that’s why it was cold. Nevertheless, I refused the order. This place is a joke and I don’t know how they stay in business with that kind of service.

I didn’t read the reviews, I just ordered from the flyer that was on the floor when we opened the hotel room door. In their favor: it arrived fairly quickly, brought by a friendly delivery guy. That’s about it. OK, it was cooked through. On the other hand, it’s bland. Is there any salt in this crust? The sauce and cheese are equally tasteless. Lots of room for improvement here, Joe. Dear Residence Inn: please don’t let Papa Joe’s put those flyers under the door and exploit our road warrior vulnerability any more. Invite a really good pizza place, then everybody who deserves to wins!

Called for delivery to hotel while working in Crystal City. Finished my order and I had to stop them from hanging up on me to telling me how long and how much. The one good was that they arrived exactly on time. As for the pie, greasy and no real flavor. Not worth the price. Breadsticks with cheese(would be better called ‘cheesy bread’,) Was expecting Breadsticks with a cheese dipping sauce, was actually cheese covered. These were actually tasty, with the exception that the marinara that came with it was popped open and spilled during delivery, so half of it was unrecoverable. Overall, too expensive for the low quality and no flavor. Will not order again.
