This is a favorite spot to find out-of-the-ordinary items that they don’t have at Safeway, especially unusual spices. They also have the best baklava in the world!

we ordered the hummus which was ok kinda bland for us, and the falafel is awful but that’s our opinion, falafel can be very subjective I know from which region, spices, ext but it wasn’t for us. so we wont be back for lunch sadly, but they do have a big selection on the grocery end of things. we would have bought the bread but the sign said bread oven is broken .? well ok but your a bakery, don’t you have a backup oven and we did witness cheese bread being made in a different oven so I don’t know, don’t really get that at all.

When I have the Mediterranean craving, this is where I go to. You find olives and cheese, oils and vinegars, pastries and sandwiches. The store is so much fun to go through, even if you are not from the Mediterranean region. I always buy the same things and I will highly recommend them to everyone! Tabouli, baba ganoush, cucumber yogurt salad, and don’t forget the plain pita chips. If I’m on my own, that’s all I need. I can make meal out of them. The serving size is generous and the ingredients are simple — meaning there isn’t anything that’s bad for you in it! I seriously cannot eat any other tabouli anymore. Do try it out!

Stopped here for lunch for the first time and was impressed. I ordered the Shawarma sandwich at the café for under $ 6. It came with humus and pita chips and was amazing. While my food was being prepared, I browsed the market. They have a huge selection of olive oils, olives and other hard to find Mediterranean ingredients. Definitely will be back.

Mediterranean Bakery and Café is located in an aging strip mall that could use some sprucing up. No surprise for the traffic and parking Saturday afternoon. MB&Café is a small specialty grocery store… I was amazed at the selection of food items and spices. If eating in your order is taken in the back… your number is called when ready. Nothing much to it except for the long wait we endured. One would think service, quality and timeliness would be of no concern ordering a gyro combo. This type of order ought to be a walk in the park. We sat down and proceeded with our lunch order. My side salad and humus came with the gyro combo. Nothing much to it… except for the long wait. My gyro was edible but bland and put together with a half-hearted effort that was evident. I was expecting gyro meat shaved fresh off the hot spit… what I received must have been thawed out and microwaved. Where did the love go? Cutting corners and running cheap is no way to keep customers. I am giving my review a two star rating. The grocery store appeared to run a fair amount of customers but the café was lost… the passion was not there anymore. I will not be coming back.

Great little Mediterranean grocery, bakery, and café. Good selection of foods, sauces, sweets, you name it. They make a great fresh falafel platter and amazing home made hummus. The service is warm and friendly. There is a small area for eating which is a perfect size for a quick lunch. It’s in an unassuming location in the Home Depot shopping center but don’t let that deter you. You won’t be disappointed.

I recently got to know about this café as I was craving for baklava. And I must say they have a wide variety of baklava, I had rolled baklava and square one and both were perfect.

This is one of the best places I have ever been to. This café is one of those unique places where everything they have ever made is delicious. A rare find indeed.

Their manaeesh and baked pies are the best. Try the cheese and the zaatar manaaeesh. They’re to die for. Also the store has everything you’d find at a middle eastern grocery store from spices to baked bread to candy. This place is like Arab heaven!

I got a cannoli and cream puff here(very authentic Mediterranean!!) but they were so fresh tasting even at closing time! I’m a fan! And no fussing over credit card minimums which is refreshing too!

Delicious and reasonably priced selection of foods at the café. There is space to sit down inside the café, but the space is limited. It’s great to wander the aisles of the grocery store portion and find something new to try! It’s not huge, so you won’t spend hours here, but you can find something great every time you go :) It’s also an excellent place to purchase items in bulk(I buy whole flax seed here by the bag for less than $ 2). They have a vast selection of pastries and I highly recommend the baklava!

One of my favourite Middle Eastern Grocery Stores — plenty of tasty morsels and jams and halva and Turkish Delight. The prices are really reasonable. The small eatery is just that — a bit small — although the food is delicious. The staff are all very helpful.

Love this place. Amazing selections of products. Great hot sauces. Every time my dad visits Virginia he makes sure to stop here and bring us some delicious baklava. Today i got to visit for the first time. I got their falafel sandwich and it was sooo good!

Love this spot. Great place to come whenever I have a hankering for Mediterranean. Wide selection of authentic imported products that are hard tk find elsewhere but my go-to items are the dolma and baba ghanouj. Great price on juicy, fresh grape leaves stuffed with vegetarian rice(think ~6 for $ 3), although the meat ones sometime look a bit desiccated. The fire roasted baba ghanouj is another mainstay — smokey, full of eggplant chunks, and super flavorful. Swing by once every couple months and highly recommend.

Gem of a Lebanese eatery and grocery store in a random strip mall off the main road of Duke street. The place is family owned and the employees are really nice. Everything is homemade, including the pita bread in a gigantic brick oven that just makes me want to eat four pizzas. They sell lots of different ethnic spices and frozen items as well as the hot food. The different types of spanakopita and gyro type stuff was delicious even frozen, and reasonably priced. They make their own spanakopita and other breaded savory items and all were very delicious and great to take home and throw in the oven. The baklava was the best I’ve had, also homemade and delicious. As far as the savory hot food they had lots of the usual delicious items of things that go in pitas. I had this kind of middle eastern pizza item with lamp meat ground up on top. You are recommended to put siracha but don’t have to because the flavor is great.

I have been coming to the Mediterranean bakery my whole life, their spinach pie are just something I can’t live without. They are little hand pies of spinach feta and spices wrapped with flat bread! Delicious! The store itself has a wide variety of Mediterranean grocery items that are fun to explore. They have a wide variety of jams andspreads, mustards, cookies and hot sauce. As for the bakery you can get sweet or savory fresh made eats! They have tons of tarts and baklava, eclairs and cakes. They also have a good olive and cheese selection. But again, my favorite are the pies. Make sure you try the spinach, tomato, or meat! Heat up for thirty seconds and enjoy!

They do have a big variety of got sauces. I came for the hamentashen that wad good and fresh. The preserve a little sweet but it’s supposed to be that way. Then at the spur of the moment I decided to get two falafals and two chicken swarmas. thinking I was in this kind of a place they should know how to make it right? Wrong!!! The falafel were okay. But the chicken swarms were dry empty just chicken barely any seasoning barely any onions. And I asked for the sauce on the side. but ask I eat was that bread. Very big disappointment. They do have a very good selection of Mediterranean seasoning and spices so that’s why I mainly come here and for the hamentashen but that’s it. I’m never eating there cooked good again.

Um. How can I not write a review on this amazing little Mediterranean mecca! This place is pretty small but they have SOOOOOO many different items you can’t find everywhere. Yes you can find feta cheese, but can you find the bulgarian style AND get it cut to a size you want?! Bulgarian feta cheese is one of my FAVES. It tastes the best in my opinion! After meeting two bulgarian girls, they have turned me on to different ways to eat feta cheese as well. Have you ever mixed feta with an egg stuffed it into a roasted red pepper and grilled it? Oh you haven’t? NOWYOUWILL. And you can get all the ingredients to do that here! They have a wide selection of spices, hot sauces, olive oils, OLIVES, just anything. It’s amazing. You can get fresh olives here as well!!! I also scooped up some tahini for whatever my little heart desires :) They have a bakery section, that literally you should ALL write home about. The pies aren’t your apple pie, I am talking veggie/meat pies or appetizers. I met a lady there who was buying about 20+ pies(spinach, meat, etc.) and she said shes been buying them for over 30 years. UM!!! GREEKLADYTIP. She told me to go for the pies that weren’t made with fillo dough. Turns our fillo dough tends to be more oily! The pies I choose were fatayeh or something, I can’t remember the EXACT spelling of the name, but it is the non-fillo dough one. I choose one meat pie, one spinach, one spinach/feta, and one feta/tomato. Ah-MAZING. SERIOUSLY. YOUCANNOTGOWRONG. I also had a sandwich from the back. When I first got the sandwich, I thought it was smaller(hence all the pies) but it ended up being really filling. My sister was with me and we ended up only being able to finish our sandwiches and sharing one pie(barely since we were both so full). I’ll definitely definitely be back: D
